I have drawer liners in my bedside chest with cats all over them - they make me smile every time I see them and they were given me by my Mum!:A:ASmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

MyHappinessProject wrote: »Mav, I had a lovely young beech tree, that sparked joy and had been given with great thoughtfulness by a close friend, that was in the wrong place - I moved to a better site in my garden, but it died. It stood dead in my garden for a good few months( I think I was hoping it would suddenly jump back into life!). Then, near Christmas time( I had my MM+M hat on , I think!) I decided to saw it off at its base, fix it in to the Xmas tree 'holder', Spray paint it Green and gold and hang decorations on it as a Xmas tree. That was about 15 years ago and I have used it every Christmas since, every Xmas it has been unpacked and decorated - I love my eco Tree.!
In fact , When I was Kondoing random Komono one day a few months ago, when I came across the tree, I decided that it gave me so much joy that it was too special to have it packed away where I couldn't see it. So out it came and is now glowing in a corner of my sitting room, not the full Gaudy Xmas dressing, you understand, just some ''tasteful/arty string lights....joy every evening/ gloomy afternoon. I don't care what any visitors think..It gives me so much joy!
mhp  What a lovely story and I am so glad it brings you joy sitting in the corner with its joyful arty;) lights twinkling brightlySounds wonderful.I think this sums up this whole kondo way of life. It brings you joy and who cares what anyone else thinks. That is going on my mental list along with 'does it really matter'
Bringing me joy at the moment are two baby wild rabbits that are living in one of my flower bedsThink they must have lost their mum as they have been there about 2 weeks now and were really tiny but a bit bigger now.
People have seen them and said you want to get rid of them they will eat all your plants. Who cares if they eat my plants they will grow again. They will make holes in the grass.Who cares I will fill them in again. The rabbits are not your problem its my garden my grass why do you feel you have to give an opinion.
They bring me joy who cares what you think and does it really matter if they are living there they are happy and content. So they are bl**dy well staying !

One of the things I discovered when turning out the chest of drawers was scented drawer liners - still in the box - that I'd been saving (for what?). They are now IN the drawers, not in the box! I usually use spare wallpaper or lining paper.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.0

Morning all
Mavvy what a lovely person you are sharing your garden with those little bunnies, obviously they are wild and free to come or leave as they please but as long as they stay I'm sure they will bring you joy.
Taking cakes to school this morning for tomorrow's fete and staying to weed so the grounds look nice tomorrow as well Then got paid stuff. I'll try and get some kondoing done this afty if I get a chance as I want to add a bit mo to the CS bags before they leave In The morning.
Have a lovely day allSPC~12 ot 124

OK. Going to be brave. Because there is such support and no judgement on this thread. Huge confession coming up … hangs head in shame ….
I have never lined drawers with anything. My drawers are clean but bare.
What am I missing? Seriously, purple and cats and other loveliness aside (and those honestly would be enough to appeal to me) … I can see scented. But beyond that, what is the point? I feel I'm missing something and moving towards many more drawers in the whole vertical storage fold malarkey so would like enlightenment pretty please.
Please don't evict me for ignorance or whatever heinous sin of omission unlined drawer ignorance exposes …..Fleabay + Weebuy + Gumfree since started diary 94 items sold, £649.71 clear profit0 -
I've never lined my drawers either.
Picked up the book from the library and will read it over the weekend.
Have read the thread from begining , kondoded underwear and other drawers.
Also done paperwork and photos, I know not in the right order but they need sorting out at that time.
Will do it in proper order after reading book."When one door closes another door opens; but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us" Alexander Graham Bell0 -
I'm de lurking to comment that I have no drawers in my bedroom, let alone anything to line them with...

Ive never felt the need to line my drawers either. Occasionally i empty the contents out and vacuum the insides but thats as far as it goes. I think you lot are one step ahead of me but i'll keep reading. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
The top drawer in my dressing table (shallow centre drawer) and the top drawer in my CoD are both lined in baize that my late dad acquired about 45 years ago, it gives a nice smooth base for tights & my assortment of plastic fruit trays holding knickers, essential komono etc.
The only other lined drawers are holding DH's socks & boxers (1982 newspaper!) and the CoD & DT in the guest room which have wallpaper leftover from the walls2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
