Greenbeei have tried, she knows really! I try and stay out of there, will just go and try and stay very calm when she is ready for me to help, even if it all just gets put in the attic which is what I predict will happen. I guess she will be ready to kondo when she's ready, definitely won't push it!
    Off to cinema now;)

… and throwing in some frozen berries discourages the volcano too :)
(to be clear this refers to microwave oats and not teenage bedrooms / spiders)

Oh my goodness, that was an eye opener!

I've just Kondoed my clothes. All of them. To put this in context, I'd already had a massive clear out (things I don't like, the worn out, not worn in 2 years, too fat for now etc.) as part of previous efforts. I have one small wardrobe and one chest of drawers.

After putting everything in one room, handling it and only picking out what I love, I've filled 4 massive bin liners, which are now in the car about to go to the charity clothes bin.

I live in leggings, but every one of the things I really loved is a dress. How weird.

I think the talking to one's clothes bit is v slightly bonkers, but doesn't it work brilliantly, as a way of letting go items that you still like, but not quite enough?!

I can see why people get so evangelical about it.

This made me :rotfl: I might even give it a try and lob frozen berries at my teenagers to see what effect it has;)

Back from dentist, given three options, do nothing and risk infection or abscesses, have it taken out and the wisdom will creep across and fill the space but may not stay upright and that means I can't opt for an implant or denture in the future as the space won't be there. Or stick a temp filling in to save the root for a bit longer and delay the need to make a decision.
Ive gone for the temp option but in all honesty I know I won't go for the implant as he told me that would be around the £1,500 mark:eek:

Nipped in shop for salad on way back and looked briefly at the sale shelf of ice cream scoops and petty plastic glasses for outdoor dining, yes very pretty but I have really glassware and disposable tumblers should children need drinks and I don't use an ice cream scoop a spoon works we'll, so it all stayed looking very pretty in the shop.

I love coming home from work and reading all the great posts on here! Hollyboll -- do you think the berries might also work on a 45 year old who seems to own 90,000 single socks, none of which match, but who will NOT throw them out? Lol

Looking forward to getting stuck in to some Kondoing after dinner - sorting paperwork in front of the tv - forbidden I know but I'll be stuck on the sofa so might as well ..?

Have already Kondoed the post - envelopes out, contents shredded, one lone book arrived (recommended on another thread plus one I've been wanting for ages and it went straight into the nice, neat bookcase instead of lurking on the table with the other cr*p, erm I mean unKondoed stuff!
    Looking ahead

iqueenwe have been through a lot, and I wouldnt dream of being bossy, I only need to help because she can't move stuff under the bed etc in case of spiders, wouldn't get rid of anything she doesn't want to. Bit of a catch 22 because she needs my help but is stressed too, will leave it today though she is not in the mood, will help when asked.

Sorry. :o I was joking, but in a hurry and could have worded it better. You and I seem to be on the same wavelength, so I'm sure you wouldn't make any thoughtless mistakes. :)

I was thinking back to a few years ago, when adult children (all live at great distance) held a pow-wow and decided that I was mentally ill hoarder, rather than just lazy. They 'kindly' told me that they had decided to help me, by clearing my house into storage, one would put me up for a fortnight and the rest would clean and decorate my house, before 'helping me to decide what would go back in'.

I graciously thanked them and tried to explain why I was refusing. By the time they had finished about my 'ingratitude', I was wishing that I did live in another mental dimension! :rotfl:

If you let me know where to come, I'll put the spiders outside for your DD! :D I'm sure she will eventually, be asking for your help! :)

Just a comment on microwave porridge - I have this at least twice a week for winter breakfasts. Porridge and water in bowl, m'wave for 1 minute, stir, m'wave for another minute. I watch it during the second minute as it can tend to "volcano" but I've never had it actually boil over. Serve as you like (with milk, cream, salt, jam, brown sugar, golden syrup, sliced banana etc.).

My favourite breakfast oats is porridge oats in a bowl with berries and almonds, and top-of-the-milk poured over: a sort-of muesli but less expensive than made-up mueslis and no added sugar. I've eaten this for Sunday breakfast for well over 30 years and still enjoy it!

Pre-low-carb, I used to love home-made muesli and 'top-of-the-milk'. For a rare treat, I still do it, but only when I have some single cream to lob on! :D

I make instant ice cream with frozen berries. Pour some double cream into a bowl, add a little sugar, and frozen berries. Mix, and eat! Mmmmm!
