    May I join too please?

    Have done my clothes already.

Today I kondo'd a soap dish that has been annoying me as every time I use it I have to wash it! I decided I do not love it - so I've bought soap in a dispenser and the dish is off to the ch shop when I go on Thursday! Long way to go still and have mislaid the MK book my DH bought me for my birthday so will need to find that and see what's next!

Wecome aboard 'the good ship Kondo', just the two of us! :coffee:

Congratulations with the good start on clothes. You're obviously beginning to feel the 'woo', as you are noticing 'off piste' items that don't bring joy. :rotfl:

It is what is, and we will all get it done, eventually, if we keep plodding on! ;)

  • I make porridge in the microwave, straight into the bowl I'm going to eat out of. No pot to wash up .... .

I've never managed to do that without it boiling all over the bowl and most of the microwave.

    Any tips?

I do have a resident porridge maker , but he only does it at weekends.

Couldn't Kondo today as I was on duty at work - ie tied to the desk and had to work late. I'd still like to try before bedtime but it can be draining just trying to make a decision after a hard day at work. Would it count if I Kondoed one thing? I've yet to check the post so hopefully I can Kondo that, or at least the envelopes, depending on the content.
    Looking ahead

Make sure that the container is big enough and tall enough! (Ask me how I know! :rotfl:)

You could also microwave it on a lower, intermitant, level, so you get time to check it, before it boils over! :D

Yep, one item is another bit of junk out! And we need to give a nod to normal maintenance, from time to time, amid this flurry of kondoing! ;)

Mav, I'm no gardening expert, but would it be possible to take a cutting from the tree? Perhaps pop over to the gardening forum and ask. They'd be able to tell you if it's possible and when is the best time to try and how to do it.
That way when you move, you'd still have part of the tree to nurture - it's offspring. :)

    This can work really well.

20+ years ago, I had to move from a house I adored, in a part of London I'll call X. I took a cutting from a buddlia tree in the garden. I have kept cuttings of that cutting ever since. There is a possibility we might buy a house back in that area, soon. The thought of taking the
"X buddlia" back to X, makes me quote tearful.

Of course maybe I just need to get out more! :rotfl:

Clutter free I understand your pain about the nail brush.

My bathroom is earthy and natural - beige and brown towels. It does look nice really.

A couple of mothers days ago my kids bought me a set for the bathroom. You know the sort soap dish, tumbler. They were so pleased with the purchase. ' we got you this mum cos we know you like things for the house'. How could I say the set was wrong- so wrong- in fact a deep turquoise acrylic set. Not the lovely stone sets I had my eye on.:(
I will kondo it but it will have to stay until I find the perfect replacement.

By the way, clutter freeBoots have white nail brushes for £1.49.

Didn't manage to kondo much yesterday apart from us pot of double cream and strawberries from the garden lol. I was looking for some lining fabric from my stash today and I've kondo'd loads of fabric to the local hospice shop and some net curtains to the CS and some good redundant curtains to frcycle. I also managed to relocate some paperwork to a suitable place and get rid of the box file. I've also now got a spare storage box :) I'm loving it!!

:rotfl:I remember a Christmas, when my youngest son, then about 12, bought me a pair of oven gloves. I had an inward laugh - they were expensive, and he had bought two, because he thought they should be pairs! I still have one, 20 years later! Never use it, and have burnt fingers to prove it, but it brings me joy, and a laugh hanging in the kitchen! Bless! :)
