I've just moved to Spain and in process of turning a holiday home into a home. Yeay!:D:D

Not a lot of storage space for the 73 boxes that are arriving in a few days  _pale_. 4 of those are extra storage - 2 narrow cupboards and 2 kitchen shelves - so am sure they will hold most of it :o. Hmmmm..... :rotfl::rotfl:

But the burning issue is, do you have a tumble dryer with :smileyhea an internal light :smileyhea in Spain??? ;)

Pooky hope your mum is better soon, it must be very hard for you both. Iqueen are those bags with the popper easy to refold? I am not sure they would work for me if I felt it was too much of a job to refold them. But would like less bulky options. It will be a real treat to have space in the boot to put shopping in, instead of it already being full of stuff I really don't need.
Have done stationery this morning, was quite easy and now is nicely organised in the desk drawers in little boxes and some pretty boxes I had kept from a cake slice and some cake forks I got for Xmas. Another carrier bag full of stuff out:T
Need to go to work now, but am waiting for a plumber as my daughters floor is soaking wet:( hope he does come today, it is starting to smell very damp despite having the dehumidifier running permanently, keep going everyone, will no doubt have a go at something else later, hope the business survives this Km lark, it is getting much less attention than usual ;)

    Yes cpt574 they are brilliant.

I manage to keep one or two in my handbag and use them constantly but struggle to always remember to take others which live in the car! Bought mine in B&M.
They dont take up much space (btw I am also in Wales)
  • Pooky, hope your mum makes a good recovery. Thank you so much for relaying her remark about the 'ironing' basket!

Recently my sister was visiting and offered to hang out my washing - 'where's your laundry basket ?' she asked. I had to admit that it is NEVER available for wet laundry because it's always full of stuff. Mostly odd socks (although these have miraculously disappeared since I Kondoed the sock drawer), stuff I don't want to iron because it's really difficult or I'm not sure I really want to wear it, or stuff that needs mending/turning up. It becomes invisible and meanwhile I struggle up the garden with armfuls of wet washing!

Guess what I'm going to be clearing today ...

cpt574 I have fold-up bags that are in a little drawstring pouch which is actually the corner of the opened bag. Supermarkets seem to sell seasonal variations, I have a little snowman from Christmas and a strawberry from last summer. They're really easy to fold up. Don't actually even need to fold anything, just shove it into itself and pull the toggle closed.

This is one of them. Not the greatest picture, but you get the idea...

Thanks cbsexec and june89 will keep an eye out for the bags. The one in the picture is really cute, and they look light, hate my handbag being heavy. On the Facebook, page people were posting pics of what is in their bags, I really wouldn't want to cart all that around with me....Really am going to go to work now:)

I am finished but lucky for me I have never been a hoarder and did de-clutter quite often never like this to be fair :eek:So was most likely a bit ahead of some lovely Konverts here :)
When I start something I just want it done and out of the way so went at it pretty fast :rotfl:Sometimes DH couldnt keep up with the bin bags that were chucked his way to take out.

Also will jump on to the flylady thread and see if that works for me will have to read it carefully as I know it works for a lot of people and it should be miles easier for me now :)
Keep going all you will get there at some point

    Well done, Mav! :T:T

The flylady thread on here is lovely - I drift in and out of it. It's Waaaaay less regimented than flylady website - it's mainly encouraging with ideas, rather than 'you must...' THe half hour challenges (HHC) are fun to join in, just because it motivates you (well, it does me!!) to see how much of your list you can get done in 30 mins. And rather than a room a week (as FL does), it's a room a day, which I much prefer :) x

Mav, I tried the Fly Lady method, years ago when she first started, but she didn't do anything for me - too regimented! :o

I think she is good for people who do not know how to clean and organise their time. I started out as a chambermaid in 'posh' hotels, so I can clean, on the other hand I don't take to being preached at! :( And rigid routines automatically cause me to rebel: I shall never be 'shining' my sink every night! :rotfl:

Thanks for this iQueen. I used to run my own cleaning company :rotfl:
So I should know how to clean and I do but sadly I can be really OCD about it :) I am an all or nothing person so do everything like a maniac or do nothing like a slob :rotfl:Just need to find a happy medium really.
I was also a chambermaid a long time ago.Lets just be thankful we dont have to clean all those rooms in that shorter time anymore.

Anyway on the cleaning front I have done ok today and a lot of rooms are looking so much better.Still a long way to go but will get there.
Thanks iQueen I really enjoy reading your updates and everyone elses.
Will see if flylady works for me dont know about the shiny sink thing  May fail at the first hurdle there :D

Mavvy moo - ask on here about flylady if you like, I ran the thread for years until last week, having a break whilst I hang out her and Kondo. They are very friendly and welcoming so will be happy to help.

I've been gardening, and paid stuff today so no kondoing but it has been on my mind, mainly what do I do with the 60 baby teeth I have in my jewellery box drawer?!
