I don't think this article has been mentioned: it is a 'photo essay' about the effect of Kondo-ing http://rvanews.com/news/a-true-account-of-the-life-changing-magic-of-tidying-up/124633

Wow you are all doing so well! :T
GreyQueen hope you feel better soon.
I'm still busy Kondoing the kitchen. Spent most of Monday on it and about an hour today. Only have one drawer left and the dresser to do. There's a lot of paint in the bottom of the dresser which hubby is going to put in the shed so that should free up some space.
Been very windy here today - managed to get 2 loads of towels washed, dried and back in the airing cupboard this afternoon.
Usually they'd be sitting in the basket waiting to be folded but I just wanted them tidied away.
Did anyone watch Couples Come Dine With Me on Friday (I think)? One couple were looking through a ladies wardrobe and they opened her drawers and marvelled that her undies were laying in colour sorted piles and how organised she was! I thought she's not folded them - mine look so much better!:rotfl:

Still in the zone !! Moved my son's room around to make better use of the space & it now has enough room to house his wardrobe (which had been in spare room). Bizaarely - it actually looks more spacious now even with the wardrobe in it!
My goal of a usable spare room is now within reach - All that's left in there is a set of shelves which will stay, lots of stuff to sell (which will go to CS if not sold by end Aug) and a few items like a suitcase, 2 heaters etc - that need to find another home. My current plan is to just have shelves & a small desk in that room. I want to be able to easily turn it into a bedroom to rent out to language students as a bit of a financial safety net when I go self-employed next year.
It's so nice to feel focused and motivated again :jShifting my energy for 20200 -

Brilliant link, thanks!
I'm definitely getting the inner changes from kondoing, that she mentions.
Mav, that blogger certainly believes in your whirlwind strategy, too.(Must admit, the collection of plates on her wall was too 'noisy' for me, though.
)
I didn't get as much as I intended, done today, but I did lose patience with 2 large boxes of komono (put by to wait for that category). Now have 1 small box of 'found' DIY komono, and the 'found' gardening komono is ready to go into the shed. The rest just got binned.
Binned some kitchen stuff, and vacuumed the bathroom, loo and the bits of the landing that are visible! (The vacuum cleaner nearly suffered a cardiac arrest - it thought it had at least another 3 months of undisturbed hibernation!) :rotfl:
Tomorrow, I have to go out, so I will sort out another carrier bag of books to donate, while I'm in the vicinity.Needs, NOT wants!

Hello Dancemum, course you can join us
Good luck in your kondo adventure, welcome to the kult!!
Had visitors over on Monday so my spare room has regressed slightly to contain some 'stuff' that needs sorting.
On the other hand my hallway looks lovely and so does the lounge!
I took a a bag of old compost and deceased houseplants to the HWRC - the ones that didn't survive my black thumb. On the plus side my amaryllis is looking quite lovely - in full bloom with two beautiful red flowers, and I think my Orchid is reviving slowly.
I am working through paper. Still. I have already cleared out several bags of the stuff over the past few months but I keep uncovering more! I think it's been breeding. I will get there - just keep swimming (through the paper sea!)
I have next Monday off so hoping to get some real progress done with paper komono. The rest of this week is a bit of a write off due to various commitments but I'm hoping that Monday will be a good day for kondoing.

Loft today as got to go up anyway as remembered all the big scatter cushions are up there go with my sofas that are going today. So thats another bin bag gone:) Also I have a leather scratch kit and cleaning kit which cost me about £40  That I never got round to using (as I couldnt find it ) so will give them that too as I am sure they can use it. Also a new throw still in the packet that really does not bring me joy will ask if they can use that.
What I never said was that my DH has been out of work since Feb when his contract finished and out of the Blue he has a interview today for a really good job with a Danish company :T
So I am keeping my fingers crossed and hope our new positive attitude and the KonMari factor plays a part
Good luck to everyone and keep smiling
