Wow. I'm super impressed that this book has had such an impact.
I now fold my socks.
I'll most likely be back here once I've read all hundred or so pages.0 -

Today I wore a blouse which had somehow got lost on the 3 ft hanging rail. Decided it's non-joyous, didn't cost me anything as was a maternal cast-off, and I shall donate it after it goes through the next laundry cycle.
I'm going to have a few things off that rail and onto my back, to check their joyousness quotient, and some may well be making a one-way trip into chazzerland.:rotfl::rotfl:Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Hi everyone, finding my normal housework easier to do now due to rooms keeping tidier, got into the loft again today, two more bags to go to the charity shop tomorrow. I have decided not to buy any clothes this year unless absolutely necessary after finding clothes in the loft still with the price tags on that I have previously bought and not worn. Lots of travel bags to come out of the loft tomorrow and they will go to CS Friday. Slowly getting there.0

I had until today a large envelope stuffed with unjoyous greetings cards, many from a charity who send a batch now and again, which I then pay for. While I am impressed by the talent of the disabled artists who designed them, I didn't actually like the cards enough to use them
. The envelope was so stuffed that whenever I opened the drawer, the cards would spill out
I went through them today, kept the ones I liked best and freecycled the rest, complete with the annoying envelope
They have gone to a lady who makes and sells cards for a local animal charity. I am not quite sure how you would use ready made cards to make new ones, but the lady was delighted to have them
The few remaining ones I have put into the bureau with the rest of the stationery. If they don't get used over the next few months, they will go as well.
The charity will probably send me another load now :eek:0 -

I went through my greetings card box about a week or so ago and got rid of the ones which I'll never use - I don't like them, so why would I want to send someone a card which I don't like?:p There were only a few (and luckily all in individual sealed clear bags, inc M&S ones), but they went off to the charity shop in one of my recent donation trips
There are a few slightly strange-ish ones remaining, but they are possibilities for children's parties - I shall revisit them again in about 6 months and probably cull more.
I also went through my under-bed stash of gifts - some purchased, some unwanted gifts for re-gifting. Again I got rid of some to charity - if I really disliked it (as was the case in a couple of instances) and/ or couldn't think of anyone who might like it instead - it went. I then made a list of what remains under there and have tried to allocate it to people on my gift list for this year. There are a few unallocated presents - but they are mainly children's presents, so these may go over the coming months with party invitations. Any left towards the end of the year which have become too young for probable & possible invitations will go to a nearly new sale in November for hopefully selling (good time for selling new and unwanted toys as people buy them for Xmas gifts). Unsold items will go to CS. (the other unallocated presents are some smellies which I will actually use myself if not gifted - and if I ever manage to use up my current stash!!:o!)
It was my birthday last week - somehow I did really well in not getting 'stuff'. I had 3 beautiful bouquets of flowers - all still blooming wonderfully - one of which even came with a cute disposable vase, several boxes of chocolates and 2 cakes (yum - not all chocs consumed as yet - but I don't forsee them hanging around as clutter for too long!!!:rotfl::rotfl:), a huge bunch of rainbow coloured helium balloons (pretty and thoroughly enjoyed by the small children), 2 fruit trees for the garden, my fave smellies in a beautiful box, more nice smellies in a handy looking wicker basket, a bottle of prosecco and a bottle of Shiraz (hic!), a smelly candle (not a fragrance I like - so has been allocated to re-gifting for a birthday later this month, as I know the intended new recipient adores that fragrance), some bakeware (requested but sadly not joyous when I saw it for real as opposed to just online - so is going back for a refund), money & giftcards (for purchase of new joyous items when these are seen at any time), tickets to a concert and a pair of earrings (to replace a near identical pair which have a faulty clasp and are not joyous as one often falls out) All great items - and most are consumable/ an experience, which is fab!
