They do stay tidy, don't they - even in my house!! It is astonishing to me, too. I see things with new eyes. Yesterday I noticed a pile of papers on a bookcase, what is that, thought I? Turns out it is a pile of stuff for DD's university applications - she is already in her second term, and applications were a year and a half ago. That's how long they'd sat there. At least it was easy to let go of.
I am having to do mine piecemeal - today i am venturing into the walking boot and wellies box  I am a little nervous - there might be s p i d e r s
VJ's mum How is your DD getting on? I hope she's pleased with the course she chose and has settled in all right

Yes that's very helpful GQ, thank you!
There's no sentiment in the items (apart from some slight negative sentiment towards the broken necklace which was a gift from an ex). The chains are mostly too short for my liking so I have one longer chain that I swap between a couple of pendants. I'd rather get rid of the clutter and a little bit of cash from it is better than nowt. Every penny and all that."Does it spark joy?" - Marie Kondo

Sterling silver is so-called because our silver coins used to be of that purity.

Might as well liquidate your assets then. My 2 tiny stud earrings and one sleeper in 9 ct gold netted me £3.40 and I discovered that 925 silver is now commanding a whole 25p/ gramme, must've been some time since I last checked.
To add to Boffin Bank (consider this stolen, as I am also a magpie for random info) that up until 1919 British silver was 925. From 1920-1946 it was 50/50 silver and base metal, 1947 onwards, just base metal. So pre-47, as it's called, and pre-1920 silver money is worth considerably more than face value.

Oh Hi - thanks for asking. She loves it!! It is as though it is tailor made for her - dance, acting, costume, singing - the works. She has however got even more dramatic - who knew that was possible :rotfl:I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Lurker popping in to say I finally got rid of 20+ items from my wardrobe I had been meaning to for ages. Some didn't fit some where tatty and some I liked but always had an excuse for not wearing so they are gone xHave a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0

This weekend will present my biggest Kondo challenge so far....
I'm having a party tomorrow evening. My house is pretty small so some things will have to be moved from their allocated Kondo spot & there's only a small box room to [STRIKE]dump[/STRIKE] store things in as our bedrooms will need to be used & therefore tidy. I have started early and resisted the temptation to just shove things into drawers & cupboards so that's a good start. My main concern is I will be too lazy/tired to put things back before the end of the weekend - if it carries over into next week once I'm back to work) it's likely to take a very long time until I get it back to normal.
I will pop back on here on Sunday for some motivation and to report on progress :-).Shifting my energy for 2020

during counselling today I mentioned this approach to my counsellor and told her it was time for me to sort the house and STUFF I have not been able to cope with - a hoarder of sorts - but its more like not being able to let go of things that wrap me up and keep the world that hurts me away
just knowing I have finished tights socks knickers and bras has made so much difference - weekend off as I am transporting a rescue dog tomorrow and sunday need to pick up an ebay purchase but come monday look out all those vest tops

Enforced kondoing here...........really not enjoying it:mad: What was a huge house project for the summer has suddenly got to be done in next 3 weeks:eek: I had planned to spend the next 3/4 months gently in kondo mode I now find myself in full kondo panic. NOT GOOD! I keep telling myself that in the long run it will be fine and I/we will appreciate it. The process is just a little too brutal:(
The only KM method I am using really is 'does this bring me joy' There is certainly no categories going on - its more as I see it/put my hand on it, whatever drawer/cupboard/shelf/box. Maybe its better when the mind is focussedBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi
