but I did so a preliminary cull as I was picking things up - now what do I do with things that spark joy but dont fit - I put on 4 clothes sizes due to medication - but some stuff still sparks joy - should I keep it and see if the weight I am losing now continues to go down or should I just pass it forward to someone who can enjoy it now - bit of a dilemma as I am not working so money is a bit tight - but in true kondo style I suppose I should just get rid
apart from that had a good day - kondoed the handbag - how many reciepts does a girl need to keep
If you're planning to be happier with less, then just get rid. I've got some things that don't fit. I've yet to make a final decision on which I'm going to have a go at altering, but after that, the rest of them will go. If I have to have a few new things because I don't have enough to wear, then it will have to be attended to. I think if I lose the weight I will be so pleased, then I would be happy to try and organise new.[SIZE=-1]"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. i have survived the walking boot and welly kondo - not a s p i d e r to be seen:T though some manky bags were chucked out sharpish.
I know she says not to buy storage, but i am trading a recycling box for one of these

nowhere for the 8 legged creatures to lurk then!! I may need two (stacked on top of each other) - racks for walking boots and trainers, top rack for wellies.
Even OH agreed to chuck out an old coat.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
I was smiling to myself about the people being Konverted by others. It made me imagine an army of Marie Kondos marching around the country, stopping people in shops and saying, "you will be de-cluttered". Like an army of Dr Who's Cybermen.
I will be Kondoing this weekend but too tired at the mo. I am thinking kitchen cupboards.De cluttering Konvert.Getting there

Good Evening Konverts,
At the weekend 2 black bin bags were liberated from the attic and today i got around to looking into them.............. one double duvet to be kept and set of linen for duvet to be kept. The rest was linen so faded and bobbly i would be embarrassed to hang them on the washing line.
I revisited my wool stash and 80 percent of it has been given to the after school club along with nearly all my spare knitting needles. How many pairs of 4mm needles do i need?
It's proving to be sheer madness the carp i have held onto over the years.
I too am amazed several times a day at how tidy all the kondoed areas are staying.
I am desperate to do DS's room but he will be 27 this year and would not appreciate it (quite rightly) so i just have to resist.
well done everyone

Is anyone else losing patience with random komono that catches the eye?
I've passed over items (off piste,) that I noticed, thinking "I'll decide about that when I get to its category". Now, I'm becoming SO intolerant of clutter, that I'm just ditching this sort of stuff immediately, without a moment's consideration. I'm getting utterly ruthless! :j Threw the toaster out today (among other things)!
So far, I've not regretted a single item - in fact, I can't even remember most of what I have parted with!
I just feel so GOOD when I chuck something in the CS bag, the recycling, or the bin! I get a real high!:rotfl:Needs, NOT wants!
No food waste since November 2010. :j

A convo with my Dad this evening revealed that he has been pulling stuff about in their bedroom and has decided certain things can go, not things that normally live in bedrooms, and his bicycle can go to the place which refurbishes them. He said once again at his age (73) how much Stuff can he possibly use? I pointed out that when the inevitable happens to him and Mum, someone will have to sort it out and of the two of us 'kids' I am the one with the organisational skills (and the chronic fatigue syndrome) and that someone will be me.
Lost 2 hours earlier this evening by lying down in bed for a rest after work and waking up much later. I figure the body takes what it needs, so it was all good. Will be having a pootling-around day tomorrow, so will see if there is anything which needs to be kondo'd outta here. I have my eye on a few things which are becoming less joyful.
The library visit involved depositing 2 books and fetching back 3. I am a voracious reader and they should be back within the week. I love my library with a passion. Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Something I've learned with gaining and losing weight is that your body shape can change. I kept smaller clothes and when I fitted back in them they didn't sit right, or look right. Also, I was older and some of the clothes didn't suit me... I'm now smaller than I ever was so all those clothes are gone, half of them never got worn again either...0

I had to go to the library today and hand in my KM book as I was unable to renew it because someone had reserved it  but I guess the next person to read it will be

Had a look at books today and have managed to declutter more of them. I can't make quick decisions on books but one thing I have done is put together some books that I do love.
Most of my books are sorted into different genres, but it is nice to have my very best favourites in one place.
Then I have a stack of books partly read, others waiting to be read, and others to be re-read. I really should not have taken 6 books out of the library last time I went (I only read the MK book in the month), also I have the one for my book club to read and 4 that people have lent me.

:T Skeeter, I think what you've said is valid for a lot of us, it's not just numbers on the scale/ sizes on the label, it's shape and appropritateness. As well as lifestyle changes which might well mean that we have no requirement for that type of clothing any more.
In a way, I found it quite soothing to be told by my podiatrist that I should not wear shoes with a heel higher than 1 inch and that I need to wear lace ups to hold them on well (I have prescription orthotics in my shoes). It removed the social obligation which we ladies can sometimes feel to wear high heels and eliminates some choice.
Choice is always held up to us as if it's an unreservedly Good Thing. Oftentimes, I think it's a mixed blessing and that too much choice leads to stress, anxiety and constant discontent, as we fret about what would have been better chosen.
My workweek has ended and I have awarded myself a rest-day. yesterday evening's crash-out revealed that I have over-tired myself so there will be no allotment for me today. I shall pootle, as I call it. I have a few things ready to hiff out and will scrounge around and see if I can make a chazzer donation bag. I'm going to cull some more plastics. I released quite a lot of things of this nature already, but am itching to do more.
Whenever librarians are gathered together, don't you think they'll be asking themselves what is this business with the MK book and why are people going so mad for it?
Oh, and last night Dad mentioned that there is a charity in town which reconditons bicycles and that he would offer them his when he saw them advertise again. I exp that they might do that seldom because of costs and better to google them. But I did it myself and sent him a link to their website via email late last night.
There's many a slip betwixt tongue and lip, and many a decluttering good intention falls through, so I thought I'd be my usual bossy moo and help matters a long a bit.:pEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I think I may have made a Konvert
went to hairdressers yesterday to have long consult about my next cut and colour (have hair done at college so a student) it kept getting silly when tutor said her name as we both answered (its not a common name either) I took my book to read and H and I were talking generally about the priciples I I was reading out chunks - about thanking things etc)so a good laugh was had - she admitted to me about being a hoarder and the fact she needs the landlord in to do some work on the property but is far to embarrassed to let him in and things have got to the stage she wont let friends in (similar to myself) she photoed the book so she can buy it and we have decided to work on our own homes together at the same pace if one of us cant cope for a few days we stop meet for a coffee and talk things out so we can continue - now to have this support is going to make so much difference on the bad days
and its great to get my first Konvert
today I need to clear a drawer so that socks knickers bras and thights can all be in the three top drawers rather than two large ones - so basically condensing to half the space - then later today counselling (not ready to talk about this yet)
have a great Kondo day everyoneEmergency fund £10,000
Several categories with savings in
Cars, house maintenance, birthdays
Etc I have about 10 categories
Really happy to be debt free after being a compulsive spender0
