Lucky for me, I had a few quid left on my Amazon giftcard, so I purchased the kindle book. I will have to declutter incrementally, but think I will find value in some of the ideas proposed in the book. Like anything else, take what is useful to you, leave what is not.

Another one who has been reading from the start and wanted to pop in and say

    Now look you lot! :-)

I started declutering at Christmas but have now started KM'ing whilst getting ready for work, making me run late. . . . So can't wait for the weekend to do some more. Loving all the tips so thanks everyone x

  • Hi!
I ordered this book into the library yonks ago after reading about it in a magazine. I got to the top of the list just before Xmas and I have just finished reading the book. I LOVED it and have "done" all my clothes, all of DH's, DD's & DS's undies and airing cupboard.

The results are amazing. I've found that anything stored in drawers now takes up half the space it used to. I can now see exactly where each item is. I keep going to my bedroom and opening the drawers to take a peek because they look so lovely. This definitely gives me joy :)

I was worried that rolling tops etc so small would crease them but it doesn't. It's a brilliant idea to get all your clothes out on the bed and then sorting into tops, trousers etc before sorting as you can see immediately what needs to go by sorting into groups.

I'd love to hear other people's ideas for the kitchen, fridge and hats/scarves/gloves (currently stuffed in the top of the coat cupboard).

I'm not about to start saying hello to the house, thanking my shoes or stroking pot plants though ;)

    Xx

Welcome to all newbies and hello to all
When I first started Kondoing I couldn't sleep getting up to clear out drawers ect. Now I'm nearly done I'm sleeping right through.
I got rid of a lot of stuff yesterday. I dropped off the bags at the CS and thought I would find myself lingering to just take a look.
So chuffed at myself I walked straight back out.
Please remember to register for gift aid aid your CS they get the tax back
I saw some lovely cerise pink clothes hangers in wilkos
I may go back today and get them for my remaining loved clothes
I only need 30 now that's coats jackets dresses everything really as I don't have room to fold much
I only have a beside set of drawers and a hanging rail in a cupboard.
Now I just need to tackle the paper mountain aaargh!

Right just having a nice cuppa made in my lovely clean severely decluttered kitchen. Have opened my mini filofax found on a recent excavation in my bedroom. I've meal planned for the week and wrote out a shopping list.
Jotted down on mini post it notes what my jobs are for the day
Friday is extra weekly chores day for me bed changing, bread making ect generally getting the place ready for the weekend. Weekend should be for relaxing as much as you can that is.
I can't get much done on weekends anyway as 2 big sons around (think Great Danes) play station challenges (big kids!!)sky sports and sweaty sports gear flying around yuk. I'm off out seeing friends so will get back to kondoing on Monday.

    Best of British.

My jumper draw is a joy to behold.

I am looking at storage solutions in lakeland, tubs for the drawer from hell, those drawer divider doobries , bakeware stands.

    I am a changed woman - honest :D
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • I'm planning another Kondoing session either today or over the weekend but I have a lot of folded tee shirts, jumpers and things on shelves in my wardrobe. Some of them are just above eye level so can anyone advise me what to do?

Do I need to buy some sort of storage boxes for them or what do others do?

Konmari would recommend shoeboxes. But don't put lids on them – that leads to stacking, which is not recommended!
