Littlegreenparrot, I've had a thought about your banana boxes for underbed storage. What about making cloth covers for them, to stop fluff landing inside? This happens in even the best maintained homes as it is shed by the bedding. My underbed area has to be a very active storage space, so this is something I am well aware of.
You could use something like old duvet covers, cut out a rectangle just a wee bit bigger than the top of the box (plus seam allowance) then cut 4 rectangles to match each of the sides (plus seam allowance) and enough for a channel to run thin elastic around the bottom. Once assembled, you have a tailored cover which would hold onto the banana box.
Apart from some elastic, and a c.s. duvet cover is you haven't fabric in the stash already, all it would take would be your time, and it's straight stitching all the way.
I also have made a tailored cover for a metal hanging file box, with the skirt of it made out of an old valance, to match my bed's valance. It blends it into the background and serves as a bedside table of sorts as there is no room for a proper one.
I took a wheelbarrow of green waste (counch grass tussocks, mainly) to the tip from my allotment today, and picked up a broken bucket from underneat the stand tap and a couple of other bits of rubbish from the public domain on my way to the dump. The bit of metal went into the metal section, the broken brick into the rubble section, the grass into the green waste, and only the badly-broken bucket (itself a bit of packaging) had to go into the rubbish-rubbish. Very satisfying to do.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I am full of joy this evening!
Despite being faced with a daunting amount to achieve single-handed, I continued the kondo of my office at work, and got rid of a lot more old books and paperwork, plus re-homed a now not needed storage unit. That allowed me to re-position other units to make them much more accessible, and I finished in time to sit and admire the fruits of my labours for a few minutes before home time.
There's still more sorting and grouping of materials into these units needed, but to have the framework of the room sorted out, and my working conditions thus much improved, is progress indeed. My colleague who was off today will get a huge surprise when she opens up on Monday!0 -
Looking forward to a day of Kondoing tomorrow. OH is at work so I should have space and time to get stuff done.
I have made my list in my lovely notebook that brings me joy and tomorrow is Kitchen crockery and food cupboards.
I might even be able to clear the tools and stuff from the bedroom OH as plastered so that when he comes back from work he can get a bit done - before he collapses in a heap. Poor love!De cluttering Konvert.Getting there

Re spare pens - pass them on to friends who work in schools. I can't have been the only teacher who had pupils who would "forget" at regular intervals that they had to write with something...:)I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0

Evening MKers! I have been planning to start Kondoing my house this weekend but have already tried a bit of Somosaing a few carrier bags and have ranger-rolled a few bits to practise.
I have clutter all over the place and one room is entirely crammed with bags of STUFF, so imagine my delight at finding the first 3 bags I picked up were full of other empty carrier bags! Needless to say I have just spent a very happy (and IMHO productive) half hour, producing more beautiful plastic triangles! I count that as 3 bags Kondoed into 1 (well, 1/2 of a bag) and already a bit of space visible on the floor!
I am aiming to sort my clothes properly tomorrow and to tackle the kitchen surfaces BUT I am out to watch the 6 Nations Rugby soon (only at the local pub) so I am not too sure about what time I will actually start ;-)
Happy Friday everyone!

Have bought the book and am enjoying reading it. I have started with folding carrier bags, then sorted my clothes, all folded as cannot get on with ranger rolling, shoes sorted, bags sorted except for one, just cannot seem to find the enthusiasm to do this last one so I have put it back in the wardrobe to do another time. Make up sorted, excess make up bags to go to CS. Towels and bed linen all sorted, some put in bags for CS. Toiletries in bathroom sorted into categories, will not have to buy shampoo, conditioner, shower gel or soap for quite some time. Just finished the cookery books and have sorted all the loose recipes into their relevant piles and put into a bag. I am hoping to be able to tackle the loft when all the rooms are finished, it seems a mammoth task at the moment but I shall keep on Kondoing each day until its all finished0

Have been busy re-organising my kitchen drawers today, they've not been sorted for about 10 years I think  ...they now look beautiful and half empty, but organised.
I also discovered the piano again, it was covered in junk and piles of 'stuff' so it can now breathe again, and may very well start to get played again!!
The salvation army were very happy to take my bags of ripped and old clothing which they sell as rags.
I feel like a different person and keep asking people to admire my drawers!!:rotfl::rotfl:0 -
One of my readers sent me over here .. and so glad that she did.
Started today ...
I have started ..... long way to go but this does make perfect sense.
