  • Right, I've moved the gas and electric onto a cheaper tarrif and I've arranged the car tax to come out monthly. Also chased up a PPI claim that I had but that isn't looking fruitful.

    A good day's (MSE) work I think.

Happy Monday everyone and welcome to March!! Spring may be on it's way :)

Well I'm sure we've had a weekend but it's gone that quickly that I need to check. I didn't get any work in so managed to get some other bits and pieces done.

We've had kids parties (I hate going to these, I just don't click with the other parents who obviously socialise together), lunches out, family visits, grocery shops (to meal plan and list), baking and lots of fun. In between that I must admit I've been a bit stroppy due to monthly timings - tmi sorry!

So I did the grocery shop, came in on target with voucher. Spent exactly £40 and got £5 off so £35 of budget spent so far. Then yesterday I made flapjacks, choc chip cookies and bread rolls. First time I've made the rolls so when they looked like rolls I was impressed. Not tasted them yet but will do for lunch so fingers crossed.

I found out that ham goes further than tuna in our house, despite tuna be the filling of choice in packed lunches. So I'm alternating between the 2.

I've been working away on my knitting, the scarf for Mum and had an idea about fudge for Dad for Easter. Homemade of course using things we have in.

Also I noticed over the weekend how little we spend on clothes and "things" which other people around us do. I really am conditioned now and it's happened without me fully realising.

So all good in my land today (despite DS still being poorly with this bug that keeps going round and round 3rd time he had it now, poor lad).

Right, brief check of accounts is all that is needed today. The first of the month direct debits have gone out but the cheques haven't been cashed so I'm sitting tight. Payments that were made have all gone through so it was a pleasant surprise to see the CC balance starting with a 7 (which I knew, just nice to actually see with my own eyes). I actually feel like I am getting somewhere now.

This will all be worth it. 655 days to go and counting and in the mean time we're living life to the full, learning new things and enjoying being alive :D

    Morning world

Another quick check in. I've just realised that although my income is more than my outgoings this month, it's not in the right order. Basically some won't be in, in time for it to be taken out. So rather annoyingly, but practically I've arrange a £500 overdraft in case s0ds law happens and the people decide to cash the big chqs on the same day. They never have before, but if I don't plan for it, they will. If I don't need the OD then I will close it next month.

I'm out for lunch today, one of those I couldn't avoid, so will order from the happy hour menu and drink water - that's more than enough for me. It's a welcome break on my long day though.

Knitting coming along nicely and the home baking is proving a hit so happy in my world today :)

Glad all is well with you! The OD sounds like a sensible back up plan.

Make sure you enjoy your lunch, funny how things like that feel like real treats nowadays, even when done as cheaply as possible! :D

You are so right PP - and I did enjoy every last bit of it actually. Cost me £6 but wasn't disappointed and it did feel like a treat.

Tonight I have some sausages defrosted and a packet of something in the pantry so I'll be making that tonight for tomorrow's or Thursday's tea. We will have home made pizza too on the alternate night. Hope it works out.

Had a bit of hoo-ha with job 2 this morning over my invoice but to cut a long story short it worked out in my favour and I feel alot happpier. I'm taking next week off job 2 with all of the travelling I am doing so will be back on with them the week after. In the mean time I'm going to see what I can get on ebay and a mystery shop I've signed up to.

Also my bonus amount is in but I've not been told it yet - it will be paid in March's pay (25th). I know what I "need" to match my forecast so let's hope it's around that amount.

Bonus was more than I expected - first time that has happened :)

I will pay my student loan off and put some to CCV then outstanding bills and get in front with some others. In two years, it will be going towards a house :)

Goodness me you are focused and charging ahead.
Naughty pony, I know how you feel, very frustrating. We had lots of ponies over the years and all of them bucked, one was a bolter and one was a rearer she would actually throw herself over backwards with DD on her, the first time I said okay maybe it was a fluke, second time DD never rode her again. Our younger one is playing up at the moment, bucking for Britain and hyper speedy losing the plot, same time each year, I'm going to try magnesium for her, I'll let you know how we get on x
