Serena glad your first day back was ok, hope you sleep better tonight.

    Penguin wlecome.

Well done to all newbies, delurkers, returners. No playing catch up today is done, start a fresh tomorrow.

In cat news, gingers have made friends with one of the older cats and were all in the same basket earlier.

DW on, off to bed. Walking first thing tomorrow and then the rest of the day will be the tree coming down I think.

nikki when we had our boiler serviced a couple of years ago by british gas they didn't condemn the boiler but said changes needed to be made as regulations had changed. none of these affected the running of the boiler and since BG failed to service the boiler properly and it was pumping out carbon monoxide we have a detector. We had the boiler serviced again by an independent gas company and none of the changes were mentioned. Was BG trying to pull a fast one? Glad you have got your boiler sorted.

Sounds like it, but the independent gasman who I know and trust has agreed that the jobs should really be done so he's going to do them. It'll be a hell of a lot cheaper than the £610 BG wanted to charge  Glad I asked for a quote now as the gasman today was able to see exactly what they said ;) The problem seems to be a filter has never been cleaned out, and was completely clogged up with 4 years silt, but we'll wait and see if that has solved that issue!

So today I've done the bathroom instead of the kitchen, but I'm working on that as well :p I'm getting there slowly. Problem is the house is so warm compared to what its been the past 2 days I'm feeling sleepy and don't want to do anything :rotfl: Tomorrow I'm off out to an appointment in town (walking there and back) so I won't get to fly much. I'll finish the kitchen when its bathroom day ;)

So my list is looking like this:
All week: DD revising for exams starting 21st. :(
Mon: Start food record again, [STRIKE]see landlord at 5pm for cash reimbursement after I paid for BG to come out,[/STRIKE] Mr A (soap powder), fill wheelie bin
Tue: Bin Day, clear rubbish from my room (broken toys etc from purging bedrooms), IM appoint 10am (walking so leave at 9am), quick errands in town with cash, Newsletter for work & put books out if possible (can be Wednesday if necessary),
Wed: Meter readings (to do at 10.30am exactly 1 year to the date/time from last years January reading ;))
    Thu: Order to submit
    Fri:
    Sat: No Ex
Sun: Ex here, money to DD.

    Misc:
Update/sync diary (comp & book) - nearly there.
    Food inventory
    Meal/bake plan
    Toots list
    HH paperwork - planner
Walk 7miles minimum for week (Set myself a target of walking 365 miles this year ;))

Monday ~ Kitchen and Dining area
    15 minutes...

    mop the floors
    Clear and wipe the worksurfaces
    39 minutes to spare...
    Wash the units and appliances.
Give the pan cupboard a good scrub out..
Wipe over window sills and shine the taps
    Got an hour...
[STRIKE]Sort paperwork, warranties, insurance docs, phone contracts etc into a file so they are easily accessible and make notes of when things need renewing![/STRIKE]
    Dust and deweb

    Extras
    • Binbag dance
    • HHI
    • Thoroughly clean a small appliance (descale kettle/decrumb toaster for example)
    • Make sure diaries/calendars are up to date with appointments!!!
Off to fill my wheelie bin. I think I can squeeze 2 bags from my room in ;) Then back out to do a third load of dishes. Trying to catch up on the non-urgent stuff I've left soaking between batches for the past 2 days. :o Then I'm putting the house to bed & heading up there myself. Hoping I can get up at 6am tomorrow and fly before I leave :D
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!

Cleared down dejunked and wiped 3 shelves
Scrubbed all the coving stuff on the top cupboards

And still doesnt seem like Ive done much :( and I didnt even make it to the dining room

Hope everyone's first day back at work went well. Mine was pretty non descript apart from receiving my performance rating for last year which should hopefully mean a bonus in March.
Dusty - Good to hear the shoe saga has been resolved. It reminded me of my shoe saga when I was trying to find the gold sandals for my wedding, do you remember, although it was 5 years ago now?
Wendywitch - hope car isnt too expensive poorly and that DD does appreciate you
    Bunbun2 - welcome
Honey Bear - it is lovely that you give compliments. Some people really find it difficult to receive compliments due to lack of confidence or self esteem but it does eventually get easier for them.
Loudmouth - welcome and chip in when you can. I'm only just back after being absent for a while but everyone is lovely and doesnt mind who pops back for a cuppa and a catchup on the gossip
    Minerva_windsong - ditto
Sarah Shattered - Hello, nice to 'see' you and glad to hear you are on the mend. I was looking at an old thread the other day and wondered where you were.
Klfin10 - welcome, hope you enjoy it here and achieve a sparkly home in the process
Elasticmoney - thats a huge saving on your car insurance, perhaps DH and I should consider changing ours over (not that he would have that as even my car is all in his name)
Mrs Moneypenny - well done on your first aid update, always something worth doing as the personal knowledge is worth far more than the wet wipe and stick plaster
Narco - like Dusty said youve had a rough patch so things do go to pot a little then and you know its not normal behaviour for you. Before they get to the slimy stage dont forget carrots can be made into lovely cake or a spicy soup.
Dusty - the flinging is refreshing isnt it!
Valli - 5 pages - you know it wont stay like that :DFroddington - glad Mischief is improving
Bunbun2 - briliiant that your OH noticed. Once you get on top of it youll find youre wiping stuff down while the kettle boils
Bossy - never mind the MIL, you made the point and the kiddlywinks will know tomorrow
Natty - Blimey cant believe you wont ever get to straighten your arm again

Right thats it for tonight best get head in bed. See you all after work tomorrow
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

Oooh while I think of it, did we declare our Secret Santa partners or did I miss that while being a bit incapacitated..lol

Went to the fracture clinic today, very short and sweet appointment. Lovely doctor though, and his registrar was even nicer...hubbba hubba ;) Elbow still broken, got to go back in 6 weeks for another check up. Won't get the full use of my arm back as in won't be able to completely straighten the arm ever again. Still not able to drive, hopefully I am going to test it in three weeks time to see if I can use the gear stick without wincing in pain. Good news is I can now put my deodorant on the opposite armpit, but still can't do up my bra strap at the back yet...a bit to go yet. Have to do my exercises to keep the arm mobile but use the sling when I am out or it is really hurting. Thankfully he thinks I won't need surgery to pin it as I have a reasonable usage in the mobility.

Flying wise I have decluttered my shopping codes from my scanner, and a nice cup of tea made by DH.

Honey bear, re bottles with lids on and still some liquid in them ... long distance lorry drivers find them useful ....

That thought has crossed my mind. There does seem to be an alarmingly high number of white wine / lager / 1uc0zade, but it's all of them - water bottles, cola bottles, you name it, they all have their lids screwed back on and they have very narrow tops! And beer cans. *wince* As I said, I wear leather gloves - wouldn't touch them otherwise!

The last of the jar of 2007 mincemeat was made into the final batch of mince pies tonight with a pack of shop-bought pastry. Yuk. Horrid thick stuff, felt nasty working with it and now feel much more confident about my food processor using-up-lodgers'-leftover flour, butter and 'I can tell it's not butter' pastry.

I can't join in the 2015 Declutter because at some point, surely, I must run out of stuff that needs to go with the amount that I've already shifted over the past year. Another box of gibble left the house for the local hospice shop today with eight things in it and I found something else straight afterwards.
    Better is good enough.

 Evening all, and welcome to all newbies and returning flyladies :j

Sorry to hear about your elbow, Natty.
    Glad Mischief is brighter.
Valli, we don't really hang around here all day, even if it sometimes looks as if all we've done is post!

Although I have achieved plenty today, and the house is still spick and span from yesterday's marathon, there's still lots to be done tomorrow:
    - wipe staircase handrails (we haven't got banisters)
    - money transfer
    - phone to change appointment, and if successful...
    - ...book for British Museum
    - SW
    - guarantee
    - 3 emails (I *must* do the complicated ones first)
    - 2 phonecalls
    - 2 letters
    - finish sail (started)
    - Gift Aid claim
    - photos
    - photocopies
    - website
    - display boards (started - need a photocopy)
    - PPT
    - hospital visiting
    - deliver CS bits to another friend
    - food shopping
    - passwords
    - renewal dates
    - update family tree from info in Christmas letters :)

Off to re-make our bed and fall into it. Goodnight everyone.
