Hi, I am here, just a bit disorganised today.
I think we may need a new alarm clock - the one we have is either broken, or Mr LW is sleeping through it. Trouble is, without my hearing aid, which I don't wear at night, I can't hear it. Does anyone know if it's possible to get one that switches on a light automatically, as well as making noise?:o
I can't in all conscience cross off any tasks today, but I have done a bunch of general tidying, washed some clothes (mine, for a change) and given Ronnie a really good brushing, ready for his return home tomorrow. Not sure what time he's going; he was due to be collected at 13:00, but the franchisee called me today to ask if we could make it an open-ended pick-up as he has BeeTee coming and doesn't know when they'll be done. I've said it's fine, I'm not going anywhere, so Ronnie can stay with me as long as is needed.
LW - I agree you and Mr LW seem an amazing team. As I walk the dog or visit the market I do sometimes see a lady in a scooter and occasionally wonder if it is you but of course am too polite to ask.FurryBeastOz wrote: »LW:wave: Glad to hear you have had furfriends. Who is next?
Welcome aboard, all new and returning Flyers.
Now, I must go and get on - it's veg stew for dins, and Mr LW will be disappointed if there's no dumplings with it.;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Evening ladies
Huge thank you to Dusty for last week and for Natty for starting this week.
Just in from work and supping a cuppa. DD has kindly walked doogie for me but I will still have to go out as I left my phone at home and DD had sent me a text telling me she needed essentials so I will have to go and get her some. DH has put up 2 hanging rails for me today so I now have 12' of hanging space to fill. I did thank him as this wasn't everyday stuff! He has also been working through the washing mountain that leftover from what I started yesterday. Plan is finish cuppa, get some tea which is just DH and myself so can be weekend leftovers, as DD has just fed herself and what DH described as 5000 mates before going to cadets, then I can start on with the list.
Still have to read through Fred as well so not ignoring you.Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -
Has anyone successfully frozen aubergines? I have just found 3 in the veg drawer which I was going to use for moussaka. I have more sympathy with single dwellers now who struggle not to waste food; I've just had to chuck a bag of very slimy carrots away. We normally hardly waste any food, but with OH on his no veg diet I'm still finding stuff I'd got in for Xmas.
Feeling sorry for myself today: can't string out Xmas decs any longer; wasting food; OH is now fairly convinced he's going to look for a new home for his horse. I think I need to get back to the gym with some motivating zumba music - heaven knows I'm getting the exercise with his horse and running around but I think I need to get my head bopping.
Sorry self pity is boring; yes I am thankful for many things. Just not this minute.
Anyway have addressed those cards and now ready to post so that's another thing off the list.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Narco have a big hug sweetie, you come across as a lovely person and life threw you and your DH a big curved ball. Forget the food, it was not intentinal. I'm sure you'll have less waste as you get used to Mr N's current diet. I'll message you later and set a date to get together x
Mrs MP glad your course was so useful!
Trip out resulted in:
3 sacks to scrap store with a large poly box
2 bags and golf clubs to the charity shop
2 pairs of shoes returned to JL
book returnered to library (5 new ones and 2 mags brought to browse)
Came home to find kitten has black fur in his mouth, wonder if he has been licking the big cat, hope so.
Welcome newbies, my memory is dreadful so post heaps so we get to know you.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

it was far more interesting than i gave it credit, and a great refresher, but you know the rules and regs in schools dusty, all we are allowed to do is use a wipe and a plaster if they arent allergic. because of the costs of training instead of all staff getting epi pen training we now only have 3 members who are offered it.
The resussi Annie is always good to remind yourself on and this guy was really enthusiastic for all schools to have their own heart start kit so gave a good talk about the different types and costs and was encouraging fund raising for those.
He mentioned that the heart foundation run a scheme called heart start which can go round youth clubs scouts groups schools etc with the resussi annies and teach youngsters how to do the correct resuscitation techniques.
kitchen is looking good, thanks for todays lists, just need to mop the floorSPC~12 ot 124

I only use the scooter round the estate where we live as a rule; if you see me in Central MK I'll be in the wheelchair, with Mr LW providing the motive power.:D For reference, I have waist-length dark red hair (currently with a silver badger-stripe) and I wear spectacles.:o
For the alarm clock, you need to look for a vibrating alarm clock. Incidentally also worth looking into smoke alarms for hearing impaired. Try Amazon, RNID, Action on Hearing Loss
If I see you up the centre I will make time to say hello

Honey bear, re bottles with lids on and still some liquid in them................going to be careful how I write this, but it seems long distance lorry drivers find them useful, especially if they have wide holes / necks on them, to err relieve themselves into while driving, and then it seems they chuck them out of the window of their vans / lorries........
Milton Keynes done, items required bought, plus some extra bits, found 8m of wrapping xmas paper @ 49p per role, so 3 bought, 30 cards @ 49p so they were also bought.

BEST FOR REALLY HEAVY SLEEPERS — AND OVERALL WINNER
Sonic Bomb alarm, £30.18, amazon.co.uk
WHAT YOU GET: A turbo-charged alarm clock that literally shakes you awake, as well as frightening the living daylights out of you with a noise that sounds like a lorry reversing. The alarm-clock part is shaped like a large mine and wouldn’t look out of place in a James Bond movie. There’s also a pad-shaped bed shaker attached to the clock, which you slip under your pillow or mattress. When the extra-loud alarm goes off, lights flash and the bed shakes — even the deepest sleeper would wake.

The alarm clock is usually set to come onto the radio, (Classic fm - Mr LW's choice) and that's where the problem lies; some presenter mithering on about rubbish isn't going to wake me up!:D
I hadn't thought of RNID, and tbh, not heard of Action on Hearing Loss before, so I'll take a look when I get chance.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
dustykitten froddington Thank you so much for the good wishes.
I slept badly, worried about sleeping though the alarm! Arrived on time, and no-one in SLT around to do the formal back to work. I spent some time chatting with my lovely Head of Dept, and we sorted out the hours and roughly what I shall do over the next four to six weeks. Also had lovely chat with the lady who does the cover, who was really supportive, so am feeling much calmer now.
:hello: and welcome to all the newbies, returners and delurkers! Try to do at least one section of the list and maybe add a declutter; don't play catch up as it will all come round again. If things are desperate, aim for a gradual improvement each week.
Kitchen Done! Very happy I managed to get this done this afternoon, as I was feeling quite tired. It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0
