Problem with Ebay sale - buyer broke 2 items!

            Sorry Soolin - not used this forum before.
 Actually and rather annoyingly I went to reply to the buyer just now and by mistake accepted a returns - it simply says 'We've asked the buyer to post the item back by 02 Feb' - I thought I would need to provide a returns label or ask Ebay to provide one?0

 Strangely I have got a defect for it - return request was because: It's defective or doesn't work
 can't see it on the Global Seller Report, in fact this does not match my dashboard at all, maybe the report has not caught up with my dashboard?0

 You will get a defect for a return which is opened as 'defective or doesn't work'.
 From 1-20th of each month the dashboard is not as uptodate as the 'trending data' which is the link just above that. That is the most uptodate.
 On 20th, the dashboard updates. From 21st to the end of the month the dashboard is uptodate (or as uptodate as is possible).
 The GSR is updated on a Wednesday. But occasionally a defect will go on before that but show on the Wednesday, i.e. where you can actually see which item it is attributed to.
 Going back to your return. If you are in Managed Returns, the buyer will be given a label and it will be charged to your account when it is scanned by Royal Mail or Collect Plus.
 If you are in the flow and have put the dimensions and weight in the listing, the label will be as above. But if you haven't put the dimensions in, Ebay may guess this and issue a label or they may ask you to provide the label.
 The 'flow' should show something like:
 Next steps
 1. Contact the buyer and provide a return postage label.
 2. Wait to get the item back before you refund the buyer.

            If you aren't in MR (I didn't know you could opt out unless it was an opt in originally rather than being forced?) then you must be in the 'flow'.

 No details on the listing about dimension or weight.
 I vaguely remember opting in to MR when it was first brought out.

 Then ebay reserve the right to 'calculate' the returns postage. If they aren't asking you to supply one, they will supply a label and bill you via your invoice. So watch out for the charge. You should get billed at the end of the month during which the item was actually posted (not the returns date itself). So if they don't return it until 30th of this month you should have missed the invoice cut off until February's invoice.
 Once it is back, although you have no option on the case other than to refund, if there is an issue, ring CS before you refund. They will tell you to refund and appeal.0

 I see. I don't think I would ever have won this one so perhaps it's just as well I pressed return item. Need to move on!
 If I add £1 to the next 30 or so headphones I sell I will cover the loss on this sale!0

 In post 42 buyer has accepted a return without being charged for postage- i have reported on another thread that this happened to me as well and I have not been charged nor have I so far got any defect.
 My buyer simply changed her mind and requested a return, it came through as a return request but ebay added that buyer had informed them that there was something wrong with the item. I was given various return options including one that said buyer returns at her own cost- and I ticked that and ebay confirmed that buyer will be given my address for return.
