Vodafone UK - Porting nightmare - unable receive calls for over a month

  • My husband is having the same problem, in fact he is having this problem for the second time since taking on the vodafone contract. We are 14 months into a 24 month contract.

1st time was when the number was ported in: no one able to phone in but outgoing calls ok. After weeks of phone calls to Vodafone it was finally sorted. That was March last year.

Then 2 weeks ago it happened again!! No incoming calls, outgoing calls working fine. On contacting Vodafone and being told it would be fixed within 24 hours everyday for a week they then decided to switch off the sim and restart it, they switched off the number and haven't actually managed to reset it. now no outgoing calls either.

We have had the situation 'upgraded to urgent' had at least 5 people 'take it on personally' and promise to get it fixed and yesterday they have put a 'red flag' on it which seems very special indeed!

My husband uses this number for his business so its not just an annoyance it is costing us money every single day! He is self employed and we have 3 very young children to support. It is getting very stressful and I don't want to hear that it will be fixed in 24 hours again!!!
I regret the day I ever encouraged him to join Vodafone!

Is there another number I can phone for technical support rather than getting through to the 191 team?

    Hi Vodafone team,

The link provided in post #31 just goes to a blank page. I took out a vodafone sim only business plan earlier this month. I came over from the 3 network and provided my PAC code to Vodafone. I was advised that my port was due to be completed on the 20th May. I have rang customer services a number of times and I have also spoke to the port forwarding team. Since putting my Vodafone sim card in the phone on the 19th of May I have been able to make calls and browse the internet without issue. My number was showing up as a temporary number when I made an outbound call to my partner on the 19th, however when my partner tried to call me back she advised that the the line was quiet and the call did not connect. I emailed a representative I have been dealing with who advised me to contact the porting team directly as they should be able to manually push the missing porting files through.

I followed the advice and rang the porting team directly who advised me to wait until 8pm yesterday evening and that they could not manually push the files through. Yesterday evening, the number that I wanted to port over was showing up on my partner's phone when I rang her, however she could still not call me back.

When she tried to call me this morning she got the message "The number you have called has not been recognised, please check the number and try again" or something similar. I can still make outbound calls and browse the internet however. I have again called customer services this morning only to be told to wait another 24 hours. Based on the above experiences and posts on other forums, I do not hold much hope for any resolution on this issue this weekend. I am self employed and not being able to receive calls for such an extended period of time is not good enough really. I find it absolutely baffling that a mobile company cannot get the basics right.

Please advise how I can escalate this issue as the form provided does not load.

    Many thanks in advance.

    It doesn't
  • It does for me on a mobile device and my laptop.

Anyway I have deciphered the Vodafone url from the link and can see the Vodafone contact page now.

    Cheers.
  • The reference number that came through in the auto reply email is :- #11376173

    Many thanks

  • For reference, this issue is now sorted. I first noticed that I started receiving calls and text messages yesterday afternoon.

If you check the official Vodafone complaint thread however, you will see that I am not the only person having issues with the Vodafone 'contact us' link provided. It looks like some devices and or browsers cannot handle the redirect URL.

I manually extracted the Vodafone part of the URL from the long MSE URL to get this to work.

    Cheers

  • Use this URL to get to the contact form :-
    ww3.vodafone co.uk/contact-form

    Change the 3 to a w.

Can only add to the sense of disillusionment with Vodaphone, possibly the worst company I've ever dealt with. I must have phoned them 10 times each and every time having to repeat the problem as they don't seem to keep records. The worst part is the people working there have no shame, promise they will call back and never do. Ross in the Scotland office the latest of 5 people to do this to me. My number is 'stuck' porting across since 5 April, I've written to them and nothing back.
