Ok I'm a bit late to the party but better late than never right?
This year I would like to:
a) get a new job. Really essential this one!
b) maintain the weight loss from last year. Another few lbs off would be great, but I'd happy with staying at this new lower level
c) look into taking a flute exam. If I decide exams aren't the way to go, continue enjoying the lessons
d) enjoy spending time with my family. I do this anyway but it's so easy to take it for granted. Having lost someone already this year am determined to make the most of this time.
Could think of lots more about crafts/hobbies etc. but reckon that will do for now!0 -
I'm in!
1) Buy my own home. I've been saving a couple of years now since I had to sell my last one after my divorce so hopefully this is the year.
2) Keep a continuous and progressive weights/exercise program. I managed it well last year but it was very intermittent.
3) Read more. I only started reading books about 18 months ago and really get into when I am away and traveling but when I get home I seem to put it down until the next trip.
4) Travel to more new places. Really got the travel bug these last couple of years and hope to continue it this year.
5) Be happy :beer:0 -

This year I would like to:
a) get a new job. Really essential this one! Done!
b) maintain the weight loss from last year. Another few lbs off would be great, but I'd happy with staying at this new lower level Massive fail! All of last year's loss has come back. Oh well, that's next year's plan sorted.
c) look into taking a flute exam. If I decide exams aren't the way to go, continue enjoying the lessons Really enjoying the lessons still, and will be entering for the next set of exams in 2016.
d) enjoy spending time with my family. I do this anyway but it's so easy to take it for granted. Having lost someone already this year am determined to make the most of this time. Success, had a great year with my family and looking forward to Christmas together.
Could think of lots more about crafts/hobbies etc. but reckon that will do for now!
This has cheered me up, thanks! Have had a rubbish week so it's nice to have a bit of perspective and see that the year overall has gone ok.0 -

- lose weight (my target is 3 stone this year) and drop 2 dress sizes. Lost 1.5 stones and dropped a dress size
- become more active, I intend to walk a lot more. Did really well until winter came
- use a spending diary, I want to reduce my monthly grocery spend lasted 3 months!
- no takeaways, they're always a disappointment and never as tasty as I thought they'd be not had many but whenever I did they were a disappointment!
- stop stressing about the small things and worrying about things I know I shouldn't worry about so much, but do! still a worrier
I'll be carrying these over into 2016!0 -

1. Lose at least half a stone
2. Try to start enjoying my job
3. Meet more people and be more sociable
4. Buy a house
5. Read a book a week
1. I didn't just meet my goal, I smashed it...11 pounds and a muffin top lost so far
2. Still working on that one!
3. I'm feeling a bit more confident than I was at the start of the year but haven't really been anymore social, that's one I need to carry over in to 2016
4. Did it! In it right now!
5. Lasted for a couple of months and then fizzled out.0 -
fairy_lights wrote: »I already did my list on the previous page but I've thought of a few more things to add:
-Learn to drive
-Get up earlier on work days so I'm not always running late
-Exercise at least four mornings a week
-Get a new tattoo
And my final one, try to do something kind for someone else every day.
1. Nope. Still no closer to driving
2. Have been on time for work every day for three months now, which pleases my boss greatly!
3. I've been going for a run most mornings and hitting my 10,000 steps everyday
4. No tattoo...yet.
And kind things for other people...I had noble intentions but didn't quite see it through, though I have been donating to the food bank regularly.0 -

I would like to:
* Continue to lose weight, I lost 27lbs from Aug to Dec last year. I would like to lose 29lbs by July this year, making a 4stone loss in 12months. But that all depends on the next one... This did not happen.
* Me and OH have decided to try for a baby, not actively trying yet, but not preventing from now on. Sadly I had a miscarriage in May at 4.5wks, and dealt with this by overeating so hence not meeting the above. However *whispers* I am currently 8.5wks pregnant
, hoping this one sticks! Keeping it quiet, especially over Xmas season is hard.
* Find a way to get a better work life balance. I started a new job following redundancy last year, whilst I like the job it involves 11.5hr days, 1.5hrs of that is commuting. Not sure whether I want to change jobs again (especially due to the above!) or just try to make the most of it. Partially achieved. Work has been hell at times due to the environment (a prison) and my two bosses being sacked for having an affair/not turning up to work/not doing their jobs properly. But it's on the up now in work, and I feel much more at home there. And due to the above reason I am on admin duties now so my life is a whole lot easier! Commute is down to 1 hour and no car sharing either.
* Move house to our first proper home together. This will help with the commute issue as will move slightly closer to work, cutting half hour off my commute time. Also will give us more space. Our new home is wonderful, moved here in Feb and we all love the house. Moved from a 2 bed to a 4bed so have tonnes of space. Both OH's kids have their own room. And we now have another cat too!
* Save enough money to cover any potential maternity leave. Getting there!
* Have a holiday somewhere sunny!! Done. Went to Menorca all inclusive in June, and loved every second of it.
Just one hope for 2016 and that is to have a happy, healthy baby x* Rainbow baby boy born 9th August 2016 *

Brilliant! Thanks for starting a new thread!
1) lose at least 2 stone (12.5st at the mo) only lost about 5lb and that was through stress
2) save at least £4,000 ive managed to save 2k, then had an emergency and spent it. I have since saved another 1.3k. So I'm not too unhappy about that.
3) build my business and triple my income (i get a miserly amount from my business at the moment).i have probably managed to double my income compared to this time last year, but still want to achieve more.
4) declutter the house its been very hit and miss to be honest. Next year I'm hopeful I can get it sorted
5) exercise morepass-full of good intentions...
6)DIY on the house -at least 3 roomsmanaged a couple of rooms
7) actually go on a proper holiday!never happened. Never had a holiday this year. Booked one, but had to cancel at last minute
I think that's enough to be going on with.
Ok so I'm back. It's been a very difficult year. Totally beyond our control.
Hoping to get back in the game next year. It can't go any worse than this...hopefully.
Didn't achieve half as much as I wanted to.GE 36 *MFD may 2043

- To complete the London to Brighton Challenge
- To help me do this I want to lose 2.5 stone by May and and another 2.5 stone by December
- Want to finally be happy in work
- Want to pay off my two overdrafts (so about £1K)
Well I completed the challenge, all 62 miles or 100km, in 29hrs ....cost me a toe nail but I couldn't get the grin off my face for weeks.
Didn't lose the weight though ....will have to revisit this again in 2016!
Still not truely happy in work .... It's a lot better so I guess that's a work in progress!
Paid off the two overdrafts thanks to the various 1 debt v 100 day challenges.0
