  • I have been working today,so no decluttering, but I have tomorrow off,and not sure how to use the time for the best.

-I could continue in the third bedroom, which will hopefully be painted this weekend. That would be a matter of sorting out a very large bookshelf of kid's books, and continue to sift through bits and bobs lying around.
-Or I could sit and sort through paperwork for the day.It wouldn't make the house look much better (with three bedrooms in chaos, there are bigger messes :D),but it would be a change of scenery for me.
-I could take a drive to deliver stuff to charity shop
-I could teach myself to upload photos, and start listing a few things to sell

  • Have done a little more tonight but my bedroom cupboards will have to be finished another time. Gone off on a tangent and tidied out my make up bags.

    So have binned -

    4 glittery liquid eyeliners
    1 old face powder
    2 empty foundations
    Several ancient eyeliners
    Various ancient sample face creams
1 bb cream ( never liked it so don't know why I kept it)
    Under eye cream (old)
Old fashion watch I stopped wearing years ago
    Several yucky old hair bobbles
    Toothbrush
    Several disposable razors

    Bathroom bins also emptied.

Not had time for much decluttering here today, but even 1 item a day is progress. And I've achieved more than that today :T

So some OOD body lotion binned
4 bottles of half opened sauces / condiments OOD - contents binned, glass wear recycled.
A glass bottle without a top which I've been keeping for years - just in case - has finally made it to the recycling bin :T

I'd loved to say with all this decluttering that the house is looking tidier. Sadly that's not yet the case. Maybe, hopefully, when I've done the next 100 or 200.....

115K, I think the cats and dogs are conspiring :D The cats knock stuff off the desk to distract the dogs so they can go and have an undisturbed slumber on the bed/freshly ironed pile of clothing/plant pot.

:p They must be in cahoots.:D

Not been on for a few days but have been busy.
Our bedroom is all done at last and the chest on the landing has been emptied and sorted out. The next room I think is going to be the bathroom although it isn't too bad but am rather busy all this week so it should fit in nicely.
    So items out are -
    236 - Jigsaw - cs
    237 - English, Irish and Welsh flags - c/s
    238 - Brass plaque - c/s
239 - Pack of rubber bands that have gone brittle - bin
240 - 1 rug making kit that daughter started years ago - daughter
    241 - 1 burst small ball - bin
    242 - Butterfly brooch - c/s
243 - Various bits of tat - bin
    244 - Paper work - burnt
    245 - Book - given to friend
    246 - Soft toy - bin

Just wondering if anyone had missed anything they have gotten rid of yet? - we haven't which I am surprised about.

a bit of a gardening theme going on, I think!
  • Interesting one, Billie-jo. I've been keeping a list of my decluttering to see how far I've come. When I look back at the list I struggle to remember what some items are!
I am sort of missing the shoes that I threw away at the weekend, because they were so pretty (can be rare thing when you have size 9 feet!). However I am wearing my replacement shoes which are lovely and rather sophisticated so it's not all bad :)
