    Hiya everyone

Not totalled up yet today but had a find :j

I have a drawer in the cupboard in the sitting room which really needed sorting, I have been putting it off, and today I decided to tackle it.

I used to buy my tobacco in bulk abroad (much cheaper) and keep the current box in this drawer, amongst lots of other things, and then 'pay' myself into the box every time I started a new packet. When I stopped smoking there was one packet left in the box together with some papers and spare lighters and I just left it there. Imagine my surprise when I lifted it today and it felt heavy, with something sliding about in it. So when I looked I found ......... £96.24

    At work - back laters

Well,I never actually got rid of much stuff today,-not what I would consider real decluttering, but the place does look a bit tidier.Sort of.A bit.Kinda..

My aim for the day was to make some floor space in the front room, where OH and I are now sleeping on a mattress on the floor. In our very average-sized front room, there is only just enough room for the mattress, due to the room also containing a 7-seater sofa, boxes of belongings from our bedroom before it became DD's room, and Christmas presents :eek:.My aim was to be able to stand the mattress each morning,so we can use the front room.It will be a faff re-setting it up/making it again at night, but it's got to be better than having it stepped over/sat on/lay in all day by anyone who wants to watch tv.

Our dining room has,for years, been a dumping ground for OH and his clap-trap.The dining-room has table and 6 chairs,(which is used every day),his computer table and chair,a couple of large cupboards of his junk, and more piles and piles and piles and piles....... of OH's junk-it is an overflow from the garage, which he has also filled to the gunnels over the last 14 years .

Well, today I tidied up a couple of "towers" of his tat.Cripes, the tat I found:
papers, old receipts, hundreds of DVD's,random impulse buys from B+M/Pound shops/LIDL,a pair of garden shears  (neither of us are gardeners),bags and tins of coins(ok,maybe it wasn't all tat.BUT MOST OF IT WAS!! :D),hundreds of Warhammer figures and the like, paints, old birthday cards, cables and cords, random books...............

Now that 12yo DD has her own room,I moved her sewing machine and couple of boxes of stash to it.This emptied a corner of the dining room for me to move boxes from the front room.Made a neat tower (but a tower none-the-less :o) of my stuff.I re-arranged a few bits in the front room, then had room to unmake the mattress, fold sheets and duvet, and stand mattress on its side against the wall-well,as close to a wall as I could get with so many boxes in the way, oops.

Also before collecting kids from school,I stacked dishwasher and cleared the kitchen a bit,and put on a load of washing (still sitting in the machine!).

    It never stops,does it?

    ETA:I did declutter:
472:huge (charity) bag of "make and do" stuff to the school:yoghurt pots, bits of plastc, cardboard tubes, etc

Casati - does that mean you sell your magazines on eB@y? What the take up like? I have 12 gardening magazines and lots of card making magazines that I was just going to recycle, but if there's another option.....

Cupcake queen - well done on all your sales.

    :j:j:j that's beats the £5 I found :)

I've spent today tiding up the bookcase that I decluttered last week. The books are now all arranged in size order and look great :). Its soooo satisfying having an area of the room which looks finished :T

A lot of rehoming things today. Or at least moving things to another room to sort out later. In addition to that

    A teddy bear - CS
    2 x books CS
    Magazine RC
5 bottles of empty or no longer used essential oils - contents put in the bin, glass recycled.

(The rest of my essential oils have organised to make them easier to find and use)

Is it bad that I have spent the last hour sorting socks, and have just matched up 54 pairs?

For years I have had a huge bag of odd socks ,ever hopeful that they will be paired up with their mate.Every now and again I have a sort through, socks suddenly appear to be re-united with said mate.

I think it is about time I ask the school if it wants them for sock puppets, etc. Some of the odd socks were last worn about 10years ago icon_eek.gif.I am not joking-I still have odd Bob The Builder socks that my only son last wore when he was about 3.He was 11 in September :rotfl::rotfl:
