278 bottle of body lotion used up & recycled

Knowing they were going to good use made it SO much easier to sort those drawers out.

Ha ha - new to this thread and reading through backwards, started to read your post and thought you had got rid of 278 bottles of body lotion :)

    Hi All

    Yesterday was a great day!

The charity shop finally came to collect the furniture-4 boxes and 3 bags of clothes!Such a relief to get rid of them. We still have a ways to go to be completely decluttered but we are starting to see open spaces!

Everyone keep up the great work.We are all making great progress:j
    NOT BUYING IT 2018!

Consumerism is.....buying things you don't need with money you don't have to impress people you don't know and probably wouldn't like even if you did know them.

I'm still plugging away doing little bits here and there. DS(6) just had his birthday this week and had a party so we have lots of little presents to unpack and find homes for!

But I'm making sure I get rid of something every day.

I have not done any regular decluttering these last two days.

What I have done is type up some notes, poems and other writings onto my laptop. I've been able to get rid of the original pieces of paper which I shredded.

I still have some holiday notes to write up - I usually keep a journal but I have lots of notes on bits of paper.

When that is finished I am going to sort out my word documents and instead of having to go through lots of items to find what I want, (and usually I find duplicates where I have amended them) I'm going to treat them like books and give them a contents page. I think it will work and hopefully it will save me time in the future.

I must remember to back them up soon as well.

Good and Bad news on de cluttering this week. Both DD have sorted out their rooms and bagged up all the stuff they don't want. Which is really good news!! Bad news is they just put everything into bags and I now have to sort it out for rubbish, charity shop and selling. Also they are both very ruthless and some things can be reused and some I think they will regret. I I am going through everything and making them a memory box each.
The memory boxes also mean I can de cluttered a lot of the 'memories' I keep and put a few each on their boxes and when they leave home they can take their boxes with them!!
Keep up the good work everyone - this WILL be the year we live in clutter free homes.

More decluttering today. Setting my goal as 1 item a day really helped today. I knew I wouldn't have the time to do a major declutter, but I could throw away 1 item. In the end I managed to relieve the house of 3 items - which I consider a success :D
