Another bag of xmas decs ready to go to the charity shop.

Thinking about getting rid of the lot. As Xmas has not been good the last few years and not put any decs up.

So seems a waste of time to keep them. But you never know things might be better by the end of the year who knows LOL!!!

    On wards and upwards!!!!!

    Yours

    Calley

A double bed and mattress has gone to my son.
i got husband and son to bring some boxes down from the attic.

I have a huge box of photos and have looked through some of them, to be honest most of them are pretty carp so i will declutter them over the next few days and it will hopefully save our sons hours of work when husband and i are no longer here.

The amount of photos of buildings and landscapes as well as poorly focused and double photos is awful. i have been asking why did we take and pay to have developed all this rubbish.

keep up the great work everyone

    regards
    :j

Does anyone know how I contact Alexio's toy Hospital to donate to them?
Alexio's is just for Bears and you will find their page on F*cebook.

Other 'hospitals' exist for other toys and if you 'Google' - toy and bear hospitals you will see quite a listing with their relevant details and whereabouts. HTH

I was out lunching and shopping today so having a day off the declutter

Hope you all having a great weekend

35 - Four cardboard boxes given away to be used as packaging
36 - Carrier bag of paperwork with address/account details etc to parent's house to go on their fire
37 - Small window squeegee to parents

There is another pile of cardboard and charity items to leave the house this week (not counting until gone.) Have been struggling with getting rid of more books, but have decided on a few that can go. Also found out all cookery books and will go through them, any that don't have any recipes that I like can also go to the charity shop.

Items in this week are a scoop (for dog food), two cushions and a small display cabinet from Freecycle.

    more wardrobe action:

    29. bin bag for cs with outdoor clothes - walking trousers, fleeces, a couple of vest tops
    30. big bag for rags - dressing gown, most of my knickers, pyjamas and some old gym wear
not to be counted until it leaves..... nursing bras - some better than others - have put with the other maternity wear to ponder its future - might see if women's aid might be able to put it to use?

I have the Konmarie book on my Kindle to read but some aspects of it I don't agree with (not bulk buying if things are on a big discount etc) so I'm just going to take the bits of it I want to like only keeping stuff I really like instead of stuff that I may use again. I've got some stuff upstairs I haven't worn since I had my second child 8 years ago!!

I agree with you Mumof2, trying to follow something slavishly only leads to frustration and chucking in the towel. My thoughts are that the true art is to declutter your mind and only have what is dear and right for you.

So if you bulk buy, you need a clear and well defined storage area where you can see what you have so you don’t over-buy. That to me is no different from folding all your knickers and lining them up in a draw. I’m sure she wouldn’t insist that you only have one pair  and wash them out overnight, so why should you only have one egg in the cupboard and rush out to buy the exact number for every meal you cook?

Found this food for thought on the beeb.

    It does make the point that we should be selective;

I do wonder that if we all embrace the minimalistic world that we are often shown on TV, what will be left for our memories and for our children and future generations that will actually show us and what we as individuals liked. The cynic in me then kicks in and wonders if minimalism is sponsored by big business – once they have got us to throw everything out then they can persuade us to buy it all again and make big bucks for them:rotfl:

    Happy Sunday everyone.
