2015 - No Clutter To Be Seen

Afternoon all.
Had a very productive four days off. Sorted out and binned about half my old greetings cards, some going back to the early nineties! I think the ones I chose to keep will have to be revisited to see if I can weed out some more.
Took old letters out of their envelopes and filed them in a lever arch file
Recycled about 9 Sunday Mirror Notebook magazines.
Emptied and re-packed clothes in underbed draw
Filled another CS bag with clothes as a result of above.
Tipped a bottle of red wine and a litre bottle of Nandos sauce down the sink as would not be using them any time soon and was fed up of the space they were taking up.
Rum cake and chia and coconut muffins to work.
I have put all my minis and samples into an apple shaped tin which held body shop glazed apple toiletries as opposed to them being on a high unreachable shelf and my intention is to use what I can daily or weekly.
Also managed to decultter a fair few items out of my sky box0 -
54. I cleaned my kettle and my bathroom with half of the end of a bottle of white vinegar.
55. I'm using up odds and ends of all the vegetables to make homemade soup.
56. Recycling out, I put a cardboard box in the wardrobe for my cats to sit in but they seem to be ignoring it.HOUSE MOVE FUND £16,000/ £19,000
DECLUTTERING 2015 439 ITEMS

Hi all, please may i join in?
I am a mum to 3 little ones, the eldest is 6 next month. We have a dopey dog & a hard working husband/father. But we have so much stuff in our average 3 bed semi and i think it would be much easier to clean & keep tidy if we had less stuff!
Im currently trying to sell anything decent i get rid of, so far ive earned £19 this year and after a while i will take things to the charity shops.
Im aiming to have sorted the entire house by the end of the year, seems a long way a way but the 3 kids make it such hard work and ive got a business too, i work from home making sewn gifts, the front room is full of fabric etc!
Anyway, i hope i am welcome

Afternoon everyone - recycling and charity shops must be heaving with the amount that we are shifting!
43. Bag of Brownie and Rainbow stuff sorted - notebook to daughter (her notes for meetings, she is assistant Guider), some papers in a pile waiting to be filed, others recycled. Stash of pens put into stationery drawer in hall. Teddy bear hospital details put to one side for another Guider (but now I can't find where I put it!)
44. three carrier bags from the car sorted. Several items in bin, cans and bottles in recycling, books and pens away, deicer and scrapers by front door
45. large bag of miscellaneous items - paper into recycling, rubbish in bin, a few Christmas items into the bag for the loft, and a new gift (for next year) on the stairs waiting to be taken up.
46. three shelves cleared and cleaned. Two books to daughter, papers in Brownie/Rainbow pile waiting to be filed, game into Brownies box, kids' books onto correct shelves, cardboard boxes emptied and recycled, old model of a watermill into bin.
47. large bag - three DVDs into drawer unit, two small sewing kits into sewing bag, highlighters into stationery drawer, book onto shelf, various items into charity bag (kid's rucksack, toy pig, Maccies toy, ball of wool, and others).
48. box emptied - two Tshirts for washing, toiletry bag and tin of deodorant into bathroom, papers into recycling
49. two carrier bags of rubbish into the bon (just from clearing this morning)
50. two cereal boxes of folded cardboard into recycling (again, just from this morning)
51. very full carrier bag of papers into recycling (this morning's haul)
I'm also keeping up with everyday housework, have done a bit of food shopping, rang the smoke alarm maker (because my alarms, still in guarantee, have failed - they're sending out replacements), put out the kitchen rubbish (and told my son off for not doing it - it's his job), and taken said son to school.
I've got an hour before my other son gets home (school bus, SEN transport), so I need to make his tea. It's Rainbows and Brownies tonight, so I need to organise my bag. I'll drop older son at my mum's, then go to pick my younger son up from school (he's got extra science today as he was absent last week). From there, drop him off at his friend's, possibly picking friend up on the way and taking both to cinema. Then straight to Rainbows. Later, younger son will be dropped off at Brownies by friend's dad, and after Brownies I will take him to his voluntary work before I pick older son up from my mum's. So a busy evening!
I've got an hour, so I'm hoping to clear the stairs completely. I also have a small unit that I would like to clear the top. If I get a chance, I'll report back later.
Happy decluttering everyone!0 -
Afternoon everyone. Haven't been on here in ages but we're still plodding along with the de-cluttering
Kids rooms are done. All nice and tidy and a bit of bribery happening to keep it that way. They will get an extra £2 a week pocket money (bringing it to £5) if they tidy their rooms on a Wednesday and Saturday. It's working so far, and to my surprise they are putting it in their money boxes lol. I think they've not put one week's worth in, and that was for a magazine each and a book, so I can't complain
All toys and clothes that were decluttered from their rooms were donated to Charity shops and schools. Son announced that his old Moshi Monsters wanted to go to the Breakfast club as the younger kids like playing with them. So off they went. Daughter took some old toys into her classroom and her teacher was delighted. I then called into the playgroup in her school and asked if they would like any of the toys and they said yes pleaseSo up they went. :T
Asked the teacher I work with if the school wanted any books for their classrooms/library and she willingly came down to my house and took them for me, she asked if she could have some for her children and I said work away. :rotfl:
I had some old school uniforms/track bottoms/socks, tights and pants that was too small for them too, so they were washed (underwear washed twice) and donated to the relative schools and playgroup. I know they are always welcome too from working in a classroom myself, and having to buy pants, school skirts, socks, tights etc out of my own money and they never get returned:mad: SO have saved them some money in the process:T
Outside of the kids rooms we have done well.
We got one of those donation stickers through the door last week and they were looking everything so I gave them everything:rotfl:
To them- 3 boxes of old books from under the attic.
- Various Christmas items ranging from Christmas cards that have been left over to boxes that won't be used.2x Christmas card over the door holders.
- More books from around the house.
- Gifts give to me by kids in work at Christmas that won't be used and I couldn't re-gift.
- And a load of other stuff.
I could see them having a nosey in the bags as they were putting them in the van:rotfl: I couldn't care less if they took some for themselves or were put in the bin before getting to the CS. As long as it was away from my house I don't care:o
I'm currently on crutches ATM, kids have been shipped to the local after schools club in the youth club and neighbour is looking after the 2 LO's for a while.SO I think I'll go upstairs to my own room and see what else needs to go out. Throw them down the stairs and move them about with the crutches lol.Pay all debt off by Christmas 2025 £815.45/£3,000£1 a day challenge 2025 - £180/£730 Declutter a bag a week in 2025 11/52Lose 25lb - 10/25lbs Read 1 book per week - 5/52Pay off credit card debt 18%/100%0 -
