I have to bag up the junk that the council are collecting this week. I left it all out the front and some things have been taken by the men who go around looking for things they can sell on. Very helpful and if they can use it why not. It will only be a couple of bags of broken stuff that I doubt anyone would use.

    53. The end of a bottle of facial oil used up today as I bought a new bottle. I think I will try and clean the decanter bottle it comes in so I can put the new oil in there with some essential oils.

I will have to look how to clean a bottle as I wasn't sure if you just need to use hot soapy water or if you have to sterilise it. http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/708988 It looks like you can use hot water and vinegar.

Just a little update, been otherwise occupied this weekend..

    212 & 213 two ebay parcels posted
    214 old hairclips - bin
215 ye olde nail varnish - bin (not just gluggy but weirdly gritty and grainy)
    216 sheets of stickers binned
    217. One of my Rob Brandt crinkled cups. Chipped. Upset about that one. In fact, to be honest, double extra super upset, because I wasn't the one who chipped it.

Few more bits into rag bags / craft box for school / library book bag but won't be counting those until they've left the house...

I've been busy but I'm feeling a bit lke I've failed so far this weekend, trying hard not to lose momentum.

  • Finally made it to the charity shop and tip with a bunch of bags that have been hanging round far too long :o

    Charity shop
    48. Cook book
    49. Desk date book (calendar with 'thought for the day' that is yearless so can be reused)
50-51. 2 small decorative blue glass bowls
    52-55. 4 glasses
    56. Phone holder
    57. Cream metal pail
58-59. Two packets of decorative paper rose petals

    77-80. 4 scarves
81-83. 3 small blue plastic storage bins
    84. Small red plant pot
    85. Blue vest top

    and to the recycling centre:
    85. Old wooden shelving unit (beyond redemption) plus other random scraps of wood
    86. Mobile broadband dongle
    87. Broken freeview box (but I forgot to take the remote)
    88. Bag of metal scraps - a broken grater, the leer arch mechanism from a folder, underwiring from a damaged bra
    89. Bag of rags
    90. Pair of shoes that are beyond repair
    91. Bag of assorted oddments that wouldn't fit down rubbish hatch in flat

I am changing and getting more of an eye for clutter! Have cleared out my dressing table drawers so can now put things away instead of strewn across the surface. Things are starting to look better and it is only January :D Hope all is going well for everyone still.

ETA Shocked and sorry to read about your car Saver-upper. Thank goodness no one was hurt.

not posted all week but have managed to take some small old notebooks and post it notes to work as I can never find a bit of paper for notes when at my desk!!
Have had to stop our bedroom as Hubby has decided to decorate the kitchen and taken all the cupboard doors off. So far today :
3 bags of recycling and 3 black sacks !! Can't believe how out of date some things were. Trouble with cluttered cupboards mean I open them to cook something and the chaos makes me close the cupboard and order take a way!!
Not any more - cupboards that have been done are all organised !!
Have told the family if they don't know where something goes to ask!!

Thanks to all the posters for the continued inspiration.
