  • I'd really like to declutter our two bedroom apartment!

I decluttered my make up and nail polish today. I got rid of...

    48 polishes to give away
5 thrown away because they were gloopy
    4 lipglosses
    5 lipsticks
    2 lip liners
    5 eyeshadows
    1 blusher
    2 highlighters
    4 eyeliners
    1 mascara
    1 primer
    1 foundation
    1 primer

Feels good passing some of this on and getting rid of some of the junk!

    Excellent point whiteguineapig,

i have some tins and stuff that can go to foodbank.

my friend recently had to use our local one and i discovered that they appreciate toileteries, sanitary products, loo rolls and cleaning supplies.

    keep going everyone

This weekends efforts from me have been

    - t-shirt to charity bag
    - pair boots to bin after I realised they had a hole in when it was raining
    - carrier bag full of papers taken to be shredded
    - empty shower gel bottle used up and recycled
    - two ebay parcels packaged up ready to leave the house tomorrow

My new motto is never go up or down the stairs empty handed. I read this on the OS forum earlier today and it's really helping me to think what I can bring down to throw out, or take up to put away etc.
  • 103. Box of Heston's mince pies, DH and I don't like them and they expire next week so they have been binned.

I have listed some items on ebay and one has sold from last week so more to come!

  • Sounds like some of you have had really productive weekends decluttering wise. This one has been a busy one for us so not much time to make big progress. However I have managed to do the following:-

    3. Bag full of plastic carrier bags sorted ready to put in my recycling bin.
    GC: Feb (16th Jan - 15th Feb) £46.25 / £50 :)
    Mar (16th Feb - 15th Mar) £61.96 / £70

As suspected, now we are all back at work and school, decluttering has slowed down. However I am very conscious of not bringing anything unnecessary into the house so as not to add more! We did finally get rid of a fish tank via eBay, also three more parcels to post tomorrow. Had a massive clear up of DS2's bedroom on Saturday which restored it to normal. Can now try to sort out what's what now it is not just spread all over the floor! Need to wheedle out the outgrown toys/books/clothes. Recycling bin going tomorrow, thank goodness, it is rammed full. Oh, I did manage to tackle some paperwork in the week so a load went into recycling or the 'to burn' box. Will continue with all this in the week to come.

Pair of tights in the bin - put my toe through them when I was getting dressed! Won't be replaced as I have plenty more.
A scarf and pair of gloves given to me at Christmas in the cs bag because they're just not 'me'.
3 old toothbrushes - have one in the kitchen and the bathroom so I don't know why I was keeping them!
Had a look in the photograph drawer under my bed, closed it quickly as it's crammed, but not before I'd thrown out at least 2 dozen old photo's of scenery. I plan to keep mainly photo's of people in future.
A few little odds and ends which I've cleared from the box by my chair, pens, a nail varnish and a pair of tweezers which don't tweeze any more.
