I've been missing in action as we've had some work done in the house - radiators replaced and the hall/stairs/landing painted. As a result DH and I have moved some furniture around in the sitting room and looked hard at the way we use the room.
Unfortunately, it means that two side tables will be delivered on Fridaybut I have 'found' new pictures for the landings, a lamp and paint for the hall mirror frames from what was already in the house.
Need to make a decision about which of the small tables we were using to get rid of .....
Out:
- old radiator (passing scrap man)
- picture to CS box
- 2 toiletry u/u
- biscuit tin given away
I will do better next week!I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Morning All
Sorry to say that my decluttering performance has been dreadful during my working week and since I posted last weekend! All that has been added to my current CS bag is 1 x jumper and an unopened pack of Christmas window decorations. Never mind, bit more time over the weekend, so hopeful for some stuff reduction to report soon.
Got to do some laundry basket and dust decluttering this morning. Glad I did an online grocery order earlier in the week, saves venturing out to Sainsbugs today and more time at home to do some bloomin' decluttering.
Well done all, all this stuff gone from our homes and minds.

Good morning all,
I did really well just after Christmas, but also found that being back at work this week called a near halt to decluttering activities. I did however manage to go through a pile of books and have a few in the CS bag. I'm just catching up with the thread and then will get on with the 'room of doom'. Hopefully the CS bag pile will have grown a lot by this evening!0 -
Overs day today!
Guess you are all wondering what that is.
On the second Saturday in January my daughter hosts an overs day where we all (friends and family) take our leftover food from Christmas. So I am decluttering the following
32. Thorntons Chocolates
33. After 8 mints
34. Truffles
35. Chocolate biscuits
36. 4 wrapped biscuits
37. Sweet lollypop
Also we do a secret Santa with a present we don't need or want
38. A tea towel disguised! as a large ten pound note.
On Thursday I went to my local WI where we did a similar secret Santa. I took 5 things so I could give some to women who didn't take any to swap.
39. Assortment of sweets
40. Guylian chocolates
41. Truffles
42. Another box of chocolates
43. A packet of loose tea
In exchange for a present we were given a raffle ticket - when it was my turn to choose from the wrapped presents it turned out to be more chocolates! So I gave them away too. Not going to number those as they never reached my house.
No wonder I need to lose weight - the first thing to lose is the chocolates.
Now to declutter some cereal and milk - it's time for breakfast.

I am feeling really pleased with my decluttering today.
I have managed to:
* Shred various credit card statement from 2007 and onwards. How long do you keep your statements?
* Recycle various instruction manuals, some for items we no longer have.
* Shred paid utitility bills for previous addresses.
* 1 unloved conditioner used up when cleaning my makeup brushes
* 1 birthday card has been posted
The plan for today is to continute to go through instruction manuals and for those that I keep only keep the information in English.
Then on Sunday start selling my CD's (at least bring in the box from the garage where they are currently stored) to remind me to do this task.
Good luck to you all.No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23

Found a couple of more things
44. Bottle of Martini to the overs party - I like extra dry Martini, but I was given Bianco for Christmas by the same person who gave me a bottle of Bianco for last Christmas. Have decluttered the older bottle.
45. Jar of Option Mint Chocolate to overs party - I have two in the house.
