I'm struggling with electrical items - old plugs, transformer from old Christmas tree lights, light bulbs etc because I don't think I should just put these in the bin and no car to take them to the tip. So they just mount up.

Frogletina - could you put them on freecycle? You'd be surprised at what people will come and pick up for freeDecluttering 2015: 2162/20150 -

My local council takes away electrical items and they don't count as part of your uplifts (we get 3 free a year), its worth phoning them. Certainly mine want to keep them out of landfill and thats why they have that policy.0

Doing a bit of late-night decluttering in the bedroom. Oo-er missus!

Well the customs considered my see-through bag too large, so had to transfer to a smaller bag, so had to choose some items to jettison. Annoying thing is I used the same bag at the same airport at the end of November and they were ok with it
The exact same thing has happened to me before - I always use the same size ziplock bag, but one time they insisted it was too big and to tip it out into a smaller one...0 -

Someone on Freegle might want the plugs and transformer - I also have some telephone wire for an extension - not sure if anyone uses it these days of cordless and mobile phones. As well I have a work top that someone might want but have no idea how to describe it - perhaps I will have to take a photo of it.
No one would want the light bulbs - I have just checked and it looks as if I can just throw these in the household bin.

Hello all, please can I join in? I found the 2014 thread late last year and found it very helpful. I'll reset the counter for this year.
I have bagged up a big pile of stuff to take to the charity shop and recycling centre tomorrow but I won't count it on here until it's left my home."Does it spark joy?" - Marie Kondo
