The plan today is to sort out my purse.

I have also done the following:
    * A pair of shoes have been binned that was not worth repairing (worn for more than 10 years).
    * A shower gel has been used up
    * More candles have been used up.
    * Yesterday OH shredded a lot of his paperwork
No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23
    Boots points:£39.21. Extra money in 2012:£674.59. In 2013 £603.48. 2014: £85. 2015: £0 :j
  • Welcome to the new declutterers

jinny I began numbering the items I was getting rid of at the beginning of 2014, because I was aiming for 365 items in the year. I didn't make it, but I am carrying on with the counting because I find it makes me think when I go to buy something - I think to myself - 'I've got rid of xxxx number of things, do I really need anything else?'.

I am already decluttered, in that there's no visible clutter in my house or cupboards, but I have things that I never use (and don't get me wrong, I am very grateful to be in that position) so the stuff I am getting rid of now is hard to find, and harder to get rid of (please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks 'I've had this for ages, so I should keep it' - even if I don't use it!?). So, three hundred-odd items from an already clutter free house is quite eye-opening
Enjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.

Right I'm going to make a point of going through the post each day when it gets delivered.
    # note to self do the following straight away.
i.e recycle for all envelopes & leaflets, mark in diary when bills need paying.

Getting fed up with a pile of paperwork that seems to take ages to go through.

    13 - Flyers - recycle bin
14 - pay car insurance & shred old documents.

Looking in the fridge .... half opened things to use up

    14 - tinned tomatoes
    15 - ham

looks like chips, egg, ham & tomato's for tea.

    Hello

Please may I join this challenge?

Last year a 2 cheap bookcases and a cheap wood veneer 2 draw filing cabinet broke and once emptied taken to the tip. I had too much stuff in them, they'd lasted 6 years so I did well out of them. All the stuff from these pieces of furniture are in boxes stored in Living and Bedroom.

This years goal is to declutter these boxes so a) I have clear floors and b) it will be easier to clean. I aim to spend at least 15 mins every day except Sunday doing this.

welcome DFF, sounds a good plan to set a small time each day. little and often is far less daunting than getting bogged down in too much and it all getting overwhelming so you feel like giving up
