  • Hi there

This year l will organise and declutter. Had started two years ago, my Mum fell ill and spent the last 20 months in and out of hospital. She passed away last feb and have spent 8 months decluttering her house. She was a real horder. Had wven found bags which looked as though they were the contents of watspaper bins in them, pencil sharpenings, tissues, receipts etc. she aslo seemed to keep all her mothers and mother in laws things.
Needless to saymy house in now bursting with crates of stuff to look through and a lot of it to keep and display bit need to organise space. Also looking to swap daughters beedrooms about which will require the dumping room to be cleared for eldest and study will move down to her bedroom.
This will start today with sort all the christmas stuff before it goes away, decluttering at source, no point in shoving it in boxes and leaving it until next year. Am hoping to find a whole bag of stocking gifts that have been swallowed up in the mess. Most annoying!

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
So far today 2 old pillows, 5 half-used black eyeliners and 3 dry mascaras have been binned.
4 nebuliser attachments put in the car to return to pharmacy - they're the wrong size for mine.
I've put 5 cushion pads and a pair of curtains on fc.
Cleared out the food cupboards and I now have some dried pulses in the sc with an ice-cream tub of chilli from the freezer, which was far to hot for me. After adding some water, onion and tomatoes it looks like I'm going to have at least two ice-cream tubs full when it's done. This isn't exactly de-cluttering but at least it's given me more room in the larder (if less in the freezer ;)).
For lunch I'm having the lone health bar in an otherwise empty box and the last of the F&F in the packet, mostly crumbs but waste not want not. There are two nice clear shelves in the larder now.
Really enjoying myself, the animals better not sit still or they might get recycled too!

accidentally broke a mug washing up at work yesterday, not sure whos it was, but ive taken a nice one we'd had but never used in today with a 'sorry' note and left it in the staff room as a replacement.
took tennis balls, returned toys and plastic tat toys into work so they are all out now.

18 mags from last year have been decluttered into recycling bag
a file of the kids school letters has been gone through and about 1/2 are earmarked for the shredder.

hoping to do this myself later, we used to run a martial arts club before christmas but it dwindled out and all but one student gave up. we decided to call it a day as it was costing too much to run for 1. anyway she didnt come the last couple of weeks so ive still got her certificate, insurance book and christmas pressie. going to go down tonight at what would have been start time just incase she turns up.

got another pressie that will need taking to local leisure centre at weekend as we didnt get a chance to take it round before.
