Hi all,
I'm in too, if you don't mind.
We're intending to move this year, and I don't want to move things I could have dumped prior to moving (like I did when we last moved 11yrs ago and I was heavily preggers).
So, my intention is 2015 in 2015 ... and so far, I've managed to do approx. 6 items per day to put me on that target.
Today, however, I'm intending on emptying the utility room to give it a deep clean, so hopefully I'll be able to give that a good going over and decluttering!GC - March 2024 -0 -

Yes definitely get rid of stuff now & not like I did when we last moved (& a lot of others I guess). Packed & moved everything then got rid of half the stuff when we moved. Could have saved me a lot of time doing it before we moved.0 -
No clutter - oh! one of my favorite subjects and the families = Don't throw out my stuff!
It is an ongoing battle.
Today I have tossed things in the recycle bins. A jar in the bottle crate. Papers and last years diary of of things in the green bin.
Christmas cards are being chopped up. I save the front for next years gift tags and the backs go in the recycle bin.
Cereal box card I use for toddler drawings or shopping lists and after in the recycle bin.The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -
An empty 7pint beer keg from Christmas and and empty tub that had chocs in are being recycled today. Dd1 wants the choc tub for work storage.SPC~12 ot 124

Right today's decluttering...
5. 2 x packs playing cards (CS)
6. Old marked t-shirt (recycling)
7. Daughter's outgrown jacket (recycling)
8. Net curtain whitener sachet (used whilst washing dog towels)
9. Insoles (used in Daughter's boots)
10. Old pen (worked intermittently so binned)
Will start really decluttering tomorrow when we all start work again and life gets back to normal. I work from home so can snatch the odd 15 minutes to declutter an area / drawer. It's better to beg forgiveness than ask permission.0 -
Utility room shelves and cupboards done
3 carrier bags of detritus decluttered :j
May have hit a snag(ette) with DH, he reckons if I declutter any more the house will look empty ...... although even he couldn't see how the utility room looked empty, just clean and tidy!!
Baby steps, baby steps ....GC - March 2024 -0 -
Hi 2015 is the year I downsize from 5bed house to a 3bed! Lots of stuff already decluttered but still much more to do in the next 2 months!
I recently read the book in the link below (borrowed from the library so I don't add to the clutter!) Lots of ideas in it, have kept hold of it to re-read.
