  • Can I join too? When we moved to this house 11 years ago it seemed huge compared to our old house and we had a loft for the first time which we boarded up and the kids used to play up there. Now the loft is so full you cannot see the boards and the house is cluttered too.
I am not a hoarder but my hubby and daughter are terrible. However I can't blame them for all of it. I started trying to get rid of ten items a day and have managed it so far this year (all three days of it:o). but I know going back to work tomorrow will make this an impossible target. So I am going to go for ten a day at weekends. plus one a day in the week. I know if I set an impossible target I will get disheartened. Going to add this to my signature but hoping I will beat it.:D
Enough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D

Hello. I've read the Marie Kondo ' art of tidying' book and I like some of her ideas, but I am also going to declutter bit by bit for a while (she suggests doing single categories in one go) so I have less stuff to start the process with. Last night I emptied, sorted and fixed two drawers that have been driving me nuts for about a year! One bag of rubbish out, and a whole drawer freed up.
Why didn't I do it earlier?
    Trying to keep in budget.

Just decluttered 6 cracker toys into bin. They were fun little things for new years day, not worth keeping yet, in true cluttered dd style, had sat in a bowl on the kitchen surface ever since. Now gone :-)

    7. Old pair of my pink bed socks given to my dog, they will be destroyed by tonight when she remembers they are downstairs so will be binned.

    8. Went through the box of pens and got rid of the ones that don't work.

Hiya can I join in too please. I've made a start already. I have three small children and I run a business from home. I need to downscale on general accumulated stuff, paperwork and junk my kids won't let go of. I'm wanting and needing to decorate 2 rooms.

Yesterday's dejunk saw the emptying of bedside cabinet and under 2 girls beds.

Think I better join this little group, you all mike make me de-clutter more I sure need it.

    Started today-
1 - Christmas decorations down, packed away in boxes ready to be put in loft.
2 - Christmas cards down, just save a few to make into gift tags, rest in recycling bag.

Just went to get cereal box out of cupboard, and what do I find 3 yes 3 boxes of cornflakes open what's this all about!
On closer inspection one box is newly open, the other two has about 2 inches left in the bottom. Consisting of cornflakes & dust, why can't they just empty one box first whether in their cereal dish or out for the birds. grrr

3 - Cornflakes boxes in recycle bin, cornflakes bit out for the birds (they'll sure need them this morning as there's been a sharp frost.

Didn't post yesterday but I did declutter a makeup bag. I don't use makeup bags and it was given to me for Christmas. Ive been looking at it since Christmas day wondering what I could use it for but in all seriousness I don't need it. I feel guilty for getting rid of it as it was a gift but ive given it a good home.

Todays offering will be a mop bucket. Don't need it now ive got my steam mop and since I wont have much rubbish for the bin men this week I can bag it up and chuck it in my wheelie bin.:)
