    My bin is full :(

I've started a bag of non-food waste, packaging that can't be recycled etc. might ask neighbours if they have room (they have a bigger wheelie bin than me).

I have one of those johnsons baby boxes, got as a maternity gift with my eldest who's nearly 6. It resides in the living room, under the side table and contains wipes, hairbrushes, sudocrem and all sorts of tat that I "use" when getting the kiddies ready downstairs. I've sorted and binned some random carp from there. Including some gold lametta (DD wanted long Rapunzel hair :)) and a healthy eating card from last summer holiday kids club.

I've also kept some broken Christmas lights out when I put the rest of the stuff in the loft. Usually I'd put them away broken :o oops

I'd like to join in please!

We are FINALLY moving in 2016 so want to seriously declutter in preparation:j

I made a start by going to the charity shop and dropping off 3 bin bags worth of stuff, this included 2 big coats and some unwanted Xmas presents. I didn't count it all individually and it was before the New Year so that's kick-started me:)

Tomorrow I am sending off some parcels to friends so can start my list

    1. 10 balls of wool sold to an online friend
    2. 7 balls of wool gifted to a friend

    Big bag of stuff going to the charity shop tomorrow as well as a bin bag full of old paper and card recycled;

    3. 3 balls of wool sold online
    13 - 4. 10 card-making items to CS
    15 -14. 2 knitting books to CS
    18 - 16. 3 baby shower items to CS
    19. Random kids book I found to CS
    20. Unwanted Xmas present to CS
    21. Clipboard to CS
    22. Ring to CS
    23. Big pot of Vaseline finally used up after about 6 years!
    Decluttering 2015: 2162/2015
  • Hi everyone!
Not much today. Couple of bags of general rubbish got fired in the outside bin, more plastic drinks bottles and some envelopes in the recycling bin.
I should hopefully get a bit more done during the week as I'm busy out of the house at weekends.
Have a pile of sheets to donate to CS as we have a bigger bed now :) but won't get near the charity shop til next week. If I bag them up and put it by my front door that's a step closer to reminding me to take it. Hopefully I'll accumulate more before I go.
  • A few small victories for me today. Couple of DS's tops, little Christmas tin, a Christmas DVD we won't watch again, a Christmas jigsaw which is lovely, but I bought it 5 years ago and have never done it. All in my current CS bag. Christmas tree down and baubles all packed away, nothing for exit there as had a bit of a cull last year. I need to get a large bag to store tree in, original box recycled as it had gone a bit damp stored in garage. Last bits in kids' selection boxes put in sweetie tin, packaging all recycled.
I need to sort the tv cupboard, new DVDs from Christmas won't fit in nicely. They mostly belong to DS and DD so will do that with them. There are some video tapes at the back, they could move into other cupboard in lounge if kids want to keep them still, there is space.
No progress with various paperwork piles. Will definitely do one of those soon!
Keep going all. Every item is progress.

Husband away with work for a few days this week so I will have time to do some sorting. I will do a charity shop drop off one morning, a clothes drop off another and a tip drop off on another. All on the way to work. I wonder if he will notice? He thinks I cull too much, I don't think I go far enough.
