    Evening all

I'm in a real grumpy mood this evening and its all OH's fault. He is in a fool mood and being grumpy and its transferred to me. Luckily I was going for a swim with a friend earlier do had an hour or so of cheery company and chatter.

Spend day as needed milk and dog treats. Unfortunately they had reduced priced xmas chocolates for 25p, so I stocked up as each one has 3 mini bags in and they are already portioned to about 130 calories so I can attempt to ration my habit.

As well as the swim, I walked the dogs so that is 2 exercise sessions in one day and a LTW :)

Got a couple of nice social things this wknd - first dog agility session tomorrow, dinner at a place I love for a friend's birthday on Saturday and a friend is making me brunch on Sunday :) Sometimes I go neatly a monthly without this much socialising ;)

Loveadove - I'm a bit late to this but wanted to say I also really like First Direct. Always a helpful person at the end of the phone!

    Hi everyone

Checking in! 5 NSD's so far, and I've walked to the next tube stop along every day too. I've taken lunch into work each day. :T

The one thing Im struggling with is meal planning - at the moment I'm only managing to think about tomorrow. Anyway will go back and read over this thread for some ideas!

Fmess- Buy the Fitbit!!!! I literally asked the same question on here a couple of months back. My colleague at work lent me hers for my afternoon wall and it was a great motivator. I bought myself a different one (I have a wrist strap one and she has the clip-on one) and the only time I take it off is to shower! I aim for over 10,000 steps a day and the online dashboard tells you how many miles this is etc. It also tracks how efficient your sleep is- how many times you turn over, wake up etc. I would defo recommend!

Dd and I started a pot for roadkill a few weeks aho, when we found a rare £1 coin! Every time we find another coin, she counts it all up again. We are saving it up for a treat next Christmas!

Today I am grateful for wonderful office staff, for cheerful colleagues, for a few mins of glorious sunshine, for dd trying to fly, for dh definitely being able to be here for dd's party.

Roadkill find number one, a penny. Was surrounded by 4 passengers on the bus who watched me bend down for a penny. Bit embarrassed but told DS a penny is a penny.

  • samiszel that's so weird just been looking at fitbit online as i have some cashback and really tempted got almost to checkout and decided to look into it more.I came on here and yours was the first post i read!
liltOH unclogged the pipe and it was full of my hair. New house rule hair has to be brushed before going in the shower.Still might be costly as boards under bath don't look good. Its a case of wait and see. Going to seal it tomorrow and hope that solves it.
Had to go shopping as DD1 has food tech tomorrow only went into for strawberries and came out £18 lighter. Fatal should of just taken the amount i thought they would cost.
budgets = food gone:eek:/ petrol almost gone:eek:/nsd:mad:/ Treats: where the money gone? far far away:mad:/exercise not happening/declutter: only my purse:(
    time for me :fat chance

LoveaDove February is fine with me - lots more 'f' words to play with.

Another SFD - went to B00ts last night, they hadn't reduced the counter choc further so picked what I wanted (2 bits each for DS3 and myself) and paid with my points. Not going to be hunting roadkill - thought about picking a small pack of tissues off the pavement the other day (found a nearly full tube of my favourite handcream last year) but it was when I kept going dizzy so it wasn't worth it. Actually felt pleased that I haven't seen any for a while as flat things on the floor are a problem - would have to be near a convenient windowsill so I could hold on. Thought about kicking the tissue pack across the pavement as the pub window wasn't that far.

Today has been mostly lazy. Slept well but still dozed nearly all morning. just did not want to move. New library books delivered. Offered to switch back to normal service as I can now walk to the library but woman said I wouldn't be able to carry them and if I wanted to go and choose some, leave them at the desk and she would bring them - I just felt guilty using the home delivery now that I am a little better.

Found a lovely make do and mend thread on here so spent most of the afternoon pottering through that and the numerous links people recommended. Walk was a couple of trips up and down the backs and nearly gave in and had one of the dreaded ready meals but had another look in the fridge and settled on hm soup and got a portion of the famous veg lasagne out later.

Have eaten the last apple and no cakes or biscuits so to avoid giving in to temptation have used the two baking apples and made 5 individual crumbles, used the last of the custard powder (no sugar in the apples or custard and used porridge oats for the crumble). Have eaten half of the largest crumble so more crumble and custard to re-heat another day. All the carrots in the veg basket were just enough for a double mix of carrot cake so just had a tiny piece of that.

Would like biscuits but my back was aching (walking outside seems to be doing it as well - not in agony like poor lilt but noticeable) so biscuits and other judicious use of the last few eggs another day.

DS2 has been round for me to do a quick repair on his new coat (should check all the buttons as soon as you buy as the process they use doesn't always secure them) and have mended a brooch (not really that, an accessory to one of his outfits but nearest I can tell you) for DS3. So some success from an indolent day - keep reminding myself I am recovering from major surgery and if body wants sleep, sleep.

Think walks have been taking a lot of energy and moving the bed didn't help even though I did it very carefully and moved some things several times in order to do it safely. Also energy saga used 6 pages in my account book, have sent emails asking for adjustments and claiming money back from both accounts. Also applied to switch supplier here (not sure anyone will take on a house that will be sold shortly - I hope). Made a note that existing supplier still owes me dual fuel discount from first part of last year (should be on my February bill and paid within 28 days). Tariff has changed but the DFD is still payable even if I change supplier.

Today I am grateful for the lovely day (made it up and down the back because it seemed a pity to stay inside) for making do and mending and for carrot cake.

Thank you for the advice :) Do you have the flex or the charge samiszel? I think I'd get more out of the charge as the flex only has lights and no display but it is cheaper.

Buy it!!! Brilliant invention! Mine gives me nice messages and is always positive!

I'm intrigued, what kind of messages?

Thanks for the Mr S recommendation lilt :)
