Hiya Turtles
SFD #6 for me today. Made a batch of soup on Sunday and needed some wraps to use as croutons. Stocked up on enough to last me the week. Got some veg to munch on too, and some potatoes for jackets. About to go and freeze the ones I cooked spare last night.
Quiet week so far at work, which after the last three months is very welcome. Although my colleagues are dropping like flies sickness wise.
Best friend's wedding is March so the OH and I are trying to lose a few pounds. Me for the bridesmaid dress and photos, and her just to look nice for me,:D. She doesn't have to, at all, but we are both doing healthier eating and some exercise. Got myself a new exercise bike on Boxing Day, saved £300 pound on it, and the OH is starting her running again. I think it is helping that we are both doing it so we can spur each other on and offer support on the bad days.
I'm more than happy to run a month and will happily volunteer for March. I've got quite a bit of time off in March, end of holiday year, so will be able to give it some time.

Still sticking to the meal plan and taking lunches to work.
Today was a spend day. Had to fill up the car, but had a voucher to use so got petrol for £1 a litre! Cost just under £45 to fill. Printer wasn't working so I couldn't get a receipt. Will have to wait til it shows on bank statement to update the exact amount. Dont think I have ever paid so little for fuel in the time I have been driving so am really pleased!
Also spend £1.99 for a little present for DS as he is going into hospital for minor surgery next week so will be nice for him to have a little something when he wakes up.0 -
oh and DD1 have gone to see the hobbit at the IMAX tonight with in laws. We've paid for them as its their birthday presents, but did use the 241 orange wednesday vouchers so saved quite a bit of money. Still expensive as OH insisted on IMAX 3D.However on the plus side the in laws are treating them to tea as long as OH drives. Had to by bath sealant as water started coming through the kitchen ceiling last night:mad:. We think the pipes are blocked and put pressure on the seal. OH reckons when he takes it apart it will be full of my hair as its very long! Glad its him sorting it and not me. YS at coop sausages(in freezer now) and pork pie.Spent most of the day trying to cut words from essay feel like my brain is going to explode and ooze out my ears.:eek:budgets = food gone:eek:/ petrol almost gone:eek:/nsd:mad:/ Treats: where the money gone? far far away:mad:/exercise not happening/declutter: only my purse:(
time for me :fat chance0 -
sazzle sorry but I have to :rotfl: at your hair being caught. There is an absolutely evil caustic solution you can put down that burns right through it. I have to use it.. a lot. I collect my hair from the plug and pop it onto my windowsill. The birds take it for nesting
but what disappears down the plughole clogs fast!
Hope there is no lasting damage to your ceiling. If it stains, use a stain blocker before repainting as it keeps on coming through even when dry
So my afternoon ended in pain so bad my eyes kept watering. Just can't cope with sitting for 9 hours a day even with plenty of walks and standing for some time. Came home and stood under a hot shower and feel better now. On the sofa enjoying my new toy.
Have a lovely night everyone. SFD 4 intact here. xx

Hi everyone, lost last night's post when the kindle ran out of battery life, so before this one disappears I'm claiming the last two days as spendy. Yesterday, I spent £6.96 and 83p today so that's
Sfd total = 5
Total grocery spend = £7.79
Things going fine here, had forecast of my oap so I can work out budgets to see when I can finish work. Not sure if I'm pleased or not, I will be happy to retire and not work but it means I'm way older than I feel lol. Still it may mean I have some time to myself, what with working and looking after dgc I only have one day to myself once a fortnight, I wouldn't have it any other way but I do look forwards sometimes when their mum and dads are on holidays!!!!!
Hope everyone is OK and feeling well

A food shop day which left me staggering home off the bus with all the weight! Then I went back up to anothrr sm for just a rucksackfull and fair danced home due to the lightness of it :rotfl:.
My shopping was v specific and listed, and I am improving at keeping to the list! Think my only deviation this time was a 49p advent calendar valid until 2016. My little pony. And if dd goes off them, then dh will be given it...
Today I am grateful for being warmly dressed to enjoy the bracing wind, for not having to wait lomg for the bus, for a glorious rainbow this morning, for my knitting, for a parcel delivery.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Tough day at work thanks to a certain colleague's behaviour but trying to ignore it and brush it off.
Also weighing up the purchase of a Fitbit as think it'd be very useful and motivating but not sure I can justify the expense this year.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

LoveaDove can you add a bit on (possibly under contenders list) to add people who volunteer to run the thread for a month (+ any months that are preferred/ not good). Then we can put a rota together and remember to carry it forward to the next month - I got dizzy keep tracing back to find the rota but then found I had written it in my address book as well (think with November's challenge, so under N ).
mothernerd - I have followed your recommendation and have added a section to the contenders on page 1 for any one who would like to volunteer to run the thread for a month in either Feb, March, April, May, June or July. Do you have a preference for month?
speakingofart- Do you also have a preferred month to lead?
apple- Yay! Just seen your post! Have you been to Texas before?
Oooo and Lilt and Calling and and shyspender!!
Please just shout (type) months at me, which one's work and which one's do not for you all
Any body else who would be happy to take the reigns do let me know.
Very rough draft:
Feb- mothernerd- confirmed
March- shyspender confirmed
April- Calling14 (can not run May) - confirmed
May- speakingofart (preference for May) - confirmed
June- applemuncher (can't do April due to holiday)- confirmed
July- Liltdiddylilt (plenty of notice) confirmed
:coffee:
