speakingofart hope your exam goes/went well.

Today will be SFD number 4. Will start using my swimming pool membership toady and go for a first swim in years. Probably drown after lane one.

Going to have duck noodle soup for dinner tonight using the stock I made from our pre-xmas duck. YUM.

Took some more pictures for ebay last night of silver plated spoons etc from my aunti I just rediscovered and hopefully will be able to list everything tonight and stick them on for 10 days to finish next weekend.

EDIT: back from the pool, exhausted. Another big motivation to quit the death sticks. Breast stroke was fine but don't have the lung capacity for crawl anymore.

speakingofart I said towards the end of the last thread that I would do February, unless someone (from existing list or someone new) wanted to do it/ it suited them better. We have run through everyone who originally put their names forward, who is still around - lost a couple of turtles but they will be back sometime.

LoveaDove can you add a bit on (possibly under contenders list) to add people who volunteer to run the thread for a month (+ any months that are preferred/ not good). Then we can put a rota together and remember to carry it forward to the next month - I got dizzy keep tracing back to find the rota but then found I had written it in my address book as well (think with November's challenge, so under N ).

Worked my backside off this morning in work so taking 5 minutes break and joining in the fun and frolics on here.

Thanks your nice comments regarding my toothy pegs, must admit Samiszel thought of having my molar tooth out to save costs, but thought so big, face might alter shape lol. Loveadove had emergency treatment with my dentist xmas eve so ok to hang on few weeks for nhs appointment.

Shattered today, haven't felt brilliant last couple of nights really headachey. Bf gone down with Manflu but I should escape that being female. Will solder on busy in work, then get home run dog about and few hrs grandson playtime all week. Loved being off at xmas and a lie in.

Up to 5 sfd today, hair dyed no roots woo hoo last night tired when I started, had to wash dressing gown and heaps of towels, bathroom argh - then annoyingly saw an offer with a trainee in my hairdressers to get it done cheaply. Next time will treat myself.

On last of gammon butties today. Now may just have eggs in some form for tea need to get my iron levels up for blood donating on Friday. Scrambled eggs be nice for a change.Need a break from meat.

Day 7 and I haven't used my credit card once this year - hoping it lasts.

    Hi all.

Today won't be a SFD as I am doing the grocery shop at Lidl. We don't need loads so it shouldn't be too much.

The item I sold on ebay at the weekend was confirmed as delivered by the courier (no feedback though, hardly anyone seems to leave it these days) so I transferred the money to my overdraft.

Just hit the wrong button and lost my post.

First Direct are excellent. My 6% regular saver kicked out on the 5th, showed in my e-saver with £92.92 interest the 6th, and I was able to set up a new one online immediately yesterday, funding it from Januarys wages which I had saved for it as usual. Staff are excellent, easy to use HSBC for whatever you need... they are great!

Loveadove no worries, I just didn't want to upset you. You've done a great job with the challenges; it is my own ineptitude that means I don't meal plan effectively ;)

WTW 1, and LTW 1 completed today on first day back. Super slippery, saw children and adults alike taking tumbles on the way to work, but although I slipped 7 times, I stayed upright. I was chuckling to myself. The chinese proverb, 'Fall down 7 times, stand up 8' so true :rotfl: - I did pull my back but it is a lot more manageable today so will be walking home happily :)

SFD #4 today. Dinner is an easy jacket spuds or scrambled eggs on toast, and I have to batch cook for the rest of the week. Then I will sit down with one or the other of my new toys and chill a bit.

YNAB installed easy as pie on my new Macbook; never missed a beat, straight into my budget and off I went.

Re running months, I am happy to do one but not very creative... :rotfl: so if you're without an organiser give me plenty of time to sort it out :D

Back to work for me now.

I should have said. put me on the rota to do another month running the thread. Have requested one lot of money from my energy supplier and pointed out that there is more due to me soon, which they could keep in the unlikely event of empty house running up a big bill by itself (wasn't sarcastic - although when a reply pinged into my account, I pinged back to say no their automated response wasn't helpful).

Still trying to get an up to date reading here - had to move a bed (it's on wheels so pulled it out with a walking stick then mostly just walking backwards - some sitting) but still can't get low enough or right angle to read meter so will wait for Ds3 to wake up.

Then will try the Energy Club when have adjusted the figures - DS3 and I will use less than DS2 and figures for old house include 3 months of 'I don't have the heating on much' DS1. Last time I tried to use the energy club, I bungled my password and got myself locked out of the whole forum (doesn't help having two accounts).

So early check in and not claiming a SFD yet as chocolate may be involved - will try to go to B00ts and use my points but it's wet so again, need DS3 to put on my proper shoes (wooly wellie type slippers grip but not so well fitting and noticed the other day, wet comes through when I press my foot down).

Today I am grateful for the 'accountant' bit of my brain (wrote it all down yesterday but loved quoting the energy company's own figures and statements + dates of all relevant information, back at them, to make my case), for it being a bit warmer (still grey wet and miserable) and for the wheels on the bed (should be a small enough job for DS3 to do the meter now - just hope he doesn't put more stuff on the floor).
