Lilt sorry to hear that. Sounds agonising. I am a similar age to you and had an accident where I damaged my neck when I was about 12 but I am pretty much fully recovered from that now. I suffer with problems in my lower back now partially because of weak joints and partially because I have poor posture and carried children around on my hips a lot! The first few times I had physio did help but wasn't brilliant. But I have seen a new physiotherapist recently and she was fantastic. I cannot believe the difference. Sorry to everyone else for the off-topic post but just wanted to give you hope to keep persevering with treatment for it!

Lilt. I used to work with a woman who ate the same meals on a weekly basis, and her husband used to buy fish and chips etc on the way home, she couldn't get it in her head that he got bored of the same meals week in and out. We used to laugh about it but at least she knew what she was cooking every night !!!

  • So today is SFD 3/18 - haven't left the house today. Not many steps to report....

Dinner was a hodge podge of a fry up - all from the cupboard/freezer.

Haven't managed to meal plan yet....but have been thinking about ideas.

Off to football tomorrow - DH is paying for dinner out! so technically should be a SFD for me!

    Hi All,

SFD no 2 for me today and a bit more decluttering. Our bedroom hasn't looked so clean and tidy for some time. It's amazing what clearing some clutter off the shelves can do. I think I will start in one of the wardrobes tomorrow. We have 3 double wardrobes in our room and they are all full and I still have nothing to wear. Well that's not strictly true but I probably fall into the 'wear 20% of your clothes 80% of the time' category.

Meal plan has been produced and agreed with OH up to Wednesday next week and the only thing we may need to buy is some more milk. I have meal plans in my head for at least 2 more weeks, using up stocks in the freezer and cupboards, but OH can only plan so far in advance, so I will agree them with him early next week. The games we need to play to keep our OH's on board :rotfl:

I really can't complain about him as he is very supportive and if I complain about losing a SFD for something like milk he offers to pay for it so I don't have to BUT I don't allow that as to me it's cheating and worse still it's only cheating myself. See what you guys have done to me

Just had a lovely bath with essential oils in, part of my looking after and putting myself first which is one of my 2015 goals. Let's see how long I can last.

Hope the pain goes away soon Lilt it really can't be easy with mini you to take care of as well.

    Night all

Lilty - you really ARE wonderwoman! Cape and boots and tiara thingy too! Once this pain goes, will you go back to the osteo??

And thank you for your wiiU explanation! Dd is totally cynical about most adverts now (apart from Disneyland Paris ones) that the idea of upgrading when not necessary strikes her as utterly silly! She'd much rather play on her bouncy hopper, or the wobble board, or just dance around interspersed with trying to fly!

Today I am grateful for a family walk in the rain, for curried parsnip soup, for dd's dancing, for library books, for a phone call from my mum.

  • Thanks Welshkitty - the doctor was really positive and said he doesn't recommend this procedure for many people but when he does it really works so I am hopeful!! He also said having Physio whilst the issue was flaring was the worst idea, so I should wait until I feel better before attempting. 8 week wait I hope!! I too have spent the last 3 years carrying my DD Jellytot around on my hip and exacerbating the issue! I hope to get back in the gym once I feel a bit better as I haven't been able to go in forever and I really miss it :)

Apple DD sounds like a perfect mini version of her mummy. You've taught her very well! I would say if your Wii goes and you enjoy it, and wanted to expand what you could do with it, then buy this, but in reality if you're not that fussed you can buy secondhand Wii's for next to nothing now so there is no need to splurge! I would much rather have Jellytot enjoy the great outdoors than stick her head in a gaming console. Burt then, look at her daddy, that is all she sees! I will go back to the Osteo twice between now and April 30th as that is as much as my cover from work will stretch to. I know it makes a vast difference to my capabilities but I also know how long I can stretch without it :) the cover starts over again on 1st May so I can have another 8 sessions or so the following 12 months! :)

fmess *snorts* I didn't have much choice. It was a use it or lose it situation ;) now resolved by overcrowding in the freezer and far too many pots! ;)

Thanks for all the good wishes folks. I just discovered my red tiger balm and am currently in a state of 'aaaahhhhh' :D

  • Well it's been a funny day, but a no spend day !! That's 2 already !
Decided to try and keep cost down with food shopping at different shops, going to do a three week shop at supermarket for basics, use local butcher who always gives me a discount and local fruit and veg . Thursday's will be my first shopping day, so I will let you know how it goes .
I'm really excited about this challenge.

  • Thanks Cupcake for the Lidl washing recommendation I'll keep it in mind, I am going to do my shop in Aldi on Monday, can anyone recommend a cheap washing powder/liquid in there please?

Ended up spending today on a cup of tea in my local bakers - £1.80. It's not a coffee shop as such, they are a bakers with just three tables and basic drinks, and I like to support them and meet with friends on a Saturday morning. It gets me out of bed and sets me up for a productive day!

I've cleaned out all of my utility room cupboards, including my allotment one and DIY one, so a messy and unpopular job! Was hoping to find enough roadkill to cover the tea but only managed 53p! Organised my chutney shelf and decanted the sloe gin, so sloe and apple mush is now straining overnight ready to make jelly tomorrow :D I remembered some swing-top bottles I had in the cellar from a friend who emigrated, and also found 3 large kilner jars with them that I've somehow overlooked! All been in the dishwasher now and ready to be filled :j This is the most productive I've been in ages and I'm really enjoying it all.

Dropped off a bag of stuff at the CS and went to the library to confess my sins and scope out getting back into the habit of borrowing. I have a fine of £18.60  from the dark days a few years ago when I couldn't string together the motivation, organisation and energy required to return books, even though I can see the library from my window. I'm planning to earn the extra money for that fine rather than just pay it off, so that I learn my lesson and don't get in such a mess again.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend :)
