  • Checking in. Still no NSDs for me today. Thursday evening my DS managed to drop my phone (I have done it millions of times) but this time it killed it so saturday went into town to get a new one (it was out of contract). However, they messed up the order and by the time it was all done it cost me over £3 in parking!

Yesterday was OH mums birthday and today needed to do the shopping.

But I am trying to be good and casserole meat on the side defrosting ready to put in the slow cooker tomorrow when I go back to work.

    Hi everyone!

This is my first post! I'm heading back to work tomorrow so its time to really get things moving on all fronts!

    Goals

    1) Pay off all debts by 25th December 2015 (currently £6998)
    2) Create an emergency fund of £1000 (currently £120)
    3) Lose 84lb (I had lost 21lbs but I've definitely put on over
Christmas so need to get back on track).

Any tips, helps, kicks up the backside are very welcome!

  • Stuck to meal plan again last night. Was pasta with left over gammon and sweetcorn. Was really nice and made extra for lunch at work today.
I did this!! Pretty much exactly what you had, although I made a batch of pasta sauce with softened onion, celery, green, red & yellow pepper, basil, oregano, a ton of chopped tomatoes, a tin of passata, garlic puree a a swish of worcester sauce. DUmped chunks of the ham into it and it has been used 2 nights in a row for Jelly, once for me and a couple of batches in the freezer!

Lilt, it made me laugh to think that your Jellytot would be even angrier if she new that you were loudly typing about your loud typing!

Thanks Fmess I'm actually looking forward to it now that I've planned my meals, and have had to stop myself going during the weekend! Glad I have somewhere to share my excitement over a trip to Aldi :o

I started making my own egg fried rice when I had chickens and added eggs to just about everything, and I find it so much nicer than takeaway; the egg is fluffy and you can control the amount of oil.

Synonymous - I had to giggle too :o she can be very demanding. We all share your enthusiasm for shopping properly and getting a bargain so you're in good company. I often shop in mr L, then Mr A then Mr S on shopping day. And I have no car so use the empty pushchair to cart it all about, which means no trolleys, just baskets balanced precariously in each shop. Mr S I only ever buy soya milk and crumpets in. I do not deviate, the shop assistants know me now :o

Lilt feel for you, nothing worse than bad backs combined with demands of lifting and carrying small children. Take it easy you are sounding as busy as Mothernerd. Hope to the operation brings you some relief eventually. Does heat help, I use lots of lavender bags heat in microwave to ease pain.

Work tomorrow and joining Welshkitty in the gammon use up challenge lol. Love it with beetroot roast potatoes.

Can't wait to be reunited with my spreadsheet tomorrow Saddo I am.

I don't know how you survive only having your spreadsheet at work :o I would cry!

I am a bit busy but I am trying to be gentle with myself. I spend a lot of the interim time lying flat on my electric blanket. Yes heat does help, and Tiger Balm which is both hot and cool at the same time. I alternate cold packs with heat pads as directed by physio and doc. It is mainly the lifting and shifting of a not so small child that has crippled me really. :o

Ref the gammon challenge, I had it sliced with fried egg and chips, then chopped and dropped into pasta sauce as above, and then I made a scotch broth and dumped the remaining chunks in there. I was very proud of my complete lack of wastage but at the same time a bit peeved I paid an extra £2 for the joint itself just because it was Christmas. They will be back to £5 now :(

Defo SFD for me. Not even got dressed.. again. #notevensorry

So... nil exercise unless scrubbing kitchen/floors and fridge out are on the list of exercise allowed. Tomorrow I go to collect my macbook from work, purely pop in and out. Does it count as a WTW if I have no intention of working?!?! :rotfl:

My savings disappeared from my regular saver today. so tomorrow they will be in my e-saver ith interest ready to play with since I started putting them away a year ago :D yayyyyyy!! :j:j

  • Morning everyone,

Back to work today - bit of a nasty shock to the system, I'll be honest! However, I'm hoping that it will make it easier to get back into my routine, especially as far as eating healthily goes as I've put on weight over Christmas so need to get back on track. Lost a SFD yesterday as forgot I needed a birthday card, but also picked up some dividers whilst I was at it so that I didn't lose another one to buying them next week. Aiming for as many SFDs as I can get this week - other than car parking on weds, shouldn't need anything apart from milk I hope!

  • Morning everyone, hope you all had good weekends.

Quick update from me - up to 3 no spend days so far this month! Had groceries delivered on Saturday, and also met up with some friends in the pub in the evening. I was tempted to go into town on Sunday to pick up a few bits for the house, but managed to resist.

Starting to get back into the swing of taking lunches to work - I've got leftovers from our Sunday roast for today's lunch, and my partner is making a curry tonight which I'll keep some aside for tomorrow.

I'll be ordering next weekend's groceries in the next day or so, so I'm looking forward to including items to donate to the food bank. Does anyone here that's worked with a food bank know what kind of items are in the greatest demand?

Also charging my FitBit as we speak, and I'm going to get my full 10,000 steps every day this week.

  • Back to normality today, not good for the work / life balance, but certainly better for the debt busting. I'm off to catch up on you all. Happy Monday.
