My honest though traveller is that I am glad you didn't get your cat in the carrier... he could have died in the vetinary surgery with no-one around him. Instead he passed on in comfortable, familiar surroundings with his family all around him. I hope that doesn't sound too offensive. I just thought it might ease your guilt a bit about not forcing him into the carrier.
Hugs to you and your family.
:undecided
Today is a spend day... £31.61 given to morries. However, this was due to a phone call from my dad about their yellow labels. I now have enough meat to last more than a month (all reduced), spare toothpaste (we are down to our last tube and this one was on offer) and we have downgraded our bread to morries which is only 59p (compared to tescimos which is 75p).
Currently got 2 pork chop things cooking in the slow cooker (with ginger, soy sauce, sugar, etc). One of my goals this year is to try and cook more... so we are trying a small amount to see how it goes then next time will make a decent portion.
Hopefully it will go well.
Heading back to work tomorrow... and on to the diet. Fingers crossed I do better this year compared to last years "effort".
Hugs to everyone who needs them.
Thanks Stewby-not offensive at allThanks everyone for your kind comments

Traveller sorry for your sad news.
Stuck to meal plan again last night. Was pasta with left over gammon and sweetcorn. Was really nice and made extra for lunch at work today.
Declaring a SFD today. Had a small purchase from boots but it was medication for DH. It was also paid for out of £10 family gave us when we were late leaving their house one night. They told us to use it to get food on the way home, but DD was feeling sick in the car so we went straight home and cooked a light meal from stores. So, not counting it as a spend and am going to put the £7 odd change into my savings.
Stuck to meal plan again tonight. Used more leftover Turkey in a curry. Also put a portion in freezer for lunch one day next week.
Back to uni for me tomorrow. Will make up wraps to take for lunch and will take a flask of coffee.0 -
Evening all
Traveller I'm so sorry to hear about your kitty but I am glad that they were at home with you. Big hugs
Today was SFD number 3had a whole day out but no one would let me pay for anything
Think my family have realised how determined I am to get rid of this debt and my sister always asks if I am having a no spend day. She even bought a book I wanted and saw today and is putting it away for my birthday
No exercise today and diet not adhered too, will start with earnest tomorrow. Back to work tomorrow and really not looking forward to itLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Sorry to hear about your cat Traveller, I also thought the same as Stewby that it was good that he was at home and didn't have the extra stress of the carrier and the vets, so try not to feel guilty.
Lilt, it made me laugh to think that your Jellytot would be even angrier if she new that you were loudly typing about your loud typing!Synonymous I use Aldees blue Almat non-bio liquid tablets and have had no problems with them.
Thanks Fmess, I'll make a note of that on my shopping list for tomorrow, and to take bags with me which I always forget! I'm actually looking forward to it now that I've planned my meals, and have had to stop myself going during the weekend! Glad I have somewhere to share my excitement over a trip to Aldi
Been another frugal and OS day, and no spends so far. Have made a flask of tea to cut down kettle use and made my sloe and apple jelly which I don't think will set very hard, but will be nice on porridge. Dinner was chilli from the freezer, and I've cooked extra rice to have tomorrow night. I started making my own egg fried rice when I had chickens and added eggs to just about everything, and I find it so much nicer than takeaway; the egg is fluffy and you can control the amount of oil.
In other exciting news I tried a Lush shampoo bar for the first time today (got one free when I asked for a sample before Xmas), it worked really well and will hopefully last me about six monthsNST September: SFD 17/20, food £62.87/£60, travel £61.55/£40, Outings £39.80/£100, Allotment £7.17/£30 Other: £42.32, Meditation ?/30.

Traveller. So sad to hear about your cat. At least you didn't upset him by putting him into the carrier and that he passed away peacefully.
Nothing much to write about. NSD Sat. and Sun.
Meals from plans. In fact made a bit too much today so it's now in the freezer for another day.
Having a delivery from T*sco tomorrow. There is only a C0-op here so it is cheaper to do an on-line shop and pay delivery charge. Plus no carrying heavy shopping and NO impulse buying.
Decluttered a few things and listed lots of stuff on e-bay.Don't really want to go minimalist, just want a bit of space.
Off to see what else I can get rid of and then read some more of your posts.ilovetea xxMake £2024 in 2024 £1161.08

Just a quick one from me, sorry I haven't read any posts yet still feel like s@@@ with this lurgey cough and cold, but I have been in,work as I'm better there than being at home feeling sorry for myself, only thing is I got in at 2.30 and was asleep before 3, and didn't wake until 5.30 and in a minute I will be going up to bed, still just tomorrow to go and then I have 2 easier days looking after dgd before back to work on Thursday. Oh for a lie in.
Still it's been another sfd so that's four in a row, haven't really eaten properly this last week (must rectify this very soon) and tonight I've made some dried milk up that as I found in a cupboard. A@do have some super 6 veggies I want so that's a job,for Tuesday and then the healthy eating can begin, I can't believe one of my resolutions was to look after myself better and I haven't started it yet!!
Anyway going up to bed, hope to catch up with you all tomorrow, hugs and love all round

Traveller, so sorry to hear about your puddie cat, I have had a few over the years and loved every single one, I'm sure some of them still visit especially one old boy who lived well into his 20's, much to the surprise of the vet, as he was very sickly kitten and was down there a lot.

Traveller so sorry about your cat. When the last (of 4) of ours died last February I found comfort in the thought that she had chosen her own time to leave, rather than me have to make the decision and that she was only ill for the last couple of days.
Thanks for the support re son's gf's family. I have tried to be fair, everyone's family is different. I did suggest he would have to come to some accommodation with them but they complain whatever he does - he and gf have been together over 6 years, so they aren't going to split them up. They aren't very supportive of their daughter either.
Another SFD. Have also been for a walk outside. Was going to go around the library but went past the library, around the church, then back across the front of the Civic square, side of the Town Hall, past the bank and down another street to come back to the house (about 3 times as far as planned). Not using the crutches a lot (more for a bit of balance) but will keep using them as motorists gave me more consideration than usual and other pedestrians tended to give me plenty of space, which is useful. Will try to walk every day, unless it turns icy again but will try to do it at quiet times - not ready for crowded pavements and jostling for position.
Done a mini jobs list for the coming week. Lots I can't do but some things I can so a little bit of direction - don't want to just drift through the next six weeks and then wonder where the time went.
Today I am grateful for leftovers, for walking and peace and quiet. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Today I broke my Sfd run I was having this year. Lidls milk, veg, orange juice and jogging bottoms - Total £11.00. Jogging pants for £5 will do for muddy dog walks.
Had a lovely day gorgeous weather, nice company;-) treated to roast beef dinner out and being wooed with Green &Black's homemade cheesecake. Ate so much will probably have a migraine with all chocolate tomorrow. Walked lots but need to start diet next week, giving blood this week my excuse. Lol
Lilt feel for you, nothing worse than bad backs combined with demands of lifting and carrying small children. Take it easy you are sounding as busy as Mothernerd. Hope to the operation brings you some relief eventually. Does heat help, I use lots of lavender bags heat in microwave to ease pain.
Work tomorrow and joining Welshkitty in the gammon use up challenge lol. Love it with beetroot roast potatoes.
