I also managed a down shift! I thought I would struggle to this but I traded my usual Aussie Shampoo for £1.89 bottle of Herbal Essence. I have enough conditioner to last the month but ran out shampoo.
Do you have a home bargains near by at all? My local one stocks Aussie shampoo & conditioner. I can't remember now how much it is, but I know its a lot cheaper there than in places like boots.0 -
Hi everyone
Well at work all day and still feeling ropey (had the lurgey all over Xmas) but had a sleep when I got in and off to bed soon as another early work day tomorrow.
Sfd today, hm soup taken to work and cheese on toast for my tea, so that's
Sfd = 2
So no money gone from budgets.
Meal planning not done yet as I'm still off food and don't fancy an awful lot, but next week I will do one
I will do my food donation when I do my first shop, there is a sm trolley in the entrance so I will put it in there.
2015 goals - I really like 'be happy' but also adding, taking time out for me, work towards retiring later this year and using the craft supplies that I already have before buying more!!!!

Mike the Knight Mission Book has been found! :j. Aftrr I started using another notebook
. So I've pulled off the pages from Mike and stuck them in the other one. I much prefer the othrr one, so Mike is relegated to shopping lists and doodling.
Today I am grateful for a text from my niece, for a great library visit,
for sunshine, for making curtains to go in dd's fold up book, for having just enough wool to finish an owl.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

No, sadly we don't. I've heard lots of good things about it. We're just inundated with £ shops. Everywhere I go Aussie is 3 for £10 at the best price which is quite a big hit in one go.Overdraft: [STRIKE]£529[/STRIKE] £199 BC: [STRIKE]£697.82[/STRIKE] £1974.02 MBNA: [STRIKE]£1874[/STRIKE] £517.00 -

Hi everyone,
Another NSD here and I'm not planning to spend all weekend until I go to Aldi for food on Monday. I've had an interesting day of trying to be OS and frugal!
Instead of throwing away bendy veg that has been in the fridge since I went away for Xmas, I made soup in the slow cooker with a tin of toms and some tomato puree. I also set the breadmaker going on fastbake to do a loaf in an hour but it didn't rise and was partly raw! I usually do ok with the BM but don't use fastbake setting, and I substituted powdered milk for actual milk, maybe this was the problem? Not wanting to be put off on my first frugal day, I chopped the edible bits and put them in the soup and it thickened it nicely when I put it in the blender. :j Tasted good with a bit of YS cheese grated on top and there are four portions in the freezer now too. Gonna put the stodgy bread in the toaster tomorrow then see if I can make eggy bread.
Have meal-planned up to Friday, when I will be away for the weekend (forgot this in my budget, but hopefully can cover it without savings). Using the slow cooker everyday for healthy meals. No point planning further ahead at this stage until I see what's left. I had a weevil infestation a few months ago which took ages to clear so my cupboards are almost bare and need gradually building up again.
Been reading lots of OS threads and will replace fabric softener with white vinegar when it runs out, also going to buy cheap washing powder and wash at 30 unless things are dirty. Not buying any cleaning products or toiletries this month.

Wow Synonymous, well done you. I would have just thrown a hump and thrown the bread. Veg soup I might have stuck on, having done it once this festive season. Have been altogether much better at making less waste by eating stuff in the order it goes off in
I have to say I only use bulk bought Pers!l small & mighty non bio as Jellys skin is very sensitive and it gets everything out on a fast wash at 30 degrees... only need a bit and it lasts me forever. Smells fab too. And it can be rubbed onto stains as a prewash, and even gets out the horrid orangey kids food stains. Have tried many a brand but this works as an amazing all in 1 with no need for softener.
Friend bought me an amazing book for xmas on the uses for bicarb/soda crystalsit is amazing what it will do!!
