Whatsapp EE Charges

If whatsapp is used correctly - ie the message is sent through whatsapp as opposed to the normal messaging app - then it will never show up as a text message, international or otherwise.
I suspect there has been a bit of user error here with the texts that are charged as International texts being sent through the normal messaging service by mistake. Perhaps the OP can clarify if the texts being charged for show up in the whatsapp app or the messaging app.0 -
In that case i believe the other user have also been charged for sending text to you, am i right ?0

Slightly different question.
Does the size of the whatsapp message need to be a certain size, for it to be considered free0 -
Presumably the person you were texting also had Whatsapp on their phone? Were you also definitely sending the text messages from within the Whatsapp app itself?
Were you using WiFi or your data package to send them? Did you have a data package with EE at the time?
Yes they did have Whatsapp and Whatsapp was being used. Wifi was certainly used 99% of the time.0 -
Are you with EE?
Or are you with Orange or T-Mobile?
Because if you're with EE then the data is capped and you shouldn't be charged for using extra?
Also, if you're being charged for international text messages then it won't be whatsapp that is the culprit. Whatsapp uses data, it's not a text.
Orange (all a bit confusing since they merged). They still appear as text messages on the bill though. Even the ones that aren't charged for appear and still are appearing but not being charged for.0 -
These aren't applicable.0 -
It has not been used whilst abroad.dealer_wins wrote: »Something is not right here. Whatsapp uses data only. If you use it whilst abroad it will either be a wifi connection, or roaming on EE incurring charges as per your tariff!0 -

How would you demonstrate what you ask for in your last sentence?0
