Mav i fear you might be a bad influence on me :p
I have noticed our spare wardrobe seems to be becoming a little full - i'd like to say that it's because of the velvet hangers (unused) I have in there - bought a pack from primarni that are pink / purple and am now worried the colour might transfer to any clothing I hang on them. Might take them back to store next time i go and swap them. I did also hang a couple of coats in there (one being my thick winter jacket) but I do think I might need a serious cull before long (again)

  • Something rather nice happened - originally I was supposed to have three items sent to me to review from China, but only two arrived. I emailed the sellers and they invited me to choose some more items from their entire range online, in addition to sending me the missing item. So I have enroute an evening cardigan, a lightweight hoodie type top and a longline waistcoat. The waistcoat is really more of a sleeveless jacket in the way it is cut, not totally sure about it, but I have absolutely nothing like it in my wardrobe and hey, it's free.
Snag: coming from China so could take weeks to arrive!

The hoodie turned out to be two sizes smaller than stated, but not as small as the clothes from the seller where a size 12 was XL (I am not joking, sadly).

The sleeveless jacket is lovely but probably won't get an outing until next summer, though I might see how it looks with some long sleeved tops underneath. Again, it ran small, but being sleeveless and made of stretchy material all is well.

    The lacy cardigan
turned up after the first two items, shows as very long on the website but isn't long at all. It is very wearable though.

I've got a couple more jackets on the way.

  • Went to town yesterday with hubby and was going to get a new bra as my favorite one is on its last legs, however resisited Ann Summers (even though there was a sale on!!) and Primark (They don't even do my size, I don't have big boobies I just have a big back lol) because I have LOADS at home that I hardly wear so saved myself at least £20 there!!

Also resisited the temptation to go into Primark and buy more shoes and clothes so quite pleased with myself :)

I had a massive clear out a little while ago so selling all my old clothes (there's ALOT) for £25 got a woman coming to collect them today so quite pleased :)

Well done on resisting Primark, its one of my downfalls - I thought I didn't spend much in there until I added up my various clothes store spends one year and apart from a visit to the States, it was about second from top on my list :o

  • Sheepishly popping in to say I bought a pair of boots... And another pair of boots  Ordered 2 pairs from Amazon to see which I liked best (one navy leather ankle boots, one charcoal suede Gabor ankle boots). Both were lovely and very comfy so will be great for work (I had got rid of my old winter boots and shoes in my last cull). They were discounted and had an extra 20% off so came in at under £85 for both pairs.

I also bought a long White stuff skirt for 4.50 and brand new White stuff cardi for £5 from cs (it would have been rude not to). So budge up Mavvy, I'm eating cake on the naughty step :rotfl:

    Thank you :)

Yeah I'm the same!! You pick up bits because they are cheap but it all adds up, just try and go in there if I need essentials now like vests, shoes for work etc and try to just look at what I need. Especially trying to resist at the moment as I LOVE minions and they seem to have a lot of minion bits in there.

The woman come to pick up the clothes which was good :) although having a sort though my clothes again at the new house and realised I'm gonna fill up a couple more bags :o

    Hi all
kerri you cant blame me for your primar* addiction as its one place I would never ever shop in :rotfl:The clothes dont suit me at all. Everything else you can blame me for though ;)

I have been buying sadly :(
A pair of Green leather Italian long boots from The Bay £21.00 Which was an amazing price they are fab and will last for ever ;)

Also knickers which are normally £22 a pair  8 pairs for £16 ;) I can get rid of any of mine which are past thier best.
A nice long jumper made by kenra £2.95
    A Fcuk T shirt which was £1.50
A Jage*r Cashmere lilac cardi (brand new) £4.95 I just couldnt leave it behind.

The boots sound lovely Rowan and sometimes you just need to spend if you need replacements.

I am now going to list some things on Eb*y as I need to get some of this money back pronto :(

I think the naughty step is only big enough for me Rowan as if you look at the difference between our spends YOU have done amazingly well (unless you havent updated yet ):rotfl:

Good luck to all with keeping your eyes shut

Mavvy I haven't updated my budget, waved goodbye to it a while ago
I did only set a budget of £150 which was probably not realistic in a year when I also did some Kondoing and gave away / Ebayed loads of stuff.

Another month with no clothing spends for me, taking me to 6 of the 9 for the year to date.

January was my trainers, July was my waterproof trousers, and August was trousers for work.

I'm expecting (even hoping) to spend on a waterproof coat this month. I've tried reproofing mine with no joy (even when using the same stuff as my OH uses), and now I'm cycling, walking or running 4 miles to work (and the same back again) I need a decent waterproof before the winter rains arrive in force.

I don't know what your budget is, but I replaced a far too heavy hardly worn Drizabone coat (that I'd always hankered after! :o ) with a lightweight Jack Murphy Malvern bush coat. Literally a quarter of the price of the Drizabone and a fraction of the weight too.
I guess you'd probably want something shorter for running , but this coat has been fantastic for walking and cycling for me.
I'd not heard of the Jack Murphy brand but I will probably go for them again for my shorter jackets - luckily my Mountain Warehouse ski jacket and Regatta summerweight jacket are ok for another year or two, at least.
