Is it too late to join?

I did my budget last week to support my goal of getting debt free by the end of 2015. OK, the figures suggest it will take me til March 2016 but I am going to push hard to get there sooner.

The budget won't allow me to spend more than £50 a month on clothes. I regularly need to spend on tights.. But here cones summer maybe so that won't be needed for a while. I used to spend thousands. Had a very bad shoe habit. And then a divorce looming. New ways now necessary!

A £50 max per month is £400 to end of year. Jumping in now... Gulp!

Have you tried Primark for tights? They have packs of 3 for £3 at the moment. I find their tights fit quite well too, I'm 5' 5" and often find I'm right on the cusp of sizes elsewhere, S are short, and I end up laddering them pulling them up, M are too big round the waist so I end up like Nora Batty. The primark ones in S fit fine, actually I had a pair there that wre almost too long...could've kept my boobs warm too :rotfl:

    Hi all :j
Great ebay tips :D I still have not gotten round to listing my mega-pile of stuff on there (sorting out the whole house and managed to misplace my camera in the process...!) but I am really hopeful I will get some good prices.

Sooooooooooo I went a bit shopping crazy yesterday but managed to get ALL my 'essentials' for summer (except couldn't find a decent pair of tailored trousers that fitted properly so think I will just give up on this. Am going to try altering an existing pair that are too big) plus a couple of nice bits and pieces for £97. I'm really hoping this will tide me over until winter!

2x dresses - can be worn for work or fun, and will be fine with bare legs for summer
1x maxi skirt - really nice navy & white striped - again can be worn for work or fun
1x crop top - bit naughty as I have loads of these but it was only £4 and I will get a lot of wear out of it
    3x tights
    3x socks
    Leggings
    5x pants
    2x bras
    Sandals
    Work shoes
    Flip flops
2x light scarves for summer (mine had all gotten really tatty so these will be fab for work etc)
And a couple of pieces of dead cheap jewellry from Primarni (set of rings, 3x bracelets and a pair of earrings for a grand total of £6)

OH was teasing me when I got home as I've told him I'm not spending on clothes LOL :o it's an absolute mountain of stuff but I've found homes for it all, and it will all see a lot of use.

I bought a brand new pair of Miss Selfridge sequinned hotpants today in the charity shop. £3.50 (RRP £25!) They are not my normal attire but I go to a 70s & 80s disco every few months so they will be added to my collection of dressing up clothes. :)
Shifting my energy for 2020 :heart::heart:

Sound fab :T I have a costume box myself for pole showcases and photoshoots. It includes a home made Columbia outfit from the Rocky Horror show. Even found a site that listed the colours / order of the ribbons on her shorts so mine are theatrically correct :D

Mavvy you inspired me to get listing on fleabay again so i am aiming to put on 4-5 pieces a night from my pile. First five went on tonight, though if they all go for just 99p I'll end up barely covering postage and seller fees

Dont start them at 99p there is no point if you are going to lose money. I always think if things are listed at 99p thats all the seller thinks they are worth ;) Better to sell 2 @ £4.99 and give the other 3 to charity :)But well done for listing and making a start :T

I have 10 items I listed yesterday 2 have bids on :) Another bin bag of clothes ready for charity shop today  I am feeling a bit in control for once :)

Have just upped the starting prices, we'll see if any sell. Fingers crossed. If they don't I can relist until the next car boot and drop any others off to the charity shop.

  • Wow, some very useful tips for fleabaying,Mavvymoo -thank you for sharing them. I haven't sold stuff for ages as I have felt the quality of what I own wasn't up to standard.

Anyway, I did pop into a much a smaller locally run Cs at the weekend- yes it looked like a jumble sale -but boy did it have some bargains !

so I came away with a summer cotton blue and aqua blue wrap dress for £2.50 and a monsoon deep blue with a deeper blue grass pattern through it silk dress for £4 and a asy£m pink t shirt for a £1.

So total stands now at £33.87/£100

Sorry laptop still playing up and won't let me alter font or colour Grrr.

Well am off to sign off and get some shut eye.

Well done for keeping the pennies in the pockets everyone:)

:) Good I am glad to hear it really no point in selling for 99p with all the work listing, wrapping, postoffice etc etc :D Good luck with them hope the bids come flooding in.

3 of mine have bids now :D 1 @9.99 start and 2@4.99 so that would be £3 if I had listed them at 99p ! Hardly any watchers or views which always makes me think they will go for round about the start price. But better than them sitiing in the wardrobe for another year :o

Well done Debbie on your fab bargains today they sound lovely and such good prices as well :T

    Have a lovely day everyone

Kerri good luck with your sales, let us know how you do.
I'm putting some things for sale on Thursday and will take Mavvy's advice.
Debbie good bargain hunting, sounds like some lovely summery clothes.

I ordered a summer handbag off Ebay, should have been here Thursday or Friday but still not arrived so I won't count it in my total yet.

We've booked a little holiday in June in Norfolk so Mavvy, don't snap up all the cs bargains :rotfl:
