:rotfl: at the boxes!! My whole ruthless attitude would have been to not even look in them and just to throw it away. If I hadn't needed it by then, it obviously wasn't very useful. I do it regularly. My mum says I am a heathen with no soul as I am so bad I will throw anything away.... no sentimentality here!

I think it boils down to no space!

Your soup also sounds lovely!! I need more garlic but then I can do it again. I've got an absolute mountain of green lentils cooked and ready to be frozen in little portioned bags, just cooling. It was an accident. I measured out what the recipe called for, but didn't realise the recipe was asking for a tinned weight, which.. in dried goods.. is a lot different!! and that is on top of the giant green lentil and veggie curry I just made from scratch. Smells amazing :) *proud*

I am sending my cards tomorrow. Dads bday too s an expensive month :(

Best shift my bum. Small needs to be collected! :) xx

:o I know it's a bit shocking with the boxes, both DH & I are terrible procrastinators and he literally won't do anything until I do it and set an example. :rotfl: He's like a large toddler sometimes. :D

I do find it difficult to throw things out as get attached to them, particularly if it has a sentimental meaning to it. :o I still have a doll that my mum bought me when I was 9 - I think she is lurking in the remaining boxes. :o

Think I'm getting a bit better though as trying to find a home and use for everything and if I can't find either then it's got to go. Still quite a clutter bug but will get there eventually. Doesn't help when DH likes to leave a trail of destruction behind him wherever he goes though.

Managed to get the cat litter cleaned out & DH hung the washing out on the line as was dry for a change.

Your curry sounds lovely Lilt, the closest I've come to making a veggie curry was Bombay potatoes. I do like veggie dishes as don't want meat with every meal, think DH would quite like that though.

Trudging my way through another 7 late shifts - only on day 3. :( Although pay day today which is good. :j

Debt total has gone up slightly due to the holiday we're taking :( but at least the spending for that is on the 0% CC and we are still just under 20k.

We're using the money from the no council tax months as our holiday spending money so will hopefully be able to start paying money off the debt properly again next month.

More soup making adventures, went for leek and potato this time as that was what DH suggested. It was nice but think I prefer the carrot/butternut squash/lentil type soups.

I do like leek and potato. It is a proper winter stodge soup :) but I eat it with mountains of bread!! Not a good idea really. Well done for keeping it up. It becomes habit, like the lentil cooking. I add them into things without thinking now. And will definitely be doing so with the ready cooked frozen bags now :D am a lentil convert. They were very tasty and meaty :) and the curry taste was fab! Boss commented that it smelled amazing :D

How horrible about the lates... I hope you are getting through them ok! Do you get overtime or is it just what it is?

I do have things I keep for sentimental value. A napkin with writing on from Him. And a cable tie he bent into the shape of the word love. A piece of the border from Jellytots nursery when it was first decorated. And her teeny tiny first set of clothes. But I am rather ruthless with a lot of things! :)

I've got a giant toddler OH who causes a trail of destruction too. You have my sympathy. :) xx

Hi Lilt, yes trying to get into the habit of cooking more from scratch again as it does save a lot of money and generally tastes so much better. Have yet to attempt lentils in anything except soup but will get there eventually.:o

Late shifts dragging in a bit, unfortunately no extra money as not a night shift. :( I do get a five day weekend every 3 weeks which is great but trying to balance actually seeing DH (he works different shifts to me) and doing overtime to pay for our holiday and debt can be difficult.

I think everyone has sentimental things they keep but it's better to be ruthless than drowning in clutter. I think I'm getting there. :)

:rotfl: giant toddler OH, yes that imagery works. He's generally quite good but has some sort of mind blank when it comes to putting things away! Also likes to leave trails of crumbs all over the kitchen. I shout "I'm not your mother!" at least 4 times a week. :o

Need to try and do a bit of housework today before leaving for work but could happily go back to bed to be honest.

Still here instead of doing housework

Forgot to mention, up to £5.30 on OP and over half way to £50 on YouG0v. The money from the survey companies that pay out in cash will go towards paying off the debt.

Trying to save Amaz0n vouchers from the other survey companies for a new steam cleaner for my kitchen floor. The last one went kaput after being used barely a dozen times, so want to get a decent one this time.

Have had a successful day off in that I finally went and got my hair cut (much tidier now, was going all thick & bushy) and had a visit to the chiropractor to re-align my back.

Then went round to my mum's for tea which was a very nice SW recipe. DH also appeared at the prospect of free food. :rotfl:

Ordered an online shop to be delivered tomorrow evening as had £10 off a £60 shop. :T Spent £65 which isn't too bad.

Hoping to have a go at broccoli & Stilton soup tomorrow but may be Friday after work depending on time.

Going out for lunch with DH tomorrow (It!son voucher) and picking up the new high-waisted slim (not bl**dy skinny!!) jeans that I had to order online as couldn't see them anywhere in the actual shop - it was a veritable sea of skinny jeans. I think I actually have a pathological hatred of skinny jeans these days. :rotfl: I'm secretly upset that I can't wear them due to chubby calves. :o

The broccoli & Stilton soup was very yummy, will make that again.

Had a nice lunch out and collected my new high waisted slim leg jeans which fit well when I tried them on. :j

Cleaned & tided the kitchen today after work and did the hoovering. Also managed to wash the cat blankets and hang them out on the line to dry too.

Not much else to report except that I'm very tired and really wish I didn't have another 6 days of work to go before my days off. :(

    Hey you

I caved and bought the next size up from the size I accidentally am due to overeating in the skinny jeans. :rotfl: they are more jeggings actually, but regardless they don't squeeze the life out of me or require a crane to hoist on. :) mine are high was it too. Thank god no builders bum!!!

You've been a busy bee around work. Wish I could magic you some days off! :(

    Hugs!! xx

Hi all, have been MIA again due to work exhaustion. Lots of drama at work and everybody moaning, doing my head in!

Off for my long weekend now though so I can forget about it for now.

Made more butternut squash soup yesterday and it was less spicy this time - used chicken stock and only 1 chilli. Was still tasty and made a nice dinner. :)

Today DH is away out so after I dropped him off I had the exciting job of ironing 8 white shirts and hanging them out to dry. Always iron them wet as they are a horrible fabric to iron dry (uniform shirts yuck). Have some towels out on the line as well, nice and windy so should mostly dry and then I can stick them in the TD to finish off if needed.

Up to £7 on OP and over halfway on Y0uG0v. Also cashed out £40 from Gl0baltestmarket. :j So that can go straight off the CC with the 0% ending in August.

Have also ordered a £10 voucher from VO and think I have enough points from My V0ice for my £20 voucher there too. :) Just need to decide what vouchers I would like and can use them towards things we would like rather than need. :T

Just going to relax for the rest of the day now as did most of the housework after finishing work yesterday.
