Hello :hello: DFOD I really need to go through everything and only keep what I really like but find it difficult to get rid of anything, "just in case". :o

Lilt, yes it's hard work when we don't see each other due to shifts but at least we have the same rest days now. When DH was training we had different rest days so never had days off together unless one of us was on leave and were working opposite shifts some weeks so hardly saw each other for a year! :(

Have had a busy few days, had a nice day off with DH yesterday as it was his birthday. We went to a Japanese restaurant for an early dinner which was yum and then to a gin bar where we stayed for the rest of the night and spent a small fortune. We're grounded for the rest of the month after tomorrow. :rotfl:

I made a birthday cake for DH and it was a bit...rubbish. It didn't rise as much as it should have (2 tins and meant to cut the cakes in half to get 4 layers) and was a bit lopsided. :o I still managed to cut the sponge to get layers but it wasn't the best looking cake, tastes ok though. :o It's a coffee cake with coffee buttercream. :D

Bless him DH was very grateful despite it being such a sorry specimen, although he later said if the Great British Bake Off was still on he would have taken a picture of it and sent it to Jo Brand on the after show as it was a bit of a disaster. :rotfl:

Have spent today cleaning the house, the kitchen was a disgrace. Also did the bathrooms and have done a couple of washings. Cleaned the Dyson as it was disgusting and since DH does the hoovering I hadn't realised how yucky it was looking.

So that was an exciting day, topped off by dropping DH off to get the train so he can have dinner out with his pal. I'm sitting in the house eating random leftovers to make some space in the freezer. I'm knackered though and looking forward to a hot bath in a bit and a decent sleep.

Forgot to mention, I'm 5p away from pay out on OP! 5p and not a blinking survey in sight!!

Have re-jigged some categories in YNAB as we are now setting up a monthly payment to a savings account (the 6% M&S one) as an emergency fund. It will only be £50 p/m but better than nothing. We are also going to save some money every month for cat costs - vets/boosters etc and have added another category for saving towards bigger house items i.e. we need stuff for the garden, so will look at what we would like and then work out how long it will take to save for it.

Going to try and pay anything extra from surveys etc off the higher interest loan. I'm paying £1 a day off the credit card atm but it's on 0% and I already know the monthly payment I'm making will clear it before the 0% ends in August, so I think I might be better paying that £1 per day off the loan. I don't know, have budgeted the £1 per day off the CC as well as £25 overpayment to both loans.

Still not at payout on OP, argh I only need 5p!

DH and I had an overnight stay in a lovely hotel in St Andrews last night. My brother had a voucher which he very kindly gifted to us as he wasn't going to be able to use it. Breakfast was included but not dinner so that was an extra spend but the food was very tasty.

We had a nice night and was nice to have a wee change of scenery but we really are grounded now as payday is still a week away. :o

Went home via Ald! today and got lots of veg and stuff for dinners. We still need to get back into cooking more but can be difficult on shifts.

Got home and cleaned out the fridge (again a disgrace :o) as didn't do it when I cleaned the rest of the kitchen on Tuesday.

Back to work again tomorrow, days off have flown by. :(

Hi DFOD & Lilt, yes it was lovely of my brother to give us the voucher, we offered to pay him for it but he said to take it as a birthday gift for DH. :A

The hotel had its own golf course and a lovely sea view, both the day we arrived and the next day were sunny and cold so nice weather to look at the view. :)

Work was ok today, came home and did some Yogalates but found it quite hard going so maybe should have started back with something a bit gentler. :o Still feel so tired from the horrible bug I had. :(

DH on late shifts so just me and the cats tonight, will have dinner soon.

Thanks Lilt, yes had a nice relaxed evening.

Yesterday I got home from work and did all my ironing and then went out for an early dinner with some friends I went to school with. Only see them every few months so was good to catch up and only spent £20 in all.

DH and I were a bit naughty and booked a week's holiday for end of May/start of June. Just feeling the need to get a wee break away and get some sunshine. We will save towards it starting this month and can save the council tax money from this month and next as well. It does mean less going off the debt but we are both knackered and will be our first holiday since the honeymoon in 2013. Looking forward to it. :j

Finally got to £40 payout on OP!:j Think I will still pay this off the higher interest loan as an extra payment rather than putting it towards the holiday though.

Didn't get a lot of sleep last night so feeling rough today, had an hour's nap when I got home from work. DH made a lovely dinner with chicken breast we had in the freezer and he made roast potatoes and yorkies as well. :T

Will try for an early night and hope I can fall asleep.
