Who's signing up for a "Dry January"?

No alcohol for me or OH and it hasn't been without temptation. Well done to everyone else sticking with it and for those of you who have fallen off but got back on the wagon :T0

Is it really only the 18th?? Siiiiigh....
Still on the wagon but the wagon is taking its sweet time to get anywhere!
I've always liked the alcoholic version of Erdinger but the AF one is pretty good. Shame most pubs only offer Becks Blue.Dry January: 31/31 days. :T0 -
I'm still here! Still on the wagon (apart from my slip up).0

I could sign up for a "Dry Year"...
Probably no more than 20 beers in 2014 for me.0 -
I was wanting a day january, but due to a colleague being sick I was sent to amsterdam last week for 5 days of 8 hour meetings followed by entertaining clients all evening.
Hence my dry january turned very wet, the wine lists at the restaurants were far too good to be dry. Especially the two tasting menus I worked myself through which had a glass of wine with each of the 9 courses.0 -
Hands Up - I confess I have fallen off the wagon. Starting with half a bottle of red on Thursday night, a bottle of rose on Friday and a bottle of white and the remaining red last night. Feel crap today (not hungover just disappointed with myself) - BUT - it has somehow got the whole feeling of deprivation out of my system and to be honest the whole "dry January" effect has made me reevaluate my drinking - which is purely habit (granted some enjoyment involved) but definately no dependance.
Back on the wagon today and confident of remaining there until the 31st when I am out with the girls (a rare treat). Well done everyone hanging in there !0 -
My husband bought a bottle of non alcoholic Californian red wine in Waitrose this weekend. - (we are both doing dry January) in the hope that it might brighten up our meals. it cost around £3 but to be honest it was vile and tasted like stale Ribena. You couldn,t even use it up in cooking and it will be going down the sink. I will stick to chilled sparkling mineral water in future.
If anybody else was thinking of trying it, my advice is "Don't bother"0 -
I cant see the point in alcohol free beer and wine.
Have never tried them and imagine none will give the same flavour as the real thing.
Getting quite used to lime and soda water even in the olde worlde pub we had lunch in yesterday.
OH says can I carry on forever as it makes it a cheap round. Hes got no hope.
:rotfl:Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600 -

Another thumbs up here for 'Becks Blue' - it really does taste like you are drinking even though you are not. I only drink it if we are out or have friends/family around. Still on the dry January wagon!0
