I had a credit note for £89, and it has been either lost or stolen. I still have the trail of receipts tracing back to the original return which were all on gift receipts, and therefore are presumably linked to the original spend.
This means it is clear that I am not some unscrupulous individual who has stolen goods. All I want them to do is to cancel the original (assuming it hasn't been found and spent already) and replace it. I am certain they are able to do this, as they must have an audit trail.
They are not interested - I have spoken to the store, CS by phone and a manager. Each person is adamant that the t and Cs state it is treated as cash - except if I had lost cash it wouldn't be benefitting them. I now have the details for the chief executive and am going try him too. However I don't hold out much hope - Marks and Spencer is not the brand it used to be.0 -

Just an update on my situation,I wrote two letters, one to Mr Bolland and the other to customer services in Chester.
I received two E Vouchers totalling £30 which i have given to my son,i have not and will never enter their shops again.
The situation as left a very nasty taste and my Wallet £20 lighter.I did suggest they have better quality Credit notes, but no response.0 -
Is anyone else wondering how the "ink" "rubbed off" when m&s exclusively use thermal printers and have done for years?
There isn't any "ink" TO "rub off". Indeed, the only way to add " ink" to a thermally printed receipt is either to write on it with a pen or similar, or to subject it to a fair amount of heat/friction.
I do wonder quite what the OP has been doing with their hands whilst said wallet was in their pocket... Ahem.0
