If you get fat balls, please take them out of the green nets and put them in a special feeder - I once had to cut a little bluetit free as it got its claw caught in the net.

And the photo for my avatar was taken before this incident.

Especially when I discovered some wriggly things in the porch which needed immediate attention. Is it MSE that I put the wrigglers on the bird table?

Absolutely. Although as a gardener I hate slugs & snails, I also can't kill anything so I put them on the bird table and let them take their chances...........

I use sunflower hearts in a seed feeder and it is used by sparrows, great tits, blue tits, coal tits, nuthatches and the occasional long tailed tit and female blackcap. One of the robins has learnt to use it too. Oh and the odd green finch.

I had a niger seed feeder for Christmas, not been visited to my knowledge yet.

I toss suet on the floor when it is really cold.

I feed the big birds, jackdoors, crows, gulls, magpies etc kitchen scraps often soaked in kitchen fat.

I do have a peanut feeder (hidden deep in the holly bush so the squirrel doesn't see it) it does get used but I can't see who by.

I have a plastic feeder for fat balls but last year the squirrel found it and chewed it to bits. I do have a new one for this year which I will try again tomorrow and a lovely basket of bird goodies from a friend.

Bird feeders, there's lots of reduced feeders in lidl and aldi ATM. Also lots of food. I bought a little painted house feeder and a few lantern shaped feeders although the only birds so far are big fat pigeon s. I'm sure the little ones will be along in time.

    Morning everyone.

Thank you for the info on feeding the birds. I live in a terrace of houses and a row opposite. The path inbetween gets a lot of people walking up and down to the shops. There are quite a few trees and bushes around. The robin has been back a few times. I also see birds treating the path like a bombing run. Low and fast up and down. Will get some more stuff tomorrow.

Back at my voluntary job today so it will be just a quick swish around.

    Welcome to returners and newbies.

    Morning all

I didn't finish my BR last night so I need to work on that again today. I think I tried to do too much on my first day of feeling a bit better. I've started getting pains in the back of my head when I cough or blow my nose so that isn't helping. Anyway I must finish my BR today or there would have been no point spending yesterday on it as it's sort of at the point where it looks worse than when I started.

Also I have some dresses that I bought earlier in the year which I should have sent back and didn't. I then thought that I'd put them on eBay but I haven't as yet and I don't know whether to just put them in the cs bag and get them out of the way as I've got enough clutter as it is.

Anyway, have a good day all

Morning all. I laid in bed a full hour longer than I intended, so having just eaten breakfast, I've just time now to change bedding, get dressed and walk the dogs before the paid stuff. But the paid stuff isn't busy so will take a peek at today's list later. Also need to do a shopping list for DH for NY day dinner. Oh, and sort the birds out, seeing all your posts above.

    Have a great day everyone.
Spend less now, work less later.

I used to do this. I always had a bag of clothes somewhere that I was going to put on ebay but I have gone off the idea of ebaying nowadays, unless its something really special. You spend ages putting things on ebay, make about £1 and then get someone nitpicking about what they have bought.

I would just get rid - put them in the cs bag - let someone else get the benefit of them.

Work this morning - so I need to get ready soon. DS1 sorted out his bedroom cupboard yesterday so more stuff to go the charity shop/recycling. He seems to have dumped some things on the landing that he doesnt want too.

My challenge for today is to rehome the presents left under the tree.
