hello (finally) and thanks for the lists.

yesterday was a failure as DD wanted to go to Meadowhell after the gas man had been. But gift vouchers (hers) have been spent in the Next sale (on me) and she will get the cash - she doesn't shop at next. I went to Lakeland and bought Blitz That Mould for the tiles in the bathroom and a retro tin (in the sale) featuring Cadbury bars I remember from my childhood including the dreaded bulker-up of the selection box, the Bar Six (yuk - I used to eat them though; when everything else had been scoffed :rotfl:) It's intended as a gift.

DD has gone to her dad's.

This morning, however, I have 'bottomed' the dining room (a pit) though I have not quite finished, but it has included cleaning light fitting and washing shades and the hallway - I have (as Toots was wont to have on her list) 'done a Valli on the inside of the PC) and we are now enjoying silent running (again). I have also cleaned under and around desk, COMPLETELY emptied bookcase (in 'office') and dusted it *shudder* and managed to fling some stuff I was clinging onto like a security blanket 'just in case' but which I haven't looked at for ages...

I have also ironed a maidenful which is now airing and have little left to iron. Bathroom cat litter tray (intended for the young cat but caught the old cat on it yesterday grrr) washed out.

While the force is with me I shall 'do' my bedroom...and the bathroom...mind you I am probably cleaning as a form of procrastination...;)
It's bin day tomorrow and I still have room....muhahahahahaha

I think I shall refer to myself as a beachcomber from now on then. I wonder how long it will be before someone points out I'm about as far away from the sea as it's possible to be? :rotfl:

Wash PE kits and uniform now to avoid a last minute rush. it appears that the pe kit didn't come home from school......bleughh!
I sent home PE bags for 3 different classes - and chased after the Y6 boy who had dumped his in the corridor because the bag 'was broken' - and was tartly told by me to find a new bag, then - it was a sports shop carrier with a string!

No-o-o - we CAN read them (if we choose to!) or skip them :cool:

Anyhoo thread now read, coffee finished and I SHALL have a clean dining room (and how satisfying it is to see the dust and detritis that the VAX picks up - makes me feel simultaneously virtuous (for cleaning) and skanky (for managing to house so much dust):rotfl:

Hello. Paid stuff is steady but not manic so I have now completed everything applicable from the two lists. I have my own room now for hobbies and things so have been having a bit of a sort out and making it look prettyish. Large sack of stuff gone to charity today and a carrier bag of past their best undies is now in the dustbin.

Plan next is to walk the dogs, prep tonight's dinner and maybe do some sewing. I am contemplating making new cushion covers with some fabric I have rather than buying new ones.....

    Howdy

Kiddies went off to inlaws at 12ish so I've been to. Mr A and got some essentials. Not much, as I have a Mr M delivery on Friday, with stuff for the tea party on Sunday. Think I have everything for the golf cake I'll be making...

Have done an hours paid stuff and spent half an hour chasing down a mobile tarrif change  still not sorted. Pigpen ours is actually a British based call centre but it was still like I was talking a different language. They just didn't get it. Sigh.

So I've switched off, washed up, sorted the bins (I had a little room left) and had a quick tidy. Now I'm going to paint my nails then have a shower before heading out to meet friends for dinner.

Looking forward to a peaceful sleep. Would we like to run a book on what ridiculous time my body clock will wake me in the absence of either children or alarm clock? Would love to wake at 9 or beyond...

jazee, I'm v jealous of your room - I have much more space for crafting than most people, I know, but a whole hobbies room to myself sounds like bliss. There's nothing like a bit of stash busting to warm the cockles too, you'll love those cushions far more made from stash than if you go out to buy more fabric :T

thanks for all the bird feeder advice - it was a bit chilly to go out to investigate today, I wimped out, but I will certainly do at some point this week :)

done a good bit today, but not nearly as much as hoped - had a friend +3 kids round this afternoon so playroom has been trashed and I haven't dared been upstairs yet or into the Lego Room (formerly known as the loft) Had a hoover round downstairs and have done a couple of loads of washing - ironing is on my list for later/now.... Also been to @sda and the butchers and stocked up for the week - they didn't have much organic milk - they never do :( - so I'll have to pop in again tomorrow or to sainsbos. Tea's made though - bolognese with lovely juicy mince from the butchers. I don't know why I bother with supermarket meat - its so awful most of the time :(

Just to echo and applaud HoneyBear :T:T:T:T iI the last 3 months of me resurrecting flyladying I feel much happier, settled and calmer in life, I'm finally getting round to the 2 years of sorting, decluttering and cleaning that have been postponed while dd2 was tiny and I have been up to my ears in more children than I can cope with, a job I hated that exhausted and depressed me (I moved jobs in June :j) and a bloomin' mess at home.

    my habits for next year:
    1) meal planning
    2) putting clean washing away in drawers
    3) bulk cooking/freezer stashing

Like a pp, I'm also nearly at the point of being able to start a toots list - rather than just AAAAAAAAAAARGH ALL THE THINGS NEED DOING!!!

I've been to work today and got food shopping. Took a boy with me to help carry stuff.

This thread is so helpful, giving me a list of things I could do, even if I don't do all of them. Before I just used to think arrrgggh it all needs doing and end up doing nothing.

    Cloakroom Done!
    Bathroom Done Sunday!
Livingroom and hall Just a vacuum around the presents, and sofa cushions swapped side to side and turned over. Impossible to do anything else until all presents relocated.

This morning I did a quick dash to shop for the things I inexplicably forgot yesterday, and also made another (final) batch of Turkey and vegetable soup.

Went to cinema with DS1 and 2 and DD to see Paddington, which we all loved. This is a very rare treat for me, hardly ever go to the cinema, and DS1 has bought me a year's membership to our new Curzon. Very lovely cinema, most impressed.

Honeybear Totally agree with you. I would live in a complete hovel without Flylady. I want to concentrate on clearing more of the stuff that is filling up all the cupboards and shelves.

YorkshireLass I don't like to break this to you, but it is a well known fact that pigpen has always been able to see into our homes. :D When she did the lists it was uncanny how she picked the very job that was left undone....
