I too had a melt down today :o. DD asked why I am so horrible and I said it's because I am fed up of saying the same thing 50 times per day. I have told them to do their bedrooms but neither have done enough that I can cross anything off the list.
I have spent a good while in my room. Got DH to empty a high cupboard I can't reach but he did the wrong one so I have actually rearranged BOTH of my cupboards! I have another bag of items for charity although I have just remembered there's a duvet set to go in too.
My New Years resolution is to lose weight and get fit. This has never been my resolution before but this year I have put lots of weight on and my clothes are getting too small. I also resolve to complete all fly lady tasks each week  but not by myself.

Wrt: the bath, I read that car wax is brilliant at refinishing an enamel bath.

Happy new year lovely fly ladies :)
    Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.
    MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.
    2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.

    Evening all :)

NYE again tomorrow, where does time fly I wonder !
Feeling a lot less ‘flu ridden today, although sleep patterns are a little shot, hence energy levels are low. I manage about 20 mins worth of scurrying around, then about 2hrs to recover! However, feeling motivated to keep on trucking, also involving DH and DD in tidying up some of their stuff as well.

    Monday's madness
[STRIKE]Fold washing, sort into "non ironing" and "ironing"
Enter receipts in MS Money, ready to work out what money I need to find![/STRIKE]
Menu plan for the week (need to utilise those leftovers!)

    Tuesday’s topsy turvy day
    [STRIKE]Strip main bed
    Strip spare bed
    Empty upstairs bins
    Shred "confidential waste"[/STRIKE]
    File receipts
Menu plan (not up to a full week currently, so we'll do it on a day-by-day basis, anything has to be better than keep resorting to the takeout!) ….. tonight is turkey and gammon curry .. anyone mention leftovers ?!
    [STRIKE]Pay tax bills[/STRIKE]
    Make main bed
    Make spare bed
Clear hotspot which is on my bedside cabinet
    Check state of DD's trainers
Get DD to pack her P.E. kit
    [STRIKE]Wash bathroom bin out (yuk)
    Ironing sent to be ironed[/STRIKE]

    Extras (for myself)
    Find gym kit
Decide upon knitting projects for January, bag them separately.
Remove gel nail varnish and manicure, ready to put polish on again tomorrow (just ordered some on offer from Boots which will be in store tomorrow :) ).
    GC - March 2024 -
  • Have my mum stepdad and grandma coming from Devon tomorrow and I can't wait to see them. Sad though as first time I've seen them since grandad died and they are burying his ashes on Friday when they get home :(.

    So tomorrow....
    Hoover and mop downstairs
    Clean both loos
    Change both boys beds
Pull out sofa bed to hoover it and put on bottom sheet.
    Mop bathroom
Go to shop with a list and clothes to return
Put away monthy nappy and wipes delivery when it comes
    Plus dailies
Have a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T

Visited my friend this afternoon and decluttered phonecalls this evening while WMx1 was twirling. Now about to go and empty the ironing basket :D

Why are the birds boycotting our feeders? DH refilled them today but I haven't seen even a blue tit.

Juliejim please take proper care of yourself - this cold is not to be taken lightly.
Honey Bear, I too love your long posts and would be devastated if you curtailed them.
Pigpen, hope you've had a safe journey home.

Still thinking about my new year's resolution....

I'm going to clean my oven because I've just seen a post on Facebook which tells you how to do it properly. And I really want to prove it wrong so I can justify spending a LOT more money on oven pride :o. It'll be nice if I can clean the sides of the oven like this though!
Ironing all done, just off to check DD has everything hung in her wardrobe. She has also brought me down something sellable!

    Mr Narc0 is home :j:T

Weak, having lost well over a stone, but so happy to be back.
A nutritionist came to see him this morning and we have a booklet of what he can and can't eat for the next few weeks. Almost everything they have given him in hospital for the past week is on the AVOID list - I am fuming. She also said that he should have been on the total intravenous feed for more than the 2 days they gave him.

But I've cooked him a good meal and we're snuggled up on the sofa watching TV, eating chocolates which are big on his list. If I eat everything on his list, I'll be the size of a house.

thank you all for your support and encouragement in the last 3 weeks (to the day). x x

Narc0 - fantastic news; so pleased that you can celebrate a new year together xx

I have achieved a few things from my list today. I have also been to the cinema to see The Imitation Game - brilliant!

Tomorrow I am going to blitz my bedroom, turn the mattress and remake the bed to start the new year with one completely sorted room - I made need to start now!! :o:rotfl:

    my habits for next year:
    1) meal planning
    2) putting clean washing away in drawers
    3) bulk cooking/freezer stashing

mamaninie - I'd like to join you in those habits, if that's ok. I use to do a lot of bulk cooking / freezing and my eating habits were MUCH better when I did. I'm rejoining SW next week too so that and the meal planning will really help. I'm terrible for not putting washing away - I think it's cos my bathroom is downstairs at the back of the house and my bedroom is at the front upstairs. Keeping the clean clothes downstairs is easier :o However, if I make an effort to put things away, this place will look better and I may wear more of my clothes!!
