Hello all, I did all this earlier but the lap top froze and lost the internet connection so I'm just ticking off what I've done.

Monday - children's rooms, spare rooms or any bedroom
    Only got 15 minutes...
[STRIKE]Tidy up and find a home for all those things sitting about
    [/STRIKE][STRIKE]Hoover[/STRIKE]
    30 minutes to spare....
Change a bed or two - Only one bed, done on Fridays.
[STRIKE]Sort through socks, underwear and tshirts and get rid of any which are too small or too tatty
[/STRIKE] This is done as I go along, I save odd socks until its friend turns up.
    Got an hour....
[STRIKE]Pull everything out from under the bed an hoover under there
[/STRIKE]I got OH onto this job a couple of weeks ago.
    [STRIKE]Wipe the window ledges
    [/STRIKE]Shine a mirror or window
    Extras
HHI - especially if you are on the ironing challenge
Meal plan for the week N/A
[STRIKE]Wash PE kits and uniform now to avoid a last minute rush[/STRIKE] I ironed mine and OH's work clothes last night.

Just checking my list. Might aim for a full house this week since it's an "easy" one :p

I haven't done all of that today, nor is all of it in the same room. But I don't care! And even though I didn't do a hhi, I did have the iron out earlier when making a cloak for Elsa ;)

Seeming as though almost completed todays list, I feel as though I've had a relaxing day.

Watched a film, done ironing, now watching another with DH, DS1 & DS2 before bed, happy days :)

  • If it is possible to write with gritted teeth then I am doing it:-

DD2 and partner sent an e-mail to the solicitor today (1st day the office has been open since last Monday).

They received a very quick reply. They were very impressed, until they read the e-mail, which stated that their solicitor would be back in the office in December 2015...... and if their query was an urgent one to contact another partner......

In the 2 months since they had their offer accepted they have had 2 solicitors in the same firm. The first never answered her e-mails, we suspect the second has just gone on maternity leave, with no warning to DD2 and partner.

    Yorkietowers is seething....

cyclingyorkie every firm of Solicitors has to have a nominated complaints person - their name will be on the paperwork DD has been given. Perhaps it's time for a formal moan.

Flying here has been steady although not quite to plan. Especially when I discovered some wriggly things in the porch which needed immediate attention. Is it MSE that I put the wrigglers on the bird table?

Other flying was more mundane. I had two appointments with the ironing mountain but realistically this will be reduced but not complete by New Year's Eve.

I fancy making some soup tomorrow but I have some out and about jobs to do so I'll have to see how things go.

I'm looking for an organiser/calendar app for my phone. I don't like what is pre-set and I'm used to a Palm PDA. Any suggestions here?

Not got much done this evening. I have cleaned up kitten wee - they have stopped using the litter tray and I don't know why and it is driving me mad.

Off to bed soon. I'll just do the list.

Thank you for that information. I shall pass it on to DD2 and her o/h.

I don't think blackbirds 'do' mesh trays, but if they do please could someone tell me.

If they can get on it before the starlings, they are happy to eat on the mesh tray.

Wondering if bird feeding Flyladies can tell me the best things to put in the feeders this time of year. Thanks.

If you don't know, I'd get a selection of small amounts and see what they go for. My garden is in the country, we have some trees but it isn't woodland. I get mainly blue tits, coal tits, great tits, lots of gold finch, some green finch, sparrows, starlings, blackbirds and robins - those are the most common although I do get other birds.

They all love sunflower hearts; they aren't cheap but far less messy than sunflower seeds when they leave husks scattered all over the place. Anything fatty is good in the cold weather. If you get fat balls, please take them out of the green nets and put them in a special feeder - I once had to cut a little bluetit free as it got its claw caught in the net. Mealworms are expensive but especially loved by robins. My birds don't seem to like the ready mixed seeds you can get in packs, but in my mum's garden they eat it. Nuts are popular - again, I find it worth paying extra to get shelled nuts rather than the monkey nuts when they drop shells everywhere.

Lots of kitchen scraps, old fruit too - lots of birds like apples etc. My SIL makes up bird cakes, mixing up seeds, raisins etc in fat drained from her roast dinner, she puts it in cake cases.

Try a variety and see what birds turn up!

My lovely next door neighbour of some 30 years has been feeding them for as long as I can remember but sadly her health has taken a sudden downturn and at 88 she has decided the time has come to move full time into residential care.Looking out at the frost this morning it suddenly dawned on me that I should take over her role as the bird lady as we do get a huge variety of birds in the garden.

That will be lovely for the birds as well as for you, as they do tend to return to where the food is, as Honeybear said. I do put niger seeds out as well, but my goldfinches (record is 12 at one feeder) go to the sunflower hearts first.
