Grey and rainy here, and I am struggling for motivation, and also starting to stress about work in Monday. I'd really benefit from a walk and some fresh air - if it stops raining!

However, I have taken down the cards (and written down the senders) and removed about half the presents from the livingroom, just need DD and Ds1 to take theirs out. One load of laundry done and drying, and work shirts ironed.

I think I'll get the hall and stairs cleared next, then hopefully Ds1 will be ok to get the storage boxes for the decorations down from the loft, and I can finish the livingroom.

Oh well you've beaten me; mine's only in sorted piles at the mo. Well done.

I think you've had more important things be getting on with though  wish I could do some of it for you :)

got up early and decluttered a bit more of the admin cupboard - 1 more carrier bag to the bin :D

done the shop too - lidl - butchers - asda. Its properly worn me out!

We've just come back from attempting to take the kids swimming only to discover they're still on holiday  so that was a wasted trip. However on our saunter back to the car I did discover a wool shop that I didn't know was there - and was persuaded by dd to buy her a ball of snowflake yarn to knit a scarf which she is currently shouting and cursing over :rotfl::rotfl:

Done a nappy wash, dh has taken the decs down so I haven't been able to sort through them, but never mind. Just going to cut up some cards for tags/crafts and recycle the rest. Then do some dinner, hoover up the tree bits, put away some washing, put some more in the machine, then thats me done for the day:rotfl:

Ionafan - I hope the ward staff are aware that your friends son is blocking his mum from having carers - as its really not his decision to make :( I'm sorry she's still so poorly, I know these family dynamics are complex and a total minefield to get involved with :( xxx

Decisins decisions. Been invited to an epiphany party monday and tempted to take gifts of gold (rather nice calendar from chinese in gold cover - we have 2), frankincense and myrrh but we have no incense in the house (nor indeed anything myrrh-like). So do i trot down to the chemist for inspiration? Or do i enjoy my 3rd nsd of the year?
On the flylady front have swept kitchen floor, sorted a cupboard, emptied all the bins and changed the cat litter.

DundeeDoll having just got back from the shops, enjoy your day without them.

The next lot of shoes do not fit. This is turning into an epic nightmare, DS3 is now in a strop.

I need to prepare food for friends coming but the gingers are asleep on my lap purring their hearts out (don't think they get loads of attention when I pop out and being hand reared they need human interaction).

Just made the soup and I wish I had blended it afterwards and not listened to the recipe as it is now bubbling and splashing everywhere!!

We were talking to some friends at the new year and the bloke was saying his wife gives him a list of jobs when he is not at work. Hubby said that's why he doesn't do any jobs, because he'd doesn't have a written list!! Men! So I thought I would try it.
    4 things of the list
    - unload dw
    - unload wm
    - Put everything away in the fridg
    - put decs back in the loft.

Ok so they wouldn't gave taken me long to do but it's the principle. I am not everyone else's skivvy and he is a grown man! I don't mind doing it all when I am off work. (2 days off a week) but at weekends and holidays....
Anyway, there was no mention f the list and an hour later two f the jobs have been done. We are going out in 45 mins so I am hoping at least one more might try done and the decs might gave to wait until tomorrow! Do I need to give him a pat on the back and say well done?!?

    Hi all

I am seriously lacking in motivation here. I have done some washing and ironing, taken down the decs and put them away and managed to cram the rest of the presents into various cupboards.

I dont want to go back to my normal routine, dont want to go back to work on Monday and feel a bit flat.

OH has said to me today that we should go away for my birthday in February, yeah right and how are we paying for that then?? Its a nice idea but I think OH needs a reality check about our finances.

Sorry, I am going to make you all miserable - I am off to get the duster out and tackle the living room.

    So, I have
    hoovered through the hall,
decluttering en route into a charity bag and a bin-bag
    Took down some dry laundry
    Packed Xmas decs into boxes
    Swept kitchen

Everywhere badly needs dusted and I have to find some packing tape to seal up these boxes...!

    Aaaaargggghhhh

Dear Hubby left a bag of meat out of the freezer so meal plan this week is now evolving round this and the piece of gammon and beef that were already in the fridge.

    2 Pork Loins
    4 Pork Medallions
    Packet of streaky bacon
    1.5 kg gammon
    1.5 kg beef

The gammon, beef and pork loin are all in the oven on slow cook.

I have stuffed the pork loins just with some paxo sage and onion and then wrapped in the streaky bacon, held together with skewers.

Pork medallions will be sliced up for pork fajitas on Monday and a stir fry on Tuesday if enough left, otherwise ham, egg and chips.

There was also another two giant pieces of pork but as they were not soft at all have taken my chances and put them back in the freezer.

We will not be having pork at all the week after.

Decs are not coming down today as DH seems to have the same thing as me so we are just chilling and watching catch up TV.

I must be better for tomorrow as going to see my niece who we did not get to see over Christmas as planned.

    Have a good evening all.

I did spend some money this morning but I was very pleased. I had a recipe to try and the only thing I needed to buy was a cauliflower. Yesterday when I bought the newspaper I noticed a cauliflower reduced to 49p but I didn't have enough money on me. When I went over this morning it was reduced to 20p and I had the money so I was very happy with that. And I've made the meal and it was pretty good and there's enough left for tomorrow too.

Earlier I was cold but instead of putting the heating on I got a cloth and some stardrops and cleaned the skirting boards in the kitchen and hall/stairs. That warmed me up. Now it's finally stopped raining I've been out for my walk too. Very chilly and puddly and the underpass was flooded so I had to cross the grass verge and the road. Apparently my shoes aren't waterproof......

Never mind. My socks will soon dry;)

We've been very good this Christmas about enjoying the treats gradually instead of pigging out and we haven't even started on the Christmas cake yet and we're not going to until we've finished the shortbread, which at 1 each per day will be in about 3 days time. I really think I've enjoyed things more this way and I don't feel guilty afterwards.
