Two more towns visited. We do have a pair of shoes but I am not 100% about the quality/comfort of them. To be worn indoors for a few days I think.
Need to wash up and make a start on dinner now, another lack of flying day.
Well done Bossy, I've never blanched and frozen pots, how long did you blanch for and how long will they need to cook for when you take them out?The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Healing vibes for Mischief.
If you've been feeding Ronnie last thing at night Lamewolf the chances are he's stuffed full and doesn't need any more grub. Mrs Dog occasionally has a few days of eating everything I put in front of her, up to two tins a day, and then she'll go two or three weeks of picking at her food like a supermodel. I've stopped worrying about it for the moment.
I went to the Chinese supermarket to get a sack of bicarb as I'm out of it and to begin with the young lady told me they didn't have any. No matter what I ask for in there, if it's one of the women who serves me they never have what I want - the older man who I think owns it gets it every time. So I left, and seconds later she ran down the road saying she'd found it, and then sold me three! I think it's a language thing. I need to find out what the Chinese word is for the stuff I want, as I often find what I'm looking for having been told they don't stock it - vinegar, whatever.
I've finished $ydoning the whole house including OH's office *yearch* dusted various places *boring* sorted, tidied, and been to the market, library and Sainsbobs. Three hours Flying is enough for one day, although probably only half as much as the house needs.Better is good enough.0 -
Bossy moo- thanks for the inspiration. I had some carrots and parsnips left ver from yesterday's dinner, so have just googled a recipe and will make some soup out of them later!Grocery challenge-

froddington Get better vibes to Mischief. I would definitely try and come along to a flylady meet, depending on when and where.:D
Dustykitten I have given up on a new pair of working shoes at the moment, after trying on every possible pair, and ordering in more. As a temp measure, I'm going to get inner soles for last year's pair - they've stretched so my feet slip, and I get blisters on my toes. Then, with a bit of luck, I'll find something in the new range. I'm a fussy shoe wearer, and really struggle.
Some haphazard and disorganised flying has gone on, around parcel packing, and having my hair cut and coloured. I'm now getting seriously irritated by the mess in the Livingroom, hall and stairs, so will blitz it tomorrow and send Ds1 up into the loft.It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
Serena, these are for DS3 for school and old ones are trashed and too small. Just ordered a pair we saw in JL but they did not have his size, can collect tomorrow afternoon so fingers crossed these are better (and in the sale but not in Clarks sale).
Dinner next, feeling tetchy, may be PMS (or just frustration at a wasted day). The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
I've done my tax return!
:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::j:j:j:j:j:j
and sorted some filing and binned another stack of paperwork. Just need to actually do the filing now
I paid £8 in tax for 13/14 :cool: Was that worth the hassle mr taxman? Really???0 -

Err! not sure. I've never done this before either! We don't eat a lot of spuds, I tend to buy them a couple at a time as I'm trying to stay away from starchy stuff and DS isn't keen. But DD loves wedges, so I chopped them up - they weren't big ones - into boiling water for about 5 min then into a sink of cold water, I did them in batches. When cool I patted them dry, and put them in bags of about 8 depending on size with about a tsp of oil and shook them about a bit. I guess they'd take about 20 min fresh so maybe 25-30min from frozen? It may all go horribly wrong, but I'll let you know!
Kiddies in bed. Had a text from Mr M: your delivery will be with you, look out for our driver Troy in van xxxxxx (reg no) and we didn't have two items xx and yy. How efficient is that? Lol. Let see how Troy turns out, lolol.
Kitchen tidied after dinner, and DS room sorted, smaller than DDs so not as much to get through, but he now has 2 empty tubs so some toys can go up there from the conservatory :T
DD tidied her room again too. They both said how nice it was to see the floor :rotfl: I think I'm I stilling some good habits today :T
Then we've done some reading, DS did really well and read half of the level 4 book, but was getting tired so I took over. DD tried to read "the ginormous turnip" lol she insists it's not enormous :rotfl:Bossymoo

dusty Good luck for DS3's shoes tomorrow.
I bought another turkey in Sainsbury's. Intentionally, I hasten to add! We all like it, and everyone said they'd rather have another instead of reverting to chicken for Sunday - as long as it defrosts in time, seems to take ages.
I'm leaving the downstairs and Christmas stuff till tomorrow, but have decluttered little bits here and there. Just how many out of date vouchers, unwanted leaflets and receipts can there be in one small area of worktop?
I'm also still working through my collection of diaries, transferring key items to one notebook, so I can throw out diary. Up to 2002 now. Am wondering how in earth I found time to do all that I appear to have done! Strongly suspect it was because I did no housework.:rotfl:It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
Just taken delivery of my groceries and put them all away. Lordy why did I order potatoes after the afternoon I've had :rotfl: oh yes I did this order on Sunday...
I am cheating with FILs cake and have bought Madeira slabs to carve and ice. I've had poor outcomes recently with cake baking and I don't want to take a chance. That's tomorrow's job.
Also have food for a small buffet. He doesn't want a party or to go anywhere apparently, but MIL asked if I'd do a tea-party at mine with just us and the other grandparents. Hope I've got enough. There will be 7, 8 or 9 of us, I have a dozen bread rolls plus chicken, ham and cheese to fill, salad, a quiche, crisps and some fish nuggets oh and I can do wedges with the new potatoes :rotfl: that should be loads with cake too, lol.
We may bake biscuits tomorrow, too.
Mr M delivery was fab, one hour slots, driver really helpful, said he'd checked the dates on all my veg, made sure the milk was upright, and told me what I'd need to do if I had any problems. Also gave us a gingerbread man decorated to look like a delivery driver :rotfl: all in all a very good first impression, and all present and correct except the two things I already knew about!
Tidied living room, think I will head upstairs and declutter some grey hair :eek:Bossymoo
